I can't recommend Lookswell more highly. They painted our entire condo in 2005 and did a fantastic job so we hired them again for our townhouse. Every employee they send is very professional and courteous and does an excellent job. Frank - the supervisor - supervised our project in 2005 and again this time. He's excellent and very helpful. Their work is very careful and detail-oriented - they do an excellent job. The most recent project we had was painting all interior doors and our exterior front door. Their employee, Angel, ran into an issue when our townhome association had given us the wrong paint color for the front door (all doors are supposed to be the same color). When he realized it wouldn't match, he came to us and told us he thought it would not work. He then carefully took a sample of the paint color off the door and had the paint matched perfectly. We were very impressed with how proactive he was in that situation. We have had this experience each time we have gone with Lookswell and will hire them to do any painting that we have in the future - I would not even think about hiring anyone else. We have recommended them to friends who have also mentioned that they were very pleased.

I called the company for an estimate and Jim Scanlon came to the house the next day. He was very professional and I had a quote for the work within a few days. The job had to be spaced over a three days because the varnish has to dry between coats. The workers who came were very nice and clean. Jim was very good about keeping us up to date on the progress of the job and was excellent at communication. I would definitely use this company again.

I contacted Jim at Lookswell because of reviews from Angie's list. The supervisor, Frank, came out to give me an estimate. I was immediately impressed with his skill at spotting areas that needed patching. He even spotted an area in a newly remodeled part of the kitchen that was cracking. Finding painters that would repair and patch my walls was very important to me. In comparison to other estimates, Lookswell was just a few dollars higher. I needed the work done in 2 phases and they readily accommodated my request. The first phase was flawless. Painters are very professional, neat, and hard working. When I was ready for phase two, the wait time to schedule work was minimal. At the end of phase two, I found the LR/DR ceiling to be streaked with roller marks. It looked very sloppy. I contacted Frank and Jim. Frank came out the next morning and the painters returned the next day to put on another coat of paint. It was done the right way and everything in phase two also looks flawless. Jim contacted me a day later to make sure I was satisfied. Lookswell does not provide guidance with paint color selection, so clients are on their own.

This was the first time we had worked with Lookswell Painting. We were very impressed. Frank was our main point of contact and he was extremely responsive and a pleasure to work with. Their price was comparable to other firms who gave us a quote and they did a great job with all of the work we had done. We will definitely use Lookswell Painting again the future and would refer this company to friends and family.

I solicited estimates from four local companys that received good reviews on Angie's List, and Jim Scanlan, from Lookswell, responded first and had the lowest price. Other companies were giving estimates around $3,500, but then saying that the baseboards, trim, and closets were going to be another $1,000. Lookswell included the baseboards, trim, and closets for an even $4,000. That seemed like a fair price to me. I asked for a crew of three to four people and a timeframe of three days, and that's what I got. The first day, there was a slight glitch. The painters did a great job, but the color in the foyer was totally wrong (a pale pink where I had wanted a blue-grey). The paint cans were labeled properly, but must have been mixed incorrectly (without the black). I contacted Jim, and he handled the situtaion courteously and quickly. The next day the foyer was repainted the right color. The paint job I had done was no easy feat because I used 13 colors, and had the baseboards in each of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and the living room all painted a different color from the walls in those rooms. The painters did a great job. After they were done, they had me do a walk-through where I pointed out any imperfections I noticed, and they fixed them. I was also told that if I noticed any defects after the job was done, they would come back and fix them. The only thing a noticed after the job was done were some very small spots of white paint on the carpet in a couple of rooms, which I ended up either cutting out with a scissors or leaving. I did not find that to be a big deal. Overall, I was very impressed by Jim Scalan's professionalism, and with the quality of the work that his crew did. Next time I need a paint job, I will definitely use Lookswell again.

I had a very good experience and would recommend this company. Anytime I called, either the owner picked up the phone or his answering service did (and they immediately relayed the message to him, and the owner would call back very promptly). Most paint companies/owners I called took days to get back to me, never called me back when they said they would, didn't show up for appointments, etc. so major kudos to Lookswell for their prompt responses! I called for a quote and the owner arranged to come out a day or two after I called. He sent a formal quote over that night and the price was competitive (especially for a small job). The owner promissed to send a guy over that same weekend to do the job- the guy was running an hour late getting to the job so he sent two guys over instead of one (to get the job done more quickly) and ran to pick up the paint himself. The guys he sent over were very professional and clearly know what they are doing. I was very happy with the results and the professional manner in which even my small job was treated. I will be calling Lookswell back for all my future painting/drywall needs.

