I was very impressed by Bart and the excellent suggestions he made that helped to cut my cost. The Granite Design team arrived on time, finished more quickly than I expected and left me with a clean kitchen. My son is a professional tiler in MN and is very particular about the way work is done. He raved about the job granite design did and said it was one of the best granite jobs he's seen.

I was just about to give up shopping around for the best price for granite countertops and Angies List recommended Bart from Granite Design. Price was really good compared to HOBO, Home Depot and other small granite companies. I was able to go pick out the slab of granite I wanted for my counter. Overall process was great, fast, and easy, all at a great price.

In a word, these guys are amazing. Bart clearly has built his brand on lightening-fast customer service at an unbeatable price, and he does not disappoint. We first contacted him for fabrication of our kitchen countertops -- he was out promptly to measure and quote us a price, and the countertops were installed within a matter of days. The price he gave us was less than half that of a competitor -- and that was for top-quality granite in a brushed finish, from a granite yard not known for its low prices. I am not sure how he was able to do that, but I am not complaining! The installation was done in a matter of hours and we were exceedingly pleased with the results. A week or so later, I started looking for a new granite countertop in Costa Esmeralda for our bath. Costa Esmeralda, again, is not a cheap stone -- a competitor quoted us $950 for the piece, installed! I contacted Bart the next day -- his quote: $250. For fast, beautiful work, I might add. Finally, we needed two additional stones: a piece of marble for a ledge in our bath area, and a granite threshold for the entrance to the shower. When I contacted Granite Design I was told they were extremely busy (I thought, "Of course -- word is getting out!") and they told me it might take 10 days to get the pieces cut and polished. In actuality, it took four days. Again: beautiful work, fast turnaround, great prices (I paid $160 for the two miscellaneous pieces). This firm was one of the finds of our large home renovation project -- I would recommend them to anyone looking for stone for their home.

Bart provided by far the lowest estimate and the countertops were installed in less than a day. His workforce is simply the most professional I have had the pleasure of knowing in Chicago, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. The place was clean and beautiful afterwards, we paid exactly what was quoted and, in short, this is an outstanding company.

After reading numerous good reviews, we contacted Bart about replacing the existing countertop in our small kitchen with granite as well as placing a granite top on a built-in cabinet. He responded promptly and came to our home to hear what we were looking for, measure, and discuss the options. We told him that we were flexible on installation date, but that we were hoping to utilize a granite remnant in order to save on the cost. He emailed us an estimate that included 2 price options: 1) installation of a new slab of any of several different types of standard granite slabs; 2) a lower price for use of a granite remnant. Bart directed us to a warehouse granite supplier to view a large selection of available granite slabs at various price points. While at the warehouse, we identified several granite styles that appealed to us. We noted the granite names, color schemes, and patterns. We let Bart know the general colors that we liked and asked him to notify us if/when he had a comparable remnant. In the weeks that followed, Bart must have sent us over a dozen emails with pictures of granite remnants that came into his shop. We visited his shop a couple of times to view potential granite remnants. Eventually, a lovely piece of bianco antique became available. Not only was the remnant a perfect match for our kitchen, but bianco antique was a significant upgrade over the basic granite styles that were in our price range had we selected a new slab of granite. So, thanks to Bart's patience we were able to get the perfect piece of granite at a great price. Bart supplied us with a catalogue of sinks of various sizes and configurations. After looking at sink options online, we selected one of the sinks from Bart's supplier catalogue. Bart also recommended a reasonably priced plumber for the new faucet installation and the connection of our new garbage disposal. The installation itself went very smoothly. The Granite Design team removed our existing countertop, installed the new granite in 2 locations in our kitchen, and worked seemlessly with the plumber to ensure that our kitchen was looking great and was ready for our use later in the day. After the installation, we made one call to have someone return to recess and re-mount our dishwasher to the granite. Someone was out quickly to make that small adjustment. We couldn't be happier with our new kitchen countertops and the service that we received from Bart and the team at Granite Design of IL. We will use them again in our next home and we would recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their kitchen countertops.

I checked the list and came away impressed with the reviews. Friends of mine also worked with Bart for their kitchen countertops and also expressed complete satisfaction with their work. I called for an estimate and Bart came out on schedule and on time. His quote was the best of five other business I contacted. He carefully measured and "scribed" the layout since my walls were not perfect or square. I really appreciated the attention to detail and suggestions for edge types and overhangs. He asked if he could install the finished countertop the NEXT DAY! He caught me totally off guard as others indicated it could take "a week or two". Reason was that his schedule had him traveling/installing in the southern portion of Chicago in a few days and wanted to accomodate me sooner. That was very refreshing to hear from a customers' point of view. Well, circumstances at another job prevented him from installing the top the next day but he called me promptly and promised installing the following day, which he did. His crew arrived right on time and went about their business in a very professional manner. The finished product was fantastic and they cleaned up afterwards. I really appreciated the attention to detail and precision cuts to match my imperfect walls. Safe to say that I am very happy with their service and would recommend them to everyone.

They were really, really good. Bart was the sales contact and he was extremely helpful. He came out a couple of times and did all of the sizing, layout and configuration. They were one of the best. They were courteous, professional and prompt. They were right on top of it. They were excellent even through all the installation. They led us to the right granite place. I would highly recommend them.

