Jerger Window Fashions of Chicago

Marvin consulted with us at our 35-year-old condo (in the throes of being completely gutted and remodeled), armed with fabric swatches that were exactly what we were looking for. He made terrific recommendations regarding the style of the drapes as well as the lining, for which we are grateful: the drapes are simple, modern, and beautiful--and protected from the intense western sun that comes in several of the windows. His measurements were perfect. There was an unexpected materials delay for the drapes, but as soon as they were available, Chuck Jerger and his installation partner Glen did a smooth and speedy installation. They installed the hanging rods into our concrete ceilings, warned before of the noise factor, and cleaned up all of the dust afterward. They even steamed the drapes to perfection. Since the installation, one of our mini-blinds' wands needed to be fixed and Jerger's response was prompt, courteous and thorough. They take pride in their work and they should, it's top-notch.

We knew which product we wanted and chose Jerger for the work because of their great reviews here and pricing, which was lower than everyone else we spoke to. We were happy to avoid a lengthy sales pitch and the turnaround time was as quoted. They worked around our schedule and we were ultimately very pleased with the final result.

I had an idea what I wanted for my windows, and shopped around for several companies to do the job. I found the prices at Jerger to be very competitive, and I liked the "non-salesy" conversation I had with the people working at the store. They came out to measure my windows, and they made their recommendations. I placed my order, and several weeks later when my blinds arrived, Jerger called me to schedule the install. They were able to come out quickly, and worked around my schedule. They installed my blinds, and they looked great. Later I did see a few adjustments I wanted made, so when I called them up, they offered to come back out for no charge, to make the adjustments. Overall, I had a great experience and felt that I paid a competitive price for the product and service that I received. I have referred Jerger to my friends and clients.

They were pretty good all in all. There was one blind that did not fit but they took care of it.

We went to their store at 3461 N. Lincoln Ave., and spoke with Jan, a senior designer. We told her we needed blinds for the five windows in our dining area next to our kitchen. The windows face west, and receive the hot afternoon sun. She suggested we use Designer Screen Roller Shades. We liked the looks of them and thought they would work well as they provide UV protection and also give us privacy. Jan came to our home a few days later and measured the windows and showed us samples of the shades in different light control and colors. She was very pleasant and efficient. She placed the order and in four weeks the shades were installed. We were very pleased.

The treatments work perfectly! They were prompt and professional. Their price was a bit high, but I wouldn't hesitate to pay a little more to insure that the service is great. I'd use them again in a heartbeat and recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

After seeing so many great reports on this company, we invited their rep to our home to bid on installing shutters, as well as silk draperies/sheers. We were not particularly impressed by the representative, who seemed almost irritated when we made suggestions rather than rely solely on his ideas. After spending about 30 minutes in our home, measuring and discussing ideas, he indicated he'd "get back to" us with more ideas and a bid. HE DID NOT. Never once did he call back. I guess the job was too small for him? Too bad, we gave the bid to another very highly rated company (that we were THRILLED with), and they got $10,000 worth of work that this company lost out on.

The blinds look great and were affordable compared to other places we looked. We were up front with the rep about the amount we were willing to spend and he told us the best option. We also wanted something that would be easy to clean and did not collect much dust. The blinds are wonderful and complement the brick walls and wood ceilings and floors nicely.

Marvin came to my home with a great selection of fabric swatches, and I appreciated his help in selecting a color that compliments the furniture nicely. His measurements were right on. Chuck Jerger and his partner were responsible for the installation. They did a nice job of installing the rod into a concrete ceiling, and even used my vacuum cleaner to catch the concrete dust before it hit the floor. The drapes were beautifully hung and steamed to remove any wrinkles. Overall, they really seemed to take pride in their work.

Based on the recommendation of a friend and the high Angie's List rating, I contacted Jerger in June 2007 to compare prices for window treatments (limited selection) offered by developer of condo that I'd purchased pre-construction. Jerger's prices were competitive, but they also offered a better selection, and the Luminette product was exactly what I was looking for. They came and measured in late November and did the installation shortly after Christmas. Despite the fact that they were drilling into concrete, they cleaned up completely as they went along. The installation was amazingly quick, and they were perfectionists, getting everything right.

