+ -1 moreIt went as expected. I would include that they covered the windows and doors during their work when this was needed which cut down a great deal on the dust and dirt that always comes inside in this kind of work.
Description of Work: Lintels (approximately 8-10) on front of building over windows and doors were replaced, all 24 were checked, front facade tuckpointing was repaired as needed; tuck pointing on south wall was repaired, as well as tuckpointing on north wall where moisture had caused previous tuckpointing to deteriorate. We were very pleased with their work. In fact, we were more satisfied than with any previous tuckpointing over a period of close to thirty years. This building is close to 100 years old and requires the attention of an old building. Mr. Glowaki, who evaluated the need and extensiveness of work needed was very knowledgeable, forthcoming and professional. He inspired full confidence in me and the work done. Besides all this we found the price to compare favorably with other estimates we had received.

+ -1 moreThey took down all of the bricks, took them and cleaned them to be re-installed. We could not find the bricks anywhere to have them just replaced. We've used them in the past to rebuild our chimneys and were happy enough to re-hire them again. They did mortar analysis to make sure they mixed the mortar the same way the original was mixed. The mortar has to be the same consistency as the original to keep the bricks from cracking.
Description of Work: Rebuilt brick front of house.

+ 0 moreWE WERE EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THE WORK THEY DID. THE STONE MASONRY WORK WAS EXCELLENT, AND THE TIMBER MANTEL ANCHORED WELL AND LEVEL ON ITS STONE SUPPORTS. MARIO MACHNICKI WAS VERY HELPFUL IN PROVIDING ADVICE ON AESTHETIC CONSIDERATIONS, AS WELL AS TECHNICAL ISSUES. THE CREW WAS PROFESSIONAL, AND COMPLETED ALL WORK ON TIME.
Description of Work: THEY FINISHED OUR FIREPLACE WITH NATURAL STONE OVER THE EXISTING CONCRETE BLOCKS, INCLUDING A LARGE TIMBER MANTEL. BEAUTIFUL WORK!

HE WAS HARD TO GET ORIGINAL QUOTE FOR WORK & OFTEN HARD TO REACH, BUT SPENT A LOT OF TIME DESCRIBING JOB & WORK REQUIRED WHEN WE DID GET AHOLD OF THEM AND HOW TO KEEP PROBLEMS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. JOB WAS DONE VERY WELL. ALWAYS SHOWED UP ON TIME FOR APPOINTMENTS/WORK. WERE ABLE TO DO PART OF THE JOB AHEAD OF THE TIME ORIGINALLY ALLOCATED AS WE NEEDED IT DONE BEFORE ANOTHER CONTRACTOR COULD DO SOME HEATING WORK. HARD TO GRADE ON PRICE, AS WE CALLED SEVERAL COMPANIES, AND MARION WAS THE ONLY ONE WILLING TO TAKE ON OUR FOUNDATION WORK (SO NO OTHER QUOTES TO COMPARE IT TO). WE THINK WE GOT OUR MONEY'S WORTH, THOUGH.
Description of Work: THE COMPANY REMOVED THE INTERIOR PAINT AND PLASTER ON THE BRICK FOUNDATION. THEY REPAIRED THE FOUNDATION. THEY ALSO WORKED ON PART OF THE EXTERIOR FOUNDATION.

+ -1 moreI HAD WORK DONE AT DIFFERENT TIMES BASED ON MY RENOVATION TIME TABLE. I HAD TWO DIFFERNT CREWS COME OVEER THE COURSE OF THE WORK. BOTH CREWS WERE KNOWLEDGEABLE AND CONCERNED WITH DOING GOOD WORK.
Description of Work: THEY TUCKPOINTED AND CHEMICALLY CLEANED THREE SIDES OF MY HOUSE. THEY DID A REALLY GOOD JOB AND KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. THEY HELPED ME SELECT MORTAR COLORS AND WERE GOOD ABOUT POINTING OUT RESTOARTION ELEMENTS THAT NEEDED TO BE ADDRESSED. THEY COMPLETED THE JOB IN THE TIME FRAME SPECIFIED AND TOOK CARE OF ITEMS AS SOON AS I BROUGHT THEM UP, I DID NOT HAVE TO KEEP REMINDING THEM. THEY TAKE A LOT OF PRIDE IN THEIR WORK.
