Faithful Fences

I had read so many good things about this company on Angie's List and when I met with Jim I was very pleased. I was also impressed that they were a "customized" shop. Unfortunately we did not get the finished product we were looking for. At the front of the house, the fence was installed incorrectly. We wanted an open fence and it was "board on board." Our fence was rounded and the pieces at the back of the house and next to the garage were left straight - a very unfinished look. How could this have been overlooked? The gate was incorrect. It took forever to get Jim to return our phone calls. After two months we finally got a call from their office stating our account was past due only because we withheld payment because the job was not properly finished. Someone finally came out to correct the issues but I wish now I would have gone with a competitor who actually did follow up with us after his initial sales call. Would NOT recommend this company.

They were very good, showed up when they were supposed to, great work ethic, and nice people.

The only problem that I had with them was with the salesman- he was not responsive to call backs. To get somewhere, deal with the people in the office once you have an estimate. Other than that, I think they did a nice job and they cleaned up afterwards. The fence looks great!

Work went great. Jim Chmielinski responded quickly to our request for an estimate, was detailed in his explanation of the possible solutions to the our problem. Work was performed quickly, to our expectations and the workers were very polite and efficient. Clean up after the work was great. We were very happy with the responsiveness of Faithful Fencing.

Salesman Jeff was helpful & available until after the sale. Following the sale,I was disappointed at every turn by Faithful Fences. Jeff promised the fence in 2-3 wks. After 3 wks, I called to check the status. (FF NEVER called me.) I was told that the manufacturer was delayed, & it would be another 2 weeks. I patiently waited another 2 wks, & called FF again. I was told that the fence materials were not ready, but would be soon ready, so they scheduled an install date for that Thurs. After waiting all day for the installers, I called FF on Thurs afternoon. The materials were still not in & the fence would not be installed that day. Finally after me calling FF daily, the fence was installed after 7 weeks of getting the "run around" from FF. On the day of the install, one gate was wrong size, so I had to wait 2 more weeks for the gate. Then, the installer put the gate latch on the outside of the gate, so anyone could open the gate from alley. He changed it at my request, but left hole.

After the decision was made to move forward with the job, a few days after the estimator came, I called again, twice in fact, to have the job done and never got a call back. I then realized that I would not want this company to work for me as their lack of follow up & professionalism spoke volumes, and never called them again.

Ended up never paying the remainder due of our fence, threatened with legal action if they came on our property. Job was terrible and inferior materials used, which is more and more apparent as time goes on. ** We had to pay another company to take out the cemented posts and reinstall so our car could fit through the gate. The concrete was as actually partially on the driveway, completely butted up against it and would've ripped off our mirrors had we left the posts there. They have a BBB rating of F!!!! BEWARE!!

My large side yard fence had become loose at the ground level and had caved in toward my yard 2 days before Christmas. I supported the fence with boards and thought I had temporarily fixed the problem. Then much to my horror, the fence started shifting this morning and started to fall toward my neighbor's yard. I knew I needed some expert help, so I called Faithful Fences in desperation asking if they could come out as soon as possible to shore up the fence before it fell down. After discussing the situation, Jim agreed to come out with a couple of men later in the day to fix the problem. They assessed the problem as rotting posts which I suspected, and the solution the group came up with was far more beautiful than I expected, and strong too. I was very grateful that Jim and his team responded so quickly so that I no longer had to worry about future wind storms this winter tearing it down.

Excellent price - and a very good fence at the end - and for sure would use again. However, I do wonder if they are not overbooked from our experience and reading some recent reviews. I say this because after a pleasant and good estimate meeting workers later showed up without calling in advance as agreed. They built a wonderful cedar fence (about 30 feet with 8 cement posts and a gate). But, it was a nice 6 foot privacy fence and we had agreed at end of day one to a 5 foot solid wood fence with a one foot trellis. Seems the work order never showed our "final fence" (even though it was confirmed day 1) - and the work side never called Jim - and thus we got a 6 footer vs. the type we agreed to. We called & Jim was very apologetic - and we got no argument - quick response - and a repair on site to 5 foot with a trellis. The end result was a solid fence - looking exactly as we wanted - well done - with friendly workers. But communication IMO was below the quality of the fence.

Everything went smoothly from start to finish. The quote was exactly on target and they were able to handle the entire job without any problem. Other people that I got a quote from for protecting the side of my house were nearly triple the cost of Faithful Fences and many other contractors wanted me to source the materials. This job was done in one day, with zero problem.

