BEN D. SETTLED THE DISPUTE AFTER SOME HAGGLING BY REFUNDING THE MONEY FOR THE SERVICE CALL. FOUR SEASONS WERE VERY QUICK TO RESPOND TO MY CALL. THE SERVICE PERSON WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND HELPFUL. ON THE OTHER HAND, THE FEW SECONDS NEEDED TO TAKE THE INFORMATION I OFFERED TO GIVE ON THE PHONE WOULD HAVE ELIMINATED ALL MISUNDERSTANDING AND THE UNNECESSARY SERVICE CALL. I INCLUDED THE OFFICE WORK IN EVALUATING THE QUALITY OF THE WORK. AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRES, I WOULD BE COMFORTABLE USING THE COMPANY FOR REPAIR WORK.
Description of Work: THE DISPATCHER FAILED TO TAKE MY WARRANTY INFORMATION ALTHOUGH I WAS PREPARED TO GIVE IT. THE SERVICE PERSON THAT WAS SENT OUT INFORMED ME THAT FOUR SEASONS DOES NOT DO WARRANTY WORK ON MY BRAND. HE WAS REQUIRED TO CHARGE ME FOR THE SERVICE CALL AND GAVE ME INFORMATION TO REPORT A POSSIBLE DISPUTE.

FOUR SEASONS CORRECTLY IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM AND SOLVED IT QUICKLY. THEY CALLED BEFORE THEY ARRIVED WHICH I APPRECIATED.

THE REPAIRMAN INFORMED ME THAT THE THERMOSTAT WAS BAD, AND WIRING. COST: $160 THERMOSTAT, $89 WIRING, AND $65 FOR THE SERVICE CALL. I WAS APPALLED. A THERMOSTAT COSTS $40. I FIXED THE THERMOSTAT. THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE WIRE. ALL THAT NEEDED TO HAPPEN WAS THE WIRES NEEDED TO BE REJOINED. ON THE ESTIMATE PAPER IT GAVE ME, IT LISTS MISCELLANEOUS FOR THE WIRE. HE DID NOT EVEN LIST THE WIRE REPAIR UNDER WIRE REPAIR. I FEEL LIKE HE WAS TRYING TO RIP ME OFF.

WE HAD USED THIS COMPANY FOR MANY YEARS FOR ANNUAL SERVICING AND HAD ALWAYS RECEIVED EXCELLENT SERVICE. THIS LAPSE WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING (AND, AFTER MISSING WORK TO WAIT FOR APPOINTMENTS, IT WAS AGGRAVATING). IT WAS AS IF THE COMPANY JUST DID NOT WANT TO PERFORM THE WORK FOR THE PRICE QUOTED. TO BE FAIR, WHEN WE REQUESTED A REFUND OF OUR DEPOSIT, THE COMPANY RETURNED IT TO US VERY PROMPTLY.
Description of Work: WE RECEIVED AN ESTIMATE (AND PAID A DEPOSIT) FOR INSTALLATION OF A CHIMNEY LINER ($550 JOB). THE COMPANY WOULD NEVER SHOW UP TO PERFORM THE WORK. WE SCHEDULED ABOUT 5 APPOINTMENTS, AND THEY FAILED TO SHOW EVERY TIME, WITHOUT A PHONE CALL. WHEN WE FOLLOWED UP,THEY CLAIMED TO EITHER NOT HAVE HAD THE APPOINTMENT IN THEIR RECORDS OR THAT THERE WAS SOME CONFUSION WITH THE PAPERWORK,ETC.