Bart came out and did some measuring. Gave us a quote, we agreed upon a price and he told us to go an visit the granite factory and pick out our color. We picked out a color and within days his crew was back to replace our kitchen counter and sink. What a great job his crew did, they were very nice and finished the entire project within two hours. Great work, it is refreshing to have someone take pride in their work. I/we highly recommend their company. Plus they have great prices.

I can't say enough about how easy it was to work with this company. I was planning on getting three different estimates for this relatively small job but after dealing with Bart I just moved forward with his company. I emailed my initial request and Bart responded within the hour, quickly gave me an estimate based on the size of the countertop I needed and fabricated and installed the countertop within a week or so. Because the size of the countertop that I needed was so small Bart let me pick out a remnant from his shop and gave me the granite for free. In fact, it was cheaper for me to use his granite than use my own (I did have a remnant myself that I was planning on using) since he didn't have to pick up my piece ($250 vs the $175 that I paid). All in all it was a surprisingly easy experience especially since it is sometimes difficult to get good service for a small job like mine. By the way his installer was also excellent....arrived on time, cleaned up any mess afterwards and was as pleasant and professional as can be. Call Bart the next time you need granite.

Our experience with Granite Design was excellent. Our order was very small - Bart W. suggested that we go their workplace to select the piece that we'd like (given that we needed only a small piece, we were able to select from pieces that were in the shop). A few days later someone arrived to take measurements, and after only about a week from our selecting the stone, they arrived to install. Installation was beautiful. We were amazed by their responsiveness and the quality of their service and their competitive pricing - particularly, in light of our small project. If or when we're able to undertake a kitchen remodel, I would contact Granite Design first. I highly recommend them.

You are an absolute idiot if you don't use Granite Design of IL. From start to finish Bart and his team are incredible. Bart is very responsive, friendly and uses technology well - often communicating via email from his iphone. Getting little updates is very helpful, especially when you're going through a two-month renovation. Granite Design was able to secure two slabs of CaesarStone for my project, even when all the slabs were spoken for. Their sourcing relationships are strong. The workmen are extremely clean, put down tarps and are very careful around your home & belongings. The island is stunning. They were also able to cut one piece for a more than 9-foot buffet, and install it perfectly in between a fireplace and wall. During installation I had to leave, but they cleaned everything up and locked up the house. Their pricing was extremely aggressive - and quite honestly, the experience with them is worth paying more.

Granite Design was very helpful in me finding a great deal on a piece of granite for my tiny kitchen. There were no remnants immediately available that matched, but I did find an "orphan" slab that was perfect and the price was right. Bart came out and measured on a Saturday morning, and the install was about a week later. Everything went very smoothly. All three installers were pleasant and did and great job and cleaned up after themselves. I did instruct them to carry the slab up the back stairs, but they came in the front. Luckily no one saw them or decided to call me on it (condo rules). There was a small scratch that I found the next day, and Bart was able to send someone out to fix it for no charge. Looks great! I love my new counter, and the smooth process was a welcome relief after a nightmare cabinet install. :) I would use them again in a heartbeat.

We did a kitchen remodel and were looking to install granite countertops. We got quotes from other companies, none were as low as Bart. After looking them up on Angies list and saw all the positive reviews, we decided to go with them. They came in to measure and we had them installed within a week. There were a few minor differences that were not obvious on the plans we sent in for the quote, but Bart honored the original quote (he easily could have raised his price). The install went well and the countertops look great! We have received many complements on them. My biggest question was how it would look going around a column and it is great, it looks like a single solid piece. We are very pleased with everything.

The quality and price for Granite Design is excellent. Bart came to measure and was extremely thorough. His team of workers could not have been more professional. Phone calls were either picked up or returned promptly. They also had a good list of places for selecting granite. The entire process was very easy and the attention to detail was keen. I have recommended Granite Design to others and would use them again in a heartbeat.

Bart was extremely professional and very easy to work with from the beginning. I work out of town in California 4 days a week and he was very flexible and responsive both via email and phone to coordinate the work while I was out. While there were some delays when we were first scheduled to meet for an estimate, the office consistently kept me apprised of the situation and was very apologetic for any inconvenience. Their estimate was considerably lower than competitors. Once I had received the estimate, I was quickly able to select a slab of granite from the warehouse, and turnaround time to get the work complete done and installed was approximately a week. I initially had some trouble finding a reasonable plumber to attach the faucet when the counters were in, and while Bart's first referred plumber was unavailable, he went above and beyond to find another good plumber and worked with him directly to ensure that all work was done promptly. His crew was extremely punctual - early, in fact, that they had arrived before I was home. The work was completed in less than 2 hours and was very precise. Imperfections and unevenness in the cabinets that had previously existed were corrected and accounted for with accurate measurements. I would recommend this company to anyone who is looking to install new granite countertops.

Bart stopped by a day or two after our original contact with him to measure the countertops and provide names of places to pick out granite. The workman accidentally damaged the range hood and they ordered and installed us a new one. Great responsiveness. I highly recommend this company.

Bart was super easy to work with and very responsive. We were looking for carrara marble and he happened to have some left over from a previous job. We didn't need much so it worked out really well. He came over twice to measure because of some sizing issues with the sink we picked out. Everything was right on time and they were very quick with the install. The countertop was sealed once it was installed and we're very happy with how it came out. Would definitely work with Bart again.
