Hardy Glass Block Panels

A waterproofer recommended Hardy to us. The company was very responsive. Someone came right out and saw the windows (without us having to be home) and then promptly faxed us an estimate. They couldn't perform the work on the scheduled day b/c the supplies had not arrived, but we rescheduled and the worker arrived early, worked efficiently, and cleaned up afterward. The windows are really nice; a huge improvement over what we had previously.

Estimate went well. Haven't booked them yet.

They were very prompt and professional. The job is awesome and they pay attention to detail. They try to be as accommodating as possible.

They did really good, the price was very good, and they came when they said they would. We had a little problem with the cement and they came right out the next business day and fixed the problem.

Price was good, but on the morning of installation, I received a call saying they would be more than two hours late. When they arrived, they bulldozed their way into the house, using my furniture for step stools. They made a big mess and were inconsiderate of neighbors. The work they did is OK, but I didn't like their M.O.

I am happy with the work. They were professional and courteous. I would use them again in the future and would recommend them to others.

Excellent service. I received an estimate shortly after contacting them from an Angie's List recommendation. I was concerned because it was such a small job, but the work was performed quickly, professionally and the invoice came in under the estimate. The workers were very respectful of my home and cleaned up well after the repair.

We are very pleased with work performed. They look great.

I called mid-day and they sent an estimator ( the owner? ) later the same day. Thirty percent of total cost of job paid to start work, then balance paid at completion. Two men arrived at 7:30 a.m., and were very personable, professional and got right to work.

I called Hardy and requested an estimate for the glass block windows I needed. They came out and took the measurements and mailed me a proposal. They required 1/3 down and the balance when the job was completed. I accepted their proposal and mailed it back on July 5th. They called on July 9th and scheduled an appointment for July 13th. The workers arrived on time and did an excellent job. They cleaned up the debris and removed it.

The workers performed the work carefully, efficiently and professionally. They were courteous and arrived shortly before their scheduled time. Clean-up was satisfactory. I would highly recommend them to others.

Their service was great. Just terrific. They're on time and the price is very reasonable A+. They're very good and the know what they're doing and they clean up. They are quick, fast and on time. We had another quote for $1800 but Hardy Glass did it for $500. They are great to work with.

JAMES PARLIN CAME OUT TO DO THE ESTIMATE AND WAS ON TIME AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. TOLD US WHICH VENTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND WHICH WERE INSTALLED PROPERLY, FAXED THE ESTIMATE THE SAME DAY. I DID SOME PHONE RESEARCH TO COMPARE PRICES AND HARDY HAD THE BEST PRICE OF THE FOUR COMPANIES I CHECKED. I SPOKE TO MR. HARDY TO SCHEDULE THE WORK. THE WORKMEN, JAMES AND JAMES, SHOWED UP ON TIME, WERE EFFICIENT, KNOWLEDGEABLE, PROFESSIONAL AND DID A GREAT JOB. THEY CLEANED UP ALL DEBRIS AND LEFT MY HOUSE PRETTY MUCH AS THEY FOUND IT WITH GREAT NEW GLASS BLOCK VENTS!

IT WAS MIXED. THERE WAS AN INITIAL DELAY IN SCHEDULING THE WORK BECAUSE OF A MISCOMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE INSTALLERS AND THE PEOPLE WHO BUILT THE WINDOWS. THE WORKERS THEN MIS-INSTALLED A WINDOW, RESULTING IN TWO VENTS IN A ROOM IN WHICH I WANTED ONLY ONE, AND NO VENT IN A ROOM IN WHICH A VENT WAS QUITE IMPORTANT. THEY CAME BACK THE FOLLOWING DAY AND INSTALLED A VENT IN THE UNVENTED ROOM. THE CLEANUP WAS PRETTY INADEQUATE-- THEY MADE A POINT OF SAYING NO CLEANUP WOULD BE REQUIRED ON MY END. WHILE I DIDN'T EXPECT THAT LEVEL OF CLEANUP, I WAS UPSET BY THE FACT THAT THERE WERE PAINT CHIPS, GLASS SHARDS, AND PIECES OF BROKEN WOOD BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE MY HOUSE WHEN THEY WERE DONE. THEY ALSO BROKE TILES ON THE BATHROOM WINDOW SILL AND DID NOT TELL ME ABOUT IT OR OFFER TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE. THE WINDOWS DO SEEM TO BE OF HIGH QUALITY AND THEY LOOK GOOD FROM THE OUTSIDE. I WOULD PROBABLY NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