Overall, the construction of the fence is good, but the experience has been somewhat painful, as soon as I signed the contract, communication with this company has been difficult. They do not follow through with scheduled appointments or call back in a timely manner. After the first couple of blown appointments, Jim did agree to haul away some brush for me to make up for my troubles. But since then I have had to have them come back to repair a fence section that became loose, and NOW I am on my third repair for a stuck latch. They can not seem to get this latch fixed, and I doubt they they care to. My latest exchange is this (and this is typical): Call the office. They tell me Jim will call me. Two days, no Jim. I call Jim. His voice mailbox is full. I call the office again. Jim calls me the next day. Jim tells me someone will be out Saturday and that he will call me Friday to confirm. No call Friday. No one shows up Saturday. Today is Wednesday and still no call.

The fence looks great and was built to look exactly like the original sections, I thought their pricing was very fair and would use them again. I also found them to be very responsive when I had questions.

Nothing special. They are responsive and dependable.

Faithful Fences had the best estimate for this job. Professionalism is very important to me and these people were certainly professional. They came on time and did the work quickly and efficiently. I'm satisfied that the work product is fine. I've had no problems with the new gate lock box.

Faithful Fences was very accommodating to my requests and time schedule. The fence is about 30 feet long. I needed them to come back and make a couple of height adjustments. They were a little slow getting back to me, but they did come. There were a couple of times that I had trouble getting in contact with them. We are very happy with the fence now.

It was a great experience. A Sales Rep met w/ me and discussed several different options. We chose the fence style and scheduled the work to take place in a few weeks. The workers arrived on the scheduled day and did a great job. I was VERY pleased w/ the results. Moreover, when I hired a contractor a few weeks later that messed up the back gate, Faithful Fences came out and re-hung it (about a 2-hr job) for no charge. I would use them again in a heart beat and highly recommend them.

Definitely use them! You won't be sorry. They're great.

The salesperson, Jeff, was prompt, very nice and priced out a few options (vinyl, cedar and chain link with privacy slats) for me. He also made some suggestions on changing the way the new gates would open that would make them much easier to use. Jeff was not familiar with the code for fences in my town. I ended up selecting a company with a little lower price that does a lot of work in my town.

We made first contact with this company via email. We received a response 3 days later and were told that we would be contacted by phone from the owners son, soon. The son called the next day and we set up an appointment for the estimate. The son, Jeff showed up on time, we discussed our needs and he wrote us up an estimate before leaving. We paid a deposit that day(with peace of mind knowing he was an Angie's List top-scorer) and the work was performed as promised.

Weldtech does a great job at cleaning up after themselves. They take care not to damage the lawn and to leave materials lying around. I recommended them to my neighbor because they did such good work. Their prices depend on the type of materials but I think that they were very competitive.

They returned my call promptly and scheduled an estimator quickly. Estimator arrived on time and left written estimate with diagram. I have to take responsibility for changing my mind about how to relocate sections of the wrought iron fence around our backyard so that we could make a parking area. I changed my mind twice, and the estimator quickly got back to me with pricing. It took some time, but he also agreed to do the work by the date I needed it done. There were a couple of problems, though. The estimator incorrectly said the fence was 5 ft. tall when it was 6 ft., thus making me question the cost, which was $872 to relocate 45 ft of fence and add 20 ft. of matching fence. My final request was to relocate a total of 60 ft. of fence, which required new posts, and the cost was $1320. That just didn't seem right to me. I ended up canceling the work with them and choosing another fence company.

Their estimator (I think his name was Sammy) came out at the promised time. Several weeks have passed, and I still haven't received an estimate. My impression was that Sammy was brand new to the job. He didn't seem to know very much about fences, and I think I confused him. For example, he didn't know what "stepping a fence" means. (For lay people, this means building the fence so that there is no slope in its top rail, even though the ground level changes. As the ground level rises, panels are "stepped" up a few inches above the height of the adjacent panel, to adjust for the change; if a fence is built so that its top is kept exactly the same number of inches from the ground, to my mind it looks sloppy.) I was also concerned that I would be given a crew of Spanish speakers, with no one who could understand my instructions and translate. The estimator had never heard of postmasters.

They did what they said they would do. They gave me an excellent price and provided quality work. They explained everything clearly to me. They were on time. I would definitely hire them again.

They came out within a couple of days of me calling to give me an estimate. Then we needed to wait on the permit. Once we had that, we scheduled about a week out to complete the work. They confirmed I had electric and water outside and were able to do the job while I was working. Aside from the new fence, you would never even know they were here as they left it so clean. The only challenge I had was that we had a lot of weather to work around and I had to call them back a couple of times to work out a time.

This guy s work is excellent, he is very responsive and friendly. He finished the work in 2 days. On the second day, they ran a little late, he called me to give me a notice of this well in advance and they cleaned up very well. They even came back to put on a special handle that I wanted 3 weeks later.
