Description of Work: Our condo association hired Best Brickmasters to rebuild the parapet wall on our vintage building. They did a beautiful job. | |We worked on the scope of this project for over a year and bid it out to several vendors. Best Brickmasters demonstrated superior expertise, communication, and quality of work throughout the process. I highly recommend them.

Description of Work: We completely replaced the front porch on our house. We redid the stairs and landing with a TREX composite using a hidden fastener system (no face screws). All the posts, railings, risers, and trim work were replaced with new cedar. The roof over the porch and two main support columns were retained, but the roof had to be temporarily supported while they were replacing the flooring below the support columns. | |We have to wait until Spring to stain the new cedar, so the project isn't complete yet, but it still looks great even with the natural cedar against our old stained columns. We have 1/4" gaps between the composite planking now to allow for drainage which is so much better than the old tongue and groove planking that held puddles of water and required constant maintenance and repairs. I don't mind the look of the TREX composite material, but I'm glad we did the rest of the porch in real wood. I think it was a good compromise to go with a composite on the flat surfaces that would otherwise require the most maintenance and real wood on everything else that is more visible from the street. Given that cedar is rot and mildew resistant, this combination should hopefully last a long time and only require minimal maintenance going forward and presumably save us some money over the long run as a result. | |At any rate, I've used Illinois Home Improvement in the past many times and I was very happy with the results once again.

Description of Work: Illinois Home Improvement was the General Contractor for a major renovation/addition in 2003. I can't choose a date that long ago. The quality for the major components such as foundation and framing was fine, but finish work and exterior trim and roofing work was not good. We also had some major disagreements with Eric about several items. Eventually, the architect mediated. At the end of the job, Eric walked away from the project and we did not make the final payment.

Description of Work: I had extensive work done by Illinois Home Improvement Corp., A/K/A Best Brickmasters. I had my basement, 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor lintels replaced. They, also, had to completely rebuild my balcony in order to replace the two rusted I-Beams. They are General Contractors, so they, also, rebuilt my front cement stairs. The men start work early in the morning and they work very hard all day. They work very well as a team and put alot of pride in their work. I, also, want to hire them again to do more masonry work for me. I highly recommend Illinois Home Improvement Corp.

Description of Work: I had approximately 300 old common bricks replaced on the east side of my house. They spot tuck pointed the other bricks as needed. In addition, they rebuilt my chimney and installed a new cap. Eric scheduled the work to fit a fairly tight time frame that I had. The workers showed up on time and did a good job of cleaning up. In addition to the masonry work on the house, I had the old brick garage water sealed and 2 roof vents installed. The roofers also put patches in a couple of places that I did not know were bad.

Description of Work: I called and gave all my information to the woman on the phone who couldn't seem to understand anything I was saying. Since this company prefers to just drive by and make an estimate, I asked for an appointment. They didn't call me back for two weeks! By that time, I know I don't want to deal with them.

Description of Work: THEY PAINTED MY CORNICE (METAL ITALIANATE ON THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE).
