Jim and Frank, are the owners, and are two of the nicest people you would ever want to work with. The fellows who came to do the work, were also very nice, and did an absolutely fantastic job. When they finished, the apartment was left very clean. We were told that if there was any problems to just call and they would take care of them. We discovered a few spots on the trim that had to be gone over, and they were there the next day to fix them. I will use them again without a doubt, and I thank them very much.

They were fantastic. They were clean and courteous. They did a fabulous job. Their prices were competitive and they came when they said they would be here. They did a very good job. The owner even came to check on the progress. It was great. They moved furniture and covered it really well. They did fantastic work. My husband is a perfectionist and he usually does the work himself. They saw what we had done in the kitchen and dining room so they decided they better do a good job. They were great. We would absolutely use them again.

When I requested an estimate, they were very responsive in scheduling it. Frank arrived on time, and prepared two estimates based on the projects I was envisioning. I received the estimate 2 business days later, which is exactly when he promised. I had some follow up questions, which were answered in a timely manner. I also requested a revision of one of the estimates to better fit my projects/budget. Jim kindly emailed me a new estimate. I called him to schedule a time to paint, and they were able to fit me in that week, which was much sooner than I had thought. The night before the job, Jim called me to confirm what time they would be coming in the morning. He and his crew arrived right on time. Jim confirmed the color selection with me and went over the areas to be painted. The men carefully moved all my furniture and did a great job covering everything in plastic. They proceeded to repair a few holes (nail holes and some larger holes from where furniture was bolted into the wall) and sand down the walls. Jim originally said it would be a 1-2 day job, but they were finished sanding and painting within 6-7 hours. They did a great job. I think it looks beautiful. They confirmed everything was okay before they left for the day. The men also moved back my furniture when the paint was dry to the touch. Jim called later that evening to ensure I was pleased with the work. He also instructed me to call if I noticed any problems over the next few weeks. I was very pleased with the work and the customer service I received. Would definitely hire Lookswell again.

I called Jim because I needed our front steps and porch painted ASAP. Lookswell was at the top of the list and had the best reviews. He was easy to get a hold of and prompt to come by for an estimate and in 24 hours, they began working on the job. It took 1 full day to sand and stain plus a few hours the next day for the second coat. Alex and Fernando worked very hard and kept everything clean and tidy and did a fantastic job. Jim even called to see how everything went at the end of the first day. The steps and porch look fantastic and I couldn't be happier with the service. No wonder Lookswell is the highest rated painter on Angie's List. Highly recommended.

We first spoke to Jim and set up a time for him to come see our house and give us an estimate. He was very friendly and professional. He did not push us to get more done than we needed to. We chose our paints on our own at Home Depot, and the Lookswell painters picked up our paints after being told the colors. They also color-matched some areas of paint that were already in our home, since we wanted to paint most of the downstairs living areas the same colors that were there (they just needed a once-over). They also painted over the paint in our boiler area to cover up a lead-paint area. They did this safely and thoroughly. The painting was done in a shorter period of time than expected - I think they estimated 3-4 days, and it only took 2 (if I remember correctly). The paint jobs were thorough and beautiful. They also said that if anything got nicked or needed touch-ups after our actual move-in day, they would be willing to come back to do that for us (but we didn't end up needing it). Overall, we were very happy with the work we had done, and we felt the pricing was reasonable. We would definitely use them again.

They were excellent. When I called they sent someone out immediately and emailed the estimate within 2 business days. I am getting a couple of more estimates and then I will choose the one I want to paint.

They were done when they said they were going to be done. They were easy to work with. We were happy with the result. The workers who came in were fine.

We were rather slow in choosing colors, and Lookswell was very patient with us as we figured that out. First the crew did prep work and windows, then the shingles, then porch, accents, and touch-ups. They did a nice job---the house looks great. The crew they sent was very professional. It was clear whom to address our concerns (Fernando, who was great). They stored all of their equipment neatly at the end of the day. They were prompt, courteous, and asked for our opinions when they were needed. When we wanted something done, we asked, and they did it. They were overall very tidy. Toward the end, I asked Fernando to have his guys clean up a space or two they had overlooked, but those were few. At the end of the job, there were a few things that were only slightly not right, but a quick call to the office and they were fixed. Those things were: two (out of about 30) windows weren't cleaned, and the edge of the interior wood on some windows was stripped in the cleanup. But both of these things were fixed with no hassle at all; quickly, professionally, and to our satisfaction. So, overall, I thought they were great. As I said, a few very small oversights at the end, but those were made right with no hassle. Otherwise, the company was excellent.

