Four Seasons Heating & Air Conditioning

We got our unit changed in 2010 and we have a lifetime contract with them. The contract was free, it came when we purchased the A/C and furnace; they come and clean the furnace out. Their price is most competitive. We got a great deal with the price and lifetime contract, that was seven years ago. They're professional.

They did a pretty good job. I haven't used them since. I don't use it that much in the summer. I see advertisements on regarding prices and both units for $3000 some but I thought it was a pretty good price to put in the unit that I do have. When they installed the system the installer of the control panel, he did an excellent job on it because I previously had another type of control unit that controlled the heat. He did the best that he could with it. He spent a lot of time on it and was finally able to get it so that I could change from heat to cooling when needed. As far as putting the unit in, installing everything and setting it up I would give them an A. They were here and I didn't have to call them again to ask where are the installers.

They have done a lot of work in this house and my other house. They do a lot of other services but I just use them for heating and air. They have various locations with different telephone numbers to call. They did a routine check. It is a new system. We moved in here 3 years ago and everything was new. They always call after someone has come just to check that everything was okay and to thank you for your business which I think was a nice gesture. They were on time in the window that they gave me. They always put booties on their feet when they are in the house. They are careful of my personal property. I am satisfied. They could give me a smaller window. They give a 4-5 window maybe a 2-3 hour window.

They have done a lot for me in this house and my old house.

I would not suggest ever purchasing doors or windows from Four Seasons. I had three doors and two windows installed by the company several months ago and there have been multiple issues. From having the incorrect door initially installed to having varying colors of trim installed to not being consistent with installation practices, there have just been one too many issues (they actually suggested I call a repair company). I have used the company for my water heater, furnace and some plumbing and have only had good experiences. The lack of support and willingness to help fix my door issues is a huge disappointment. I don't think this is their expertise and would advise using another company focused on good work and support in this area.

They're a local Chicago land company. Generally we've been pretty pleased with them. They have excellent service. We had one issue with one air conditioner we bought from them but they've been great about servicing it and everything else. They have different locations that service different areas. Their service is amazing. Their service is fantastic. We've bought several heating and air conditioning units from them but we've had several problems with one unit that we purchased from them. That is not really a service issue but it's more of an equipment issue and they've been great about servicing it. This just one of several we have purchased from them over the years and it's the only trouble we've ever had and they've been great about it.

My experience with this company has been awful. They came to install a boiler at a rehab project but could not due to chimney issues. It was December, so they drained the system and assured me it would be fine. They did not offer or suggest to winterize the system. Within a week, five radiators burst. They claimed there was nothing that could have been done to prevent it and I was liable. Seven months and thousands of dollars later... It has been a constant headache getting everything fixed. Half of the new radiators they installed leaked due do product defects or improper installation, and I have had a steady stream of technicians coming in and out. It is now July, and the heating system is still not working. I hired this company because they had done work for me at another property a few years back. Well, the a/c unit at that property stopped working a few weeks ago. Assuming it was under warranty, I called them to fix it. I was then informed that, since I didn't pay for their service plan, the warranty was voided. Ridiculous.

My furnace went out and needed to be replaced. Four Seasons is very prompt and a large well known company, but they are significantly more expensive than the competition and use many gimmicks in their pricing. A service technician came to provide a quote which was over $5,000 for a top of the line Lennox 2-stage variable speed furnace. After I commented that it seems expensive and that I will have to think about it, the technician said that he can check with his manager regarding a "Fourth of July Special". He then came back with a price of $4,300 for the same unit, but said that the price was only available before he left. This is ridiculous and they are obviously trying to prevent price shopping because they know their prices are sky high. I then spoke to his manager who confirmed the price and told me that I can call back anytime and receive the price (some one time 4th of July Special). I then reached out to several other Chicago area HVAC providers for quotes. I received quotes for the exact same unit with the same warranty for $3,500 and also $3,800. Needless to say, I did not use Four Seasons for the replacement, but had to pay an $85 service fee for them to come out. The provider that I used did an excellent job. In my opinion, there is no need to use Four Seasons unless you have a pile of money to burn. I believe Four Seasons has some sort of price match, but I never inquired after receiving other quotes, as I'd rather use a company that is straight forward and doesn't use infuriating sales gimmicks.

I got a service agreement with them. They were very responsive. I had a question about the new thermostat and they walked me through it. They came out a second time to help me figure out an issue I was having with the thermostat. It is one of those smart ones and I am not that smart about it.

They're the only ones I've been using pretty much for any kind of plumbing problems or A/C and heating. The water was running, and it wouldn't stop. They came out and gave me an estimate of how much it would cost. They asked me if I wanted to replace both toilets, but it was something on the inside, They replaced the part inside of the toilet. I thought the price was kind of high. I felt like just for such a small thing, it shouldn't cost so much. He responded right away, they always do.