Great experience. They were very professional from the home visit to the installation. Plus, it was much faster than I expected [2 weeks - although I think this was unusual].

They were very thorough, punctual, and did a good job. It's a family owned business. They're very caring.

I thought that they were a little more expensive, but for the price, they were very good to work with. They did a great job. They had also re-hung some other blinds for me before this visit. They also did well with that too. I forget about the high price because as long as you can talk to them and they answer your questions, they are fine with me. You really have a hard time if someone does not communicate well with you.

I like that they were able to make the blinds just the right size. I took in the measurements and it took a couple of weeks to get the blinds back. They are a little pricey, but they fit perfect and that's what I wanted.

We picked out window treatments with excellent assistance from Marvin. Within 24 hours, he came and measured the windows and ordered the window treatments. It took about 5 weeks to receive the order. The day they were received we were called to say they were in and asked for a date to install. They came the next day and it took about 10 minutes to install the window treatments.

Overall, we are very pleased with the quality of the shades. The fabric feels durable, and the stitching looks very carefully done. The top-down bottom-up mechanism has been without any problems. We ordered four fabric shades for 72" high windows without block-out liner and three fabric shades also for 72" high windows with block-out liner. The shades were expensive, but of very good quality, which is what we were looking for. The installation charge is $90 and then $10 for each shade. It takes about six weeks for the custom shades to be made. Chuck Jerger installed the shades himself and did a really nice job. He even steamed the shades so that they were wrinkle free, after installing them. Any debris was cleaned up immediately. Overall, we are very happen with the window treatment company and would definitely work with them again.

Marvin was the contact and he was very professional. After the initial call, we got an immediate response. The process of getting a quote was a bit slow, however. The installers were also very professional, friendly, and thorough. We liked the first drape work so much that we had another one done a few months later.

I have used them before. I think they are very professional. They are everything you could want.

The Jerger brothers really run a class-act. They gave us a lot of personal attention, great guidance as to what would look best for our hours, and prompt service when our window treatments were delivered. The installation effort happened in three visits, which meant that as soon as something came in, they were more than happy to come over and install what they received. We are delighted with our new window treatments, and absolutely delighted with Jerger Draperies! Well worth a little markup on price to get the attention, expertise and service from the Jergers.

The same thing could've cost me much more at another company (I went to compare prices). Chuck painted the curtain rod silver for me. Everything was great. They called and told me the products would be finished sooner than they originally said.

WONDERFUL! I found Jerger listed here on Angie's List and sent an email on a Saturday. I got a return email the following day (Sunday) from Marvin who arranged to come to my home on Monday (the following day). He was great. Showed up on time and measured my windows and we discussed my taste and style. He came back the following week with loads of fabric swatches that were exactly what I wanted and I placed the order right then and there. I was told it would take about six weeks to get them in but it was closer to four weeks and they rushed instillation in order to get them up before Easter. Chuck and Glen (the installers) were great. I simply could not have been happier with my entire experience. Not only will I recommend them to my friends, I will call them again when we do the remaining six windows! I will say that the price was more than I had intended to spend, but in the end it was totally worth it!

Marvin was the salesperson. (This business is entirely shop-at-home.) I wanted window treatments that would be easy-to-care-for, nonallergic (i.e. not drapes that would collect dust), and relatively child-proof; he quickly recommended the wood blinds. He had many sample books for me to choose from. The installation team came on another day to take the measurements, then about 3-4 weeks later to do the installation. They were quick and professional. The window treatments are all beautiful and excellent quality.

Marvin Leach, senior design consultant, came to our home within 48 hours of my call. He is a completely professional and gifted designer. I showed him around our house so he would get a feeling for our taste. I did not want to spend hours looking for fabrics and asked him to do the leg work. Two days later he came back with perfect choices for each window and door. Two days after that I had fabric samples in my possession. Seven weeks later Chuck Jerger and his assistant installed everything. The installation went as smoothly as the design process. I will continue to use Jerger for the other windows in our house. This is a terrific company and I am enormously grateful to Angie's List for introducing them to me.

These guys beat all other quotes without me having to mention competition. Excellent attention to detail, quick turnaround, clean, friendly and above all local!
