Description of Work: Lookswell Painting did the molding. They helped me choose the paint that I wanted. They first came out and gave me a quoted estimate which was accurate.

Description of Work: Jim Scanlon met with us to determine what our job would entail. We were looking to have the cedar siding on our house, garage and tool shed stained. We also had some boards that needed replacing due to cracking. Jim was very friendly and thorough in his inspection of our project. He submitted a well detailed proposal including caulking, the replacement of boards and recommended two coats of stain which we felt was appropriate since it had been fifteen years since we had our siding installed. My wife and I had a difficult time deciding whether to go with Lookswell or another excellent prospect. The difference maker was that we learned the other contractor has a carpenter we know and have a high regard for, but we would not hesitate to contact Jim for a future job. Jim was gracious when we told him we had chosen a different contractor and why.

Description of Work: Lookswell Painting Inc gave me an estimate for painting a couple of rooms on the interior of my house and 2:56.1 the entire exterior.

Description of Work: We asked Lookswell to estimate and paint our forthcoming baby's nursery. It was just one room, and a fairly straightforward paint job -- one color for the walls and another color for the trim.

Description of Work: We engaged Lookswell to paint our dining room (includes trim, painting chair rail, walls and a few doors) for the first phase of work approximating $ 1,400. We also received a quote to paint the kitchen, pantry, finish and stain our front door, sand, stain and finish wooden staircase and paint the entire exterior of house approximating $ 20,000. This work will phased over the next few months based on weather conditions and schedules. Lookswell is a highly qualified and very professional company.

Description of Work: We LOVE these guys. They are very professional and responsive. If you dont like something they will fix it. They show up on time and work hard, and leave the house spotless. The owner Jim is very easy to work with and his team of painters are trustworthy and very easy to have in a busy household. Our first experience with Lookswell was after purchasing a large (7,00 square ft / 4 story) brownstowne house that need quite a bit of remodeling/updating. There are way too many services to list but here are some of the main ones: There was was a lot of wallpaper to be taken down, and then walls to be prepped and primed and painted. Much of the the trim in the house had a dark stain, so we had them strip it and paint it. In addition there was a very large 3 story staircase with cherry banister and balstrades which they completley stripped, sanded and restained. A big messy job which they did without any problem. Every door in the house (20+) were stripped sanded and painted, and they are 8 feet tall! The home had a lot of dark cherry wainscoating throughout and it was all standed down and painted. It was a dramatic change! A large 2 story family room ceiling was stripped sanded and painted. Cabinetry was sanded and painted. The ceiling in our dining room had a reverse (downward) tray ceiling which looked very contrived. They removed the whole thing and re-drywalled it and painted it. Looks amazing. Our deck was sanded down and restained rotting wood replaced, along wth 3 large garage bay doors and loads of outdoor trim. There is way to much to list everything, but needless to say it was a really really big job! Since then we have had them wallpaper powder rooms, dining room, repaint some rooms different colors and paint newly built cabinetry and every time its the same great service. Since then our deck has had some peeling and they are resanding and staining at no additional charge. We have had estimates for the work and everytime their estimates were always right in the middle. I could not be more satisfied and at the end of the day who needs the hassle of shotty work. These guys were great every time we used them!

Description of Work: We had the hallways, living room, and bedroom painted in our 1-bedroom condo. In addition to painting the walls, ceiling, doors, closet doors, heater covers, and trim, they also repaired a substantial amount of damage in the walls (cracks where the ceiling and wall meet, etc.) and took out dated elements (like a inoperable 70's intercom box) and repaired those areas with drywall.

Description of Work: Painted three rooms. Did an excellent job, however, i had to clean some of the paint sanding off windows after they left. I think it was an oversight on the workers part, but should have been cleaned up before they left. Painters were very professional and I will use them again.

Description of Work: Master bedrooms; home office, which meant painting around and a bit behind bookcases; bathroom ceiling, where the wallboard taping had failed; kitchen ceiling, which meant protecting cabinets & countertops; touch-up on five windows where we replaced miniblinds; remove six baseboard heaters & match-and-replace woodwork where the baseboard heaters used to be; repaint the area between woodwork and window sill where the baseboard heaters had been. Lots of truly nasty detail work, in short.