They also do other things. We used them to put on new fascia and soffit. We're very pleased with them. We only go with people who can give us the best deal. They're professional and on time. They clean up. They gave us the product we asked for. We had a new sliding glass door put in and I think they did that as well.

Work done in a timely, quality manner at competitive price.

Liner was installed, however the squirrels were not all removed causing them to chew through thin aluminum liner and chimney cap ($1795) only one day later. Had separate rodent removal company take care of squirrels and another one to repair separate furnace problem. Also I had to replace chimney cap with a steel one from Home Depot. Four Seasons sent another tech to verify the damage to the brand new liner only to say "We must have GHETTO SQUIRRELS" but he confirmed the liner damage but customer service refused to complete contract and repair because this was "act of God" situation. I was without heat several days during the process and spent over $2500 dollars to only have two holes in my liner to this day.

I found their plumbing rates to be rather absorbent, but I think it's what the market will bare. When you need a plumber you are not in the position to really negotiate too much. You need something fixed right away. I would not give them the job, based on the quote that they gave me. That was if I provided my own fixture. Four Seasons is really air conditioning, but they seemed to branch out into other areas. It was heating and air conditioning originally. I'd imagine they do fairly good work. I would not use the individual that the provider sent to my home. Sometimes good companies have irresponsible people working for them. If they would have said I guy was coming to Chicago with an Indiana license, which was not current he had the audacity to show it to me. That is why they got the grade on that particular individual.

It was a good experience. They were quick. They were here on time, and they were responsive.

We have used them in the past fairly consistently. We have always had a positive experience with them. One person came out and it took under an hour.

I haven't done the air conditioning maintenance this summer because it is new.

Short Story: Things went well after clarifying requirements with customer service. Professional people, prompt service, and cold AC this time around. Long Story: My AC was no longer blowing cold air and it took a few technicians from different companies to come out and isolate the issue to a refrigerant leak. After debating pricing and warranties with different companies including Four Seasons (FS), a FS customer service representative reached out to me to resolve my situation. The FS team was very professional over the phone and in person and worked hard to earn my business. A technician was dispatched the very next day and a fair price was paid to completely resolve my valve issue on the spot. After reviewing my issue with three companies, AC refrigerant leaks are problematic and warranties are serious business when dealing with expensive equipment. In my case my warranty lapsed, my system required additional refrigerant, and valve repair/replacement which is no small task when factoring in the cost of refrigerant and labor (estimates were $250 - $1,500). FS worked with me to resolve my AC issue, provide next day service, a one year warranty, and a discount. Note: The FS team has a flat upfront charge to repair a coolant leak, which may seem expensive at first, however this charge includes labor, parts, and coolant. In my particular situation FS ended up being the most cost efficient solution in terms of cost and timing due to their unique pricing model as some companies charge the above items separately and do not warehouse their own parts. A one year warranty is great piece of mind in the middle of a hot summer as well.

I use them all the time. They're always on time and they clean up. They are reasonable on price. So far knock on wood they've just had to clean the furnace and the air conditioner in the fall and the spring.

Installation Technician was well trained, and polite and professional. Technician knew exactly what to do. Brought the hot water lines/heater water line up to code. Called them in the morning for a quote, accepted the price and work completed early evening, same day I called. Actual updated gas/water piping work was excellent. The reason I gave them a "B" on quality was that they installed a water heater made in Mexico. If they would of told me that, up front, I would have asked for a water heater made in the USA. I live and work in the USA. I do not believe in spending my money on products made in foreign nations! (I supposed I could have asked for county of origin, but I needed the hot water now, and did not think to ask!) For a hot water heater, made dirt cheap in Mexico (which I learned after installation), I thought the price was on the high side.

While doing an AC clean and check, the "technician" said I needed a Run Capacitor for the blower motor. I asked how much, and he quoted me a price of over $200!! Since I did not know if that was a fair price I said OK. When I asked for the old part, he said he couldn't give it to me, that he needed it for "inventory". So I took a photo of the item. While he worked on the outside unit I priced the item online. It sells for less than $12 everywhere. When I confronted the tech and gave him the opportunity to "re-check" the price, he insisted the price was correct. I told him I was not paying for the new part and to put the old part back in. Later, I called FOUR SEASONS to register my concern and to see if they stood behind that outrageous pricing - and to my surprise - THEY DID! They told me I was paying for the technician's expertise at installing the item and the lifetime guarantee. Well it took the tech all of one minute to "install" the item. I told the rep on the phone they had just lost a long-time customer .

The price is reasonable and average. We have had them for several years. They have done great work. They are always punctual. We would definitely use them again.

They come out a couple of times a year.