THE INSTALLER DID NOT CLEAN UP THE EXTERIOR DEBRIS FROM MY OLD WINDOWS. THE CONTRACT STATED THAT THE OLD WINDOWS AND RELATED DEBRIS WOULD BE STACKED IN MY GARBAGE AREA. OTHER THAN THIS MINOR ISSUE, MY EXPERIENCE WAS POSITIVE FROM THE ESTIMATING PROCESS TO THE INSTALLATION. IF THE DEBRIS WOULD HAVE BEEN CLEANED UP I WOULD HAVE RATED THEM AS AN "A".

THE SALES REP, JIM, RETURNED MY CALL PROMPTLY AND SCHEDULED A TIME TO REVIEW THE JOB AT MY HOUSE WHILE I WAS AT WORK. HE FOLLOWED THAT VISIT UP WITH A WRITTEN ESTIMATE WITHIN 48-HOURS. AFTER I PAID 1/3 DOWN, JIM CONTACTED ME RIGHT AWAY TO SCHEDULE THE WORK (WAS WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF ORDER). 2-MAN CREW ARRIVED PROMPTLY AND COMPLETED THE JOB WITHIN 3 HOURS. ONE OF MY WINDOWS WAS IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM AND INCLUDED A WATER LINE TO THE OUTSIDE. THEY DID A WONDERFUL JOB INCORPORATING THIS INTO THE GLASS BLOCK WINDOW (ANOTHER COMPANY HAD TOLD ME THAT THIS COULD NOT BE DONE AND THAT THE WATER LINE WOULD HAVE TO BE RELOCATED BY A PLUMBER). ALL DEBRIS WAS STACKED NEATLY AT THE CURB, AND THE INSTALLATION WAS NEAT AND PROFESSIONALLY DONE. I WOULD DEFINITELY HIRE THIS FIRM AGAIN.

I ASKED FOR THE BID IN FEBRUARY, BUT DUE TO PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES I WAS UNABLE TO SCHEDULE THE WORK UNTIL AUGUST. THEY WERE ABLE TO PULL MY FILE UP RIGHT AWAY AND AS SOON AS THEY HAD MY DEPOSIT THEY SCHEDULED ME THE NEXT WEEK. THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE AT MY HOUSE BETWEEN 9 AND 9:30 BUT DID NOT ARRIVE UNTIL 10:20. THEY BEGAN WORKING RIGHT AWAY AND TOOK NO BREAKS. THEY FINISHED AROUND 1:30- AND IT LOOKED GREAT. THEY CLEANED UP PERFECTLY AND EVEN KEPT THE OLD WINDOWS INTACT - WHICH I HAD ASKED FOR WHEN I SENT IN THE DEPOSIT BUT FORGOT TO ASK FOR WHEN THEY ARRIVED. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE QUALITY OF THEIR WORK, AND IF I NEEDED ADDITIONAL GLASS BLOCKS I WOULD CALL THEM AGAIN.

INSTALLER WAS LATE, BUT CALLED TO NOTIFY US. INSTALLER WAS EXCELLENT (SEE BRYAN GLASS BLOCK FOR REPORT), BUT CHALLENGED BY HARDY MISTAKES. ONE WINDOW DELIVERED W/A CHIPPED GLASS BLOCK (ACCEPTED FOR A $25 CREDIT). LIMESTONE SILLS WERE NOT ORDERED PROMPTLY, SO START OF 2ND DAY WAS DELAYED AS WELL, THEN WERE FOUND TO HAVE BEEN INACCURATELY MEASURED. OVERALL QUALITY OF WINDOWS WAS EXCELLENT, AS WAS ULTIMATE INSTALLATION. HARDY USES HIGH QUALITY PITTSBURGH CORNING AND GERMAN BLOCK - OTHERS USE INDONESIAN BLOCK WHICH IS OF LESSER QUALITY. I'LL GO DIRECT TO SUBCONTRACTOR FOR ANY FURTHER WORK, BUT WILL INSIST THEY USE HARDY'S PRODUCT.

