Lookswell Painting and Handyman Services

They gave us a price on doing four projects, and they have done two. We had to put half down. The whole project is $2,000, but we have paid $1,000 so far. So here is the deal. We had the plumbing work done, and they had to get into the walls. Lookswell is coming back to do the drywall. The condo normally does not pay to paint your walls. Because it was so bad, and people in an inconvenience, we will paint. This woman just said, I just had my kitchen painted two years ago, and I just found this color, and how are you going to find it. The guy came around and giving prices to do the drywall and to paint, she is boo hooing about this color. He went to the wall, and got to the pipes and got a little bit of paint. He took this and said he can match it identically. She said really, and he said I can match it identically. He put two coats, and she said if you didn't know it had a gaping holes, and plastic over it for two months. While we were getting permits and everything. You wouldn't know know he did anything to my kitchen. She thinks they are the greatest thing since slice bread. It was identical and perfect. When I said can I put in my two cents. I use Angie's List. I am the treasurer of the condo. I use Angie's List. I got two other people for the condo, and it would be over $500, and we had to get three other bids. The other two people never said anything about don't worry we can match it. They just said we can paint it. Its a nice yellow, but it wasn't something unbelievable. Whatever color. The fact he went the extra mile, and said yeah we can match it. He was the second person we got on the bid. Before the third bid, she said we need to go with him. I said we need the third bid, no no no, he promised me all kinds of stuff. We plan on using Lookswell in the future. The hole spot matches, and you can't tell. If you stand and look in the corner, you can't tell old paint and new paint. I am not being nasty or anything. The wall is beautiful. They were clean. They went into to do the drywall, and to mud it and everything else, they put plastic. I am 72, and back in the day I would do some of the stuff. They must have stock in plastic. They put it in way more stuff than it needed done. They cleaned it all up. The two people here are beyond ecstatic. They came on time. They told everybody what they were gong to do. So people knew. I am going to do that. We have to let it set. I would be back tomorrow. They said eight, second time ten after eight, but we didn't care. We aren't like that. Had it been nine or nine thirty, we would have said something. Nobody cares.

They finally came out to give me an estimate. They called again a few days later to come out for an estimate when they had already done it. No estimate was sent to me. They were just too slow.

Guys were neat courteouse and did an awesome job. I had to go out of town for work and when I came back the painting was done beautifully and I had no clean up. Highly recommend!

Great. The contractor did all of the work in about 3 or 4 hours. He was also willing to paint the walls to match, but I didn't have the paint available, so I told him not to worry about it.

I was looking for a painter to paint the basement and downstairs bathroom AGAIN since I didn’t like the color I selected last year. I didn’t want to spend an arm-and-a-leg since I made a mistake with the color before - but it needed to be done. I searched Angie’s List and actually spoke to someone from their offices to get their opinion on painters in my area. Lookswell Painting was the first painter they talked to me about and suggested I reach out to them. I sent an email to Lookswell and Cindy responded in less than 30 minutes. They were scheduling about 2 weeks out for an estimate so I confirmed a date with her. I received a reminder email from her the night before and Frank arrived promptly the next morning. We went over what I needed painted – just walls in the basement and bathroom – no trim, no doors and no ceilings as they were done less than a year ago. Frank was very professional, funny and seemed like a great guy. He left and I received my quote within 48 hours. His price was slightly higher than the other quotes I received but there was something about him and his company that just felt right – so we went with it! I received another email from Cindy a few days prior to our scheduled date requesting the color choices and another email the night before the painters were scheduled to arrive. Fernando & Joe showed up right on time, introduced themselves and I showed them the basement. They put plastic down on the flooring from the front door all the way to the basement and taped it down so it wouldn’t move. They brought in all their materials and started to work! I checked on them several times throughout the day – never needing anything – and worked away. They wrapped up around 4 pm and said they’d be back the next morning to do the bathroom. Fernando & Omar showed up the next morning and knocked out the bathroom by 12 noon. Everything was cleaned up spotless and put back just the way they found it. Not a thing out of place!!! I couldn’t be more pleased with their work. Everything was PERFECT!!! I’m pretty picky and I was thrilled with how straight their lines were up against the white ceiling and the white trim. My basement will stay the new color until we move – it’s awesome!!! Frank, Cindy, Fernando, Joe & Omar are TOP-NOTCH and I’d hire them again in a heart-beat for another paint job. This project went well. I spoke with Cindy who was able to provide a total estimate using the type of finish and paint scheme we wanted. Arrangements were made for a start date. On the date of the project a six person paint crew came on time, they explained their approach as we walked through each room of the condo and finalized the paint color and finish for each. Then they went to work, they finished the project to perfection in two days. Highly recommend them!!

Terrible, they charged for 2 coats, only painted one. Did not cut in paint properly. Painted one wall wrong color. Got paint on wood floor (they removed at later time). Did not refund me for rooms painted sloppy and painted with wrong color. Had to pay another painter to come in a repaint what they did. Would never use again.

We were very pleased with the Lookswell experience, from the estimate through the completed job. The estimate was very competitive and the scheduling of the work met our needs. The crew was great to work with. They arrived on time every day and completed the job in the proposed time. Attention to detail was very good. Moses was on time and very professional. He followed up with me every step of the way to ensure I was satisfied with his work. This is the third time I have used Lookswell and have been extremely satisfied.

The team was on time and knocked out a pretty big job in two days. While I wasn't exactly thrilled to be in a position to need their services, but for being in the middle of such a stressful situation, the team at Lookswell did a great job fixing the problem quickly and easily. The team was in an out in two days and the new ceiling looks fantastic. My building association uses them for work on common areas, and I can see why.

Excellent Job!!! Jim came by and gave me the cost of the painting. On May 3rd there crew came out to begin work. Fernando and Luis were the head guys in charge. They were professional and arrived on time and cleaned up after themselves before they left. There were several guys that painted my home and they all worked together and did an excellent job. The started the job on a Wednesday and was completed on Friday the same week. I would definitely recommend Lookswell painting. Great Job!!!!

Lookswell repainted our entire condo - ceilings to floor - at a fair price. They were accommodating with their schedule around our work schedules, were prompt, and cleaned up after themselves daily. Very professional and the results are excellent. We will definitely use Lookswell again for any future painting needs.

Lookswell and their painter, Alberto, did an excellent job. He was prompt, clean and polite. From start to finish it was 4 days. I couldn't be happier with the end result. Plus, Lookswell was very responsive over email when either side had questions. I would definitely recommend them to anyone considering a relatively inexpensive update to old cabinets.

We hired Lookswell to repaint our living room ceiling. The living room is an open to upstairs so the ceiling is two-story high. They had to install scaffolding. The painters were very professionals, did an excellent job and finished the project perfectly on time.

I arranged for the painting job over the phone before I actually took possession of the condo in Chicago. The bidding process was very smooth. Once I took possession of the condo the painters were punctual with the correct paint. They did a very nice job and communicated by phone when issues arose. They cleaned everything up when they were done. the company was great to deal with, and I would definitely hire them again.