They were wonderful about scheduling and price was good. Most importantly, they did a wonderful, careful, clean job. They did very meticulous. The work was superb.

I was impressed with the professionalism and work of the men from the beginning to the completion of the project. Jim Scanlan, the owner, responded to my call within hours and visited my home to assess the project the next day. He emailed me an estimate within a day or two. When I called him a few weeks later to inform him that his bid had been selected, he returned to review the project and set a start date. The men arrived at the agreed upon time every day. They were very careful in moving and replacing the furniture. The leader painted three shades of the color I wanted on the walls in several places so that I could see the difference in lighting and decide on my preference. In the bedroom and den I wanted a totally customized color. Although Jim had many shades close, non were exactly what I pictured. I though that I had an envelope that was the perfect color. When they painted a sample of the color that was mixed to match the envelope, I felt that it was too dark. I suggested that they mix it with a lighter shade and it was just right! They were very anxious to have me happy about their work and results. Jim came by everyday but one to check on the progress. Initially I was concerned about removing the wallpaper because I didn't know how the walls would look. The paper had been on the walls for a very long time. All of the walls were repaired and prepared so well that they look as though they were never papered. I plan to recommend Lookswell if asked about a painting contractor in the future. I also plan to use this company when I have additional decorating needs.

We called Jim Scanlon the owner to make an appointment for an estimate. He came out promptly and discussed everything with us. He called back the next day with the estimate for : 1 coat of primer on walls and ceiling of boyh rooms 1 coat of paint on each ceiling 2 coats of paint on walls of both rooms with an accent wall in the living room Fernando came out the first day, moved and covered all the furniture,put plastic down on the floor and put a coat of primer on the walls and ceiling of both rooms. The next day he came with a partner and finished the job. Excellent job all around and extremely professional. Will definitely use LOOKSWELL PAINTING again. Roy and Fran

Jim arrived within a day or two of contact, sent me a written estimate and I was able to schedule the work a few days later. Mario and his assistant did a terrific job with the ceiling. They were punctual, courteous and efficient. When I look at the ceiling I can't tell where the damage occurred. They protected my floor and furniture and did a great job cleaning up. I will be hiring this company for other jobs in the future.

Working with Lookswell was great. I called several companies and Jim gave me a very good quote. He seemed very knowledgable and helpful and the price was right so I gave it a shot. The painters arrived right on time and immediately began work covering the floors. I originally thought it would take them 2 days but I got a call around 4pm saying they are just about done. When I got home they were gone and I walked around to inspect the place and it looked great, no complaints. They even did a nice job cleaning up after themselves. I highly recommend using Lookswell.

I am extremely happy with the job delivered by Lookswell. Our house is an old home with walls that show its age. Lookswell made our walls look smooth and beautiful again. The job was completed on time and within the estimated price. We plan on having them come back later this season for some exterior work.

They were very responsive to my inital call for an estimate. Able to set up a time to come out and view our space. The gentleman was prompt and courteous when he came to the house. Estimates were sent to me by email within hours. I look forward to working with such a professional group.

I was very pleased with the work. They exceeded my expectations on many different fronts. From my initial inquiry for an estimate, I was contacted and had an appointment scheduled in less than 24hrs. The gentleman that came out to do my estimate, Fernando, was prompt, very courteous and professional. He listened to what I wanted, took notes, gave me an approximation of how long it would take to complete the work and within 15 mins, he was giving me his card and letting me know I'd receive an estimate from the office which I did later that evening. After receiving the estimate, I contracted the work as it was much less expensive than another company I'd had out earlier in the week. Speaking with Jim, he explained the long tenure of his employees and made me feel comfortable leaving them alone in my condo so that I could go to work while they painted. The day of the work, Fernando and one other gentleman that was there to help with the work arrived promptly and got to work right away. He made a point to give me his cell number should I need anything and later that afternoon called me to let me know what they'd completed and that they were leaving for the day and locking up. When I arrived at home, it was like they'd never even been there outside of noticing the lovely painted walls! All of my furniture, etc. was back in its original place and everything was neat, clean, and orderly. Day 2 arrived and as before, they were there right at 8:00 and got started right away. Once again, Fernando made a point to call me when they'd finished and let me know where they'd left the extra paint, etc. When I got home, once again, I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did my entire place look amazing, it was such an easy, stress-free experience! They even went above and beyond and touched up a small area on 2 exposed areas of a closet where I had painted a year ago and blended so that it looked nice. I could not stop looking at my place all night at how great it all looked. And the best part of it all was that everything was done in 2 days versus 3! I can't say enough how great my experience was and would definitely recommend them - in fact, I already have. Fernando did an amazing job. Payment was even very easy. I simply received the invoice following the work and paid via credit card over the phone the next day. They were kind enough to even offer to have someone come by to pick up a check if I planned to pay that way. I could've also mailed the check. That impressed me too as that really doesn't exist these days - in that most expect payment on the spot (understandably of course), but again, another reason why my experience was so great overall.