BRYAN CAME OUT TO DO THE ESTIMATE. I DIDN'T HAVE TO BE HERE. THEY FAXED IT BACK, BUT THERE WAS AN ERROR IN THE NUMBER OF WINDOWS. I CALLED AND HAD THEM COME BACK WHICH THEY DID PROMPTLY. THIS TIME I FAXED THEM OVER A DRAWING OF THE BASEMENT WINDOWS. THE ESTIMATE CAME BACK AND WAS PRECISE, AND WITHIN MY BUDGET. I SCHEDULED THE WORK, THEY ARRIVED ON TIME, DID THE WORK, CLEANED UP WELL. THEY MANAGED TO BREAK ONE OF THE OLD BLOCKS IN THE BATHROOMS, BUT CAME BACK AND REPLACED IT QUICKLY. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE WORK, THE NEW WINDOWS, AND PLAN TO HAVE THEM DO SOME MORE IN THE AUTUMN. MY NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR WAS ALSO IMPRESSED, AND MAY HAVE THEM DO SOME WORK.

THE ESTIMATE WAS PREPARED AND SENT TO ME IN A TIMELY FASHION. THEY INCLUDED ESTIMATES ON SEVERAL THINGS THEY NOTICED THAT WOULD NEED DONE (THAT WAS GOOD BUSINESS!), BUT THAT I HADN'T MENTIONED. THE WORKERS WERE A TINY BIT LATE ON THE DAY OF THE JOB, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO MY DAY. THE WORK WAS DONE QUICKLY, CLEANLY AND WELL, AND THE FELLAS WERE OFF TO THEIR NEXT TASK. I WOULD DEFINITELY USE THEM FOR MORE WORK!

THEY WERE TOTALLY PROFESSIONAL, EXTREMELY EFFICIENT, AND THEY DIDN'T LEAVE A MESS BEHIND.

ON-TIME, VERY NICE, CLEANED UP WELL. THEY PRESENTED ME WITH VENTING IDEAS I HAD NOT EVEN CONSIDERED. WE ARE VERY HAPPY WITH THE WINDOW.

THE WINDOW ITSELF IS NICE, BUT THE INSTALLERS DID A VERY SLOPPY JOB. WHEN TAKING OUT EXISTING WINDOW FRAME THEY SMASHED OUT THE WINDOW WITHOUT COVERING THE FLOOR FIRST. THEY YANKED THE WINDOW FRAME SO HARD THAT THEY DISLODGED SOME BATHROOM TILES AND DID NOT OFFER TO REPAIR THIS. I HAD TO PAY SOMEONE ELSE TO DO THE REPAIR. THE INSTALLATION OF THE WINDOW COULD HAVE BEEN DONE BETTER AND WITHOUT SUCH DISRESPECT FOR MY PROPERTY. I WOULD HAVE APPRECIATED A BETTER CLEAN-UP METHOD AND WILL NOT HIRE THEM AGAIN.

THEY ARE A VERY REPUTABLE COMPANY. THE MAN CAME OUT AND HE WAS VERY EXPERIENCED AND UP FRONT. THEY STUCK TO THEIR ESTIMATES. THE WORKERS DID A GREAT JOB! THE WORK LOOKS BEAUTIFUL, THEY ARE VERY QUALIFIED AND CAPABLE PEOPLE. WE ARE VERY SATISFIED!

THEY CLEANED UP EVERYTHING, THEY WERE PROMPT AND ONE OF THE FIRST PEOPLE TO GET BACK TO ME WITH AN ESTIMATE AND THEY HAD THE BEST PRICES!