Dirk was quick to reply to my original request for an estimate, and came by a day later to look at the porch. I had an estimate within 3 days of first contact. I wanted to get the work done the following week, when we were on vacation, and to my surprise he was able to make that happen. We returned to find the place looking beautiful, with no trash or other detritus left behind. The work was expensive but worth it especially for an important job like the front porch of your house.

Jim Scanlan was on time and provided us an estimate in one business day, just as promised. His price was very competitive and, in fact, hundreds of dollars below the highest bidder we had. Jim showed up with some of his crew the first day to make sure instructions were clear. He accommodated our schedule which required the work to be completed in a short period of time and unsupervised. We never worried about leaving the guys alone in our condo. The total work time was three days and each day the painters were on time, professional, clean, and courteous. The work they did was excellent. When there was a small miscommunication as to whether certain aspects of trim was or was not to be painted, Jim arranged to have it fixed immediately. We will invite Lookswell to bid on every paint job in the city that we have from now on.

It was a good experience. I looked at different companies to do the paint job and they came in with the price which I thought was good. I also looked them up on Angies list and they had good reputation there. They came out and did the work in one day and it looks great. I have no complaints about them.

I was very happy with the services provided by Lookswell. Frank came out for the estimate. He was on time. The estimate was in the middle of the others I had received. The painters Fernando, Victor and one other person who's name I can't remember, came on time everyday. I had a great experience with this company and would use them again.

Everyone was courteous, professional and they were meticulous about their work. The price was not the lowest or highest of the bids I received and frankly it was expensive, but they did an execllent job.

It was terrific. We were also having hardwood floors installed and Lookswell worked around their changing scheduled completion times. Workers were on time, friendly, spoke english, as well as clean and tidy. Jim in the office is highly responsive, open to phone/email/voicemail or whatever is easiest. They were very flexible when I asked to have addtl work done not already on the work order. We would use them again and recommend to anyone.

Lookswell was incredible and actually rescued our project. We were having trouble getting timely or confident estimates, and were also faced with being unable to get inside the apartment until just prior to the official closing. With the timeline for doing the work fast approaching, Jim Scanlan got back to me within a few hours and provided a full quote based on pictures and a description of the work. In terms of the work, the crew was great - professional and very skilled. The trim lines turned out beautifully and they did a masterful job of making 85 year old plaster walls look new. The job only took two days and Lookswell also sent someone back without additional charge to handle a few minor touchups.

It went well. They were punctual, freindly, and used good quality paint. Their prices are very reasonable as well. I couldn't be happier.

All part of this have been great! From estimate to finish. I received this estimate a few months ago (while they were doing other painting in my house) and they held to their price and came within a week of me calling them to do the work. All work was done within 5 days and the guys were respectful and VERY neat and clean. Thanks!

Lookswell Painting came to our home at the time agreed upon and covered everything that needed to be covered for painting. They were very professional very clean and courteous . Lookswell did a fantastic Job. Every room was done exactly how we wanted it and they were always on tiime and once again kept things very clean.

They were very professional throughout the entire process. Quoted and showed up at the agreed times. Their people were very professional. They did an outstanding job of covering everything. Cleaned up thoroughly when they were done. Their price was reasonable compared to other quotes I received. The painting I required wasn't typical or easy....they had to spray on the paint and a red gloss ceiling can be difficult to pull off.

Overall, it went pretty well. The quality of the work was excellent, the ceilings and walls looked beautiful and the pantry looked better than it ever had. The only minor frustration was that both in our discussions on the phone and the estimate that was done in person, I was told it would be a "one day job". Consequently we scheduled a showing of the condo for the night after the painting, and it turned out that the "one day job" was in fact a two day job, and the showing was of a condo covered in plastic dropcloths and dust. In hindsight I should have asked them to confirm the duration when we scheduled the painting. To their credit they did a lovely job, and the place looked great for the open house that weekend. I would hire Lookswell again.

We are very pleased with the work. They were a few minutes late in their initial appointment to give us an estimate, but Frank called to let me know, which was very considerate of him. They also agreed to come out and give a second estimate to paint the iron staircases around the perimeter of the building. Their quote for the window casings work was in line with another quote we received from a separate vendor. We did not ask them to paint the staircases because we thought that quote was too expensive. The work was done in mid September and Frank and two painters arrived right on time the morning they were scheduled. The next day, one of the painters came back to apply the second coat of paint. They cleaned up very well after themselves.

They missed one baseboard, but it wasn't intentional. They were very willing to fix the problem any way I wanted. The price was very reasonable for the work they did and the speed they did it. They did a great job and there were no problems.