THEY INITIALLY SET A TIME FRAME FOR THE FIRST VISIT, REQUIRING THAT I LEAVE WORK EARLY. THEY WERE AN HOUR LATE, MEANING I MISSED WORK FOR NO REASON. THE SERVICE PERSON WAS INEXPERIENCED, AND HAD TO CALL A SUPERVISOR FOR ADVICE, BUT WASN'T ABLE TO COMPLETE SEVERAL TASKS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE. BECAUSE OF TEMPERATURES, A RETURN VISIT IS REQUIRED SOON, AND DURING SPECIFIC TIME FRAMES. AFTER BEING PROMISED THAT A SUPERVISOR WOULD ARRANGE HIS SCHEDULE TO MEET THESE NEEDS, AND TAKING MORE TIME OFF WORK, I'M TOLD THAT THEY MAY NOT BE ABLE TO MEET THAT COMMITMENT, AND MY TIME MAY AGAIN BE WASTED. I'M QUITE FRUSTRATED AND DISAPPOINTED. THEY ARE CHARGING 300% PERCENT MORE FOR A PART THAN THEIR COMPETITORS, WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO ASSURE ME THAT THE PART IS THE CAUSE OF MY PROBLEMS, AND THEY INDICATED THEY THREW THE OLD PART OUT AT MY REQUEST WHICH IS WRONG. THE TECH WAS GOING TO LEAVE THE UNIT OPEN TO THE ELEMENTS, WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED MORE DAMAGE, UNTIL I MADE HIM PUT IT BACK TOGETHER.

WE SENT FOLLOW-UP INFO AND WERE TOLD WE WOULD HAVE A QUOTE IN A FEW DAYS. THAT WAS THREE WEEKS AGO. THE PROCESS OF SETTING UP AND RECEIVING THE ESTIMATE WAS SMOOTH, PROMPT, AND PROFESSIONAL. CLEARLY LAID OUT OPTIONS AND LEFT PRICING INFORMATION THAT ALLOWED US TO REFLECT ON WHAT WE WANTED TO GO WITH. THE INSTALLERS ARRIVED ON TIME AND STAYED ALL DAY TO FINISH THE JOB. THEY EXPLAINED THE EQUIPMENT AND OPERATIONS CLEARLY AND DID NOT RUSH US. WE'RE HAPPY WITH THE JOB OVERALL AND THE EQUIPMENT. THERE WERE A FEW BUGS: 1) HUMIDIFIER TEMPERATURE PROBE THAT GOES TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE WAS INSTALLED RIGHT NEXT TO DRYER VENT SO THAT WOULD GIVE INACCURATE READINGS. 2) CONCRETE SLAB FOR OLD COMPRESSOR NOT HAULED AWAY 3) VILLAGE INSPECTOR FOUND SEVERAL CODE VIOLATIONS; SUPPLEMENTAL AIR VENT NEEDED, CIRCUIT BREAKER WITH LOWER RATING NEEDED, HANGERS FOR EXHAUST DUCTING NEEDED. ALL OF THESE ITEMS WERE RESOLVED TO OUR SATISFACTION. IT DID TAKE A FEW WEEKS THOUGH AS THEY ORDERED THE WRONG AIR VENT AND HAD TO COME BACK AGAIN. WE WERE HAPPY AND WOULD GIVE ALL A'S IF NO RETURN TRIPS NEEDED.

WE HAD SEVERAL OTHER ESTIMATES FOR THE JOB AND WE FELT THAT FOUR SEASONS PRICE WAS FAIR. OUR SALESMAN WAS JOHN COGGINS. HE TOOK THE TIME TO ANSWER ALL OUR QUESTIONS. THIS IS A BIG COMPANY AND WE FEEL CONFIDENT THAT IF WE EVER NEED SERVICE, THEY WILL BE THERE FOR US.
Description of Work: REPLACED OUR 15 YR. OLD FORCED AIR FURNACE WITH A TWO STAGE TRANE FURNACE. THE JOB INCLUDED A NEW THERMOSTAT AND APRILAIRE FURNACE FILTER. THE 'A' COIL FOR A NEW AIR CONDITIONER TO BE PUT IN NEXT SPRING, WAS ALSO INSTALLED.

'ENGINEER' WAS VERY GOOD AT SIZING THE UNITS TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION DUCT SIZE, NUMBER OF DUCTS, NUMBER OF ROOMS, ETC. PERFORMANCE OF UNITS MET THE PLAN.

STUNNING KNOWLEDGE AND SERVICE. MOST EVERYONE ELSE (4 COMPANIES) TRIED TO SELL ME WHAT I ASKED (FURNACE A/C) FOR NOT WHAT I NEEDED. I ASKED EACH COMPANY FOR AN ENGINEER TO COME PROVIDE DETAILED SPECS. ONLY FOUR SEASONS PROVIDED A REAL ENGINEER WHO DID REAL CALCS...NOT JUST GUESSES.