I've only used them once and they did a fine job. The salesperson was very helpful. They were very helpful and very friendly which is not always the case. They did a good job cleaning up. They were nice people and they did what they said they were going to do.

We found Jim to be prompt, courteous, knowledgeable about mold remediation and very capable of doing a terrific job. We chose another company based on price and may have made the wrong decision. We plan to use Jim and his company Lookswell in the future.

Lookswell was prompt, did excellent work and kept work areas clean. They were done within one week from when we hired them and called to make sure we were happy with the job done.

Jim Scanlan was great to work with, he was most helpful from start to finish. During the quote he gave great advise on what should be painted and what shouldn't to get the most bang for the buck. He personally came in on the first morning of the job and called after each day of the two day project to make sure that everything was done to satisfaction. The quote was VERY competitive from the one other contracting company I had looked at and was accurate with the actual amount it ended up being. The painters, Mario and Omar, were great. They were friendly and made sure everything was covered well and cleaned up after each day. The lines on the paint job, where the walls meet the ceiling and walls meet the trim, were done very well and definitely looked professionally done! Overall just a great experience!

I called for an estimate. A man came a little late, but called an hour before to let me know. He was very nice, professional and an estimate was emailed within a couple of days. This estimate was 40% higher than another, so I hired the other painter.

We called to request an estimate and Jim (the owner) came out right away. He was very nice and answered all our our questions. We promptly received the estimate by email, and the cost estimate seemed very fair. We ended up selecting another contractor, but wished we had 2 jobs, so as to hire Lookswell too.We're confident that Lookswell would have done a good job, but thanks to Angie's List, we suddenly had gone from having no idea of whom to call to having to make a tough choice! Although we didn't select Lookswell this time, we will definitely consider this company for future painting needs.

Upon my request Lookswell scheduled an appointment for an estimate within a day of my call. Jim was on time and very pleasant to deal with. I had another paint estimate from a different company on Angies list the day previous and was given an absolutely outrageous quote for a small bedroom and bath. Jim gave me an appropriate estimate and time frame in which to get the work done. I received the estimate the same evening and hired Lookswell the next day. On the scheduled day of painting, they arrived right on time, and went straight to work. They moved all the furniture, completely covered it and the floors. They really took excellent care of my things. The work is excellent and when they were finished everything was cleaned up, floors swept and furniture put back. If the walls hadn't changed color I would not have even known they were there. The entire process with Lookswell from estimate to finished product was 1 week! Job well done! I will definitely hire them again!

First impression (covered in diff post from telephone call) was a bit shaky as Jim was late for the initial estimate appt. I had plans that required I be on time - so I was a bit nervous. However, I personally liked Jim and he conveyed to me that he knew what he was doing 'paint-wise'. He got me my estimate and was on his way... His estimate was on point and slightly less than a second estimate I'd gotten from another Angie listed painter. The work began immediately after agreement (thanks!) and was completed timely. The painter that showed up was very diligent and very detail oriented. The wrought iron needing sanding and priming and the painter did a terrific job of getting to all the rust. He even pointed out a crack in the railing, and put in some bondo type product to help it refrain from future rust. (How's that for above and beyond?) I'm hopeful that the paint lasts many many years, but am also satisfied with Lookswell's 2 year warranty. One other thing I really appreciated about this work was that over the two days that the painter was here (prime 1 day / paint another) each day a 'manager' came over to see how the job was progressing and whether I had any issues or concerns. I thought that was a tremendous way to ensure customer satisfaction and to ensure the employee was getting the job done. Clearly these guys care about the customer being happy and their reputation. If I'd had an issue I'm sure it would have been addressed and rectified. I'd absolutely recommend Lookswell and would absolutely use them again.
