Description of Work: He installed a new computer, all of the wiring and the set up, and he did a wonderful job. He has been back a couple of times for things I was unsure of, he is always prompt and doesn't make me wait to hear back . It has been a wonderful experience.

Description of Work: Had a problem with my desktop computer. Was very slow and would would not access many web sites. Tried to clean the computer by myself but no luck. I'm not a good computer tech. Called John's Computer Tune-Up, whom I've used quite successfully in the past on my wife's laptop. John started working on my problem the day I contacted him and completely restored my desktop to its original speed and operation within a day. He's very professional and highly skilled. Will always contact him for any future computer issues.

 + -1 moreThis was my second experience with John, and both times, he's been great. (Six months ago, he gave my computer a tune-up, and it ran a zillion times better.) He has a rare gift: he's great with computers and with people. Both times he's come to my home, he's been personable, organized, prepared and excellent at what I've needed him to do. Plus, I've called him with a problem, and he's cheerfully and successfully helped me trouble-shoot over the phone. I recommend him without qualification!
Description of Work: After recommending a very good shop to replace the defective hard-drive on my desktop computer, John came to my home and performed numerous jobs that I requested to get my new hard-drive running properly. He installed a back-up hard-drive, replaced and updated the software that I had on my old-hard drive, installed several kinds of software I'd never had before, gave me a written maintenance schedule for me to perform monthly tasks to keep the computer running efficiently, phoned my internet-service provider and walked it through fixing a longstanding glitch in my email service and gave me tips on how to get the most of everything he did. Because I have a disabling illness that confines me mostly to home, John even did the shopping for the back-up hard-drive and didn't charge me for the time, only for the cost of the equipment. In addition, he offered to follow up with me on the telephone within a week to make sure all my questions were answered and everything is running properly, also at no extra charge.

He came back multiple days in a row to ensure everything was running correctly and to my satisfaction. John cares about his work and cares even more about his customers. He comes highly recommended. If you are having computer issues, skip geek squad or any other corporate companies and give John a call. I promise you will not be disappointed.

 + -1 moreJohn is pleasant to be around, extremely patient and a very good instructor. He taught me the hows and whys you need to know, especially the internet. He showed up on time and called me often to see how it's going. I learned so much from him. I think I know the internet as well as my family and friends who use the internet all the time. I highly recommend John to help troubleshoot or instruct how to use the commpter or internet.
Description of Work: I would like to say that I knew absolutely nothing about computers. I needed several visits since I had no working knowledge of the internet, John came to my home and went over everything one needs to know about computers and the internet. He offered to give me free follow-up visit on what I learned, and phone help at no charge with any further questions or uncertainties I might have. His prices are very reasonable for the time he spent with me in my home, at my convenience.

John was willing to meet me at the computer store, and helped me buy the right computer, software, and supplies for my needs. He came to my home to set up the equipment, install the software, and teach me how to use it. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient in answering all of my questions.

 + -1 moreQuality, efficiency, and patience are hard to come by in the computer repair service, but John is a rare breed that fulfills these needs and then some. He's very thoughtful & makes sure I understand everything, no matter how simple it may be to him. He's always on time & charges a very reasonable rate.
Description of Work: John has worked on my three computers for over two years now. He has "Tuned" them for maximum efficiency, secured my network, set everything to backup automatically, repaired hardware as needed, etc. One thing I really like is the "Maintenance" list he makes for each computer. This way I can re-tune them myself as needed to speed them up/prevent future problems.
