They did a good job. They came when they said they would. He was responsive to my phone call and returned it while he was on vacation. They cleaned up nicely when they were finished. I recommend them.

They were really professional. They did really good work. They were very trustworthy. Douglas himself came out and looked at the job. Other companies wouldn't send a man out, they just wanted us to talk over the phone. Douglas came and and he looked at everything. The guys that came out and did the work did a great job. We were very happy.

The gentleman who came over to our home to give us a bid said that he could not give us a bid at that time because of some details that he must have been uncomfortable with. He was on time and very professional with talking with us during this--however, the work on our home required rewiring (about $10,000 worth of work) and he did not seem anxious to gain our approval. We ended up using someone else as a result.

Great. The outlets look great in our kitchen and the switches work now. Very professional and friendly. I would definetely hire them again.

Doug came out quickly to do the estimate and we were able to schedule the work at my convenience. The electrician who did the work was reasonably efficient, but was not able to make the ceiling fan work. The other work went smoothly, though we are now having some trouble with one of the dimmers.

The electrician that came to the house was first-rate; efficient, professional and friendly. I found my interaction with the company over the phone to schedule the appointment to be slightly less customer friendly. I was hoping to get a more precise estimate for the work requested, but was told that would be hard to provide until someone came out to see the job. The actual charge was less than what I had anticipated based on the phone conversation, and fitting with my expectations. We would use this company again.

It was OK. They were a little more expensive than others and the work was satisfactory. They were very polite and friendly. They were also informative; he will find code violations that are not in dire need of repair. That implies that he will want to fix it to get more business.

He returned my call quickly, arrived on time, gave me an estimate then told his assistant what to do. The work was completed quickly and they cleaned up after themselves. It was a good experience without any problems.

His attitude was basically...you will use me or you wont use me. I just said I will get back to you. I wasn't pleased with how he handled the situation. How did he know that I didn't have other pending electrical services?

Doug arrived and we walked him around showing the various items that we needed completing. While he was receptive to the installation jobs, he seemed to come up with excuses for why other work could not be done or would be difficult. All in all, Doug was very informal and we did not find him forthcoming with information about the work we needed performed.

GREAT! Their estimate was in line with others, but I went with Douglas because I felt very comfortable with him. They did A LOT of work for us and it all went really smooth. The workers were courteous and friendly. I was expecting huge holes in the plaster walls that would need repair, but somehow they managed to keep repair work and mess to a minimum. Douglas took care of all the permits and explained all the current codes (my house dates back to 1928). The work took place in a timely fashion. Overall, I am a very satisfied customer and I will call on them again for future large projects.

Mr. Surovy came out promptly to do an estimate at my condo. When I showed him my space that I thought needed wiring work in order to accommodate a washer/dryer, Mr. Surovy helped me to realize that there was no space for venting the dryer. In the end, I ended up needing a ventless dryer, which required no wiring work and saved me money. I really appreciate that Mr. Surovy was looking out for my interests.

For the second year, my partners and I have purchased an older building to rehab. We contacted Douglas Electric to inspect the property and submit a bid. When my partner called to confirm the appointment on the day of the appointment, his call was returned two hours before the scheduled appointment. At that time, he was asked if Douglas Electric had submitted a bid for my partner on another property in 2007. When my partner confirmed that Douglas had indeed submitted a bid, he was told that the appointment was canceled because Douglas Electric does not submit a bid a second time if previous bids on other properties are not accepted. For an A-listed company on Angie's List, we were surprised by Douglas Electric's policy. This is a $20,000 job. Apparently, Douglas Electric does not need the work.

They are thorough about their work. They had the most favorable price and could get right to work. They follow up on their work. They will give you straight answers.

Job went well. Doug is courteous. He came out to see the job, made recommendations, provided a quote via email. We sent the contract back with 30% down and he ordered the parts. Doug's employees were easy to work with. They professional ran the conduit piping, drilled holes, and mounted switches. They did have to come back out once because one wire was not connected correctly but they came out quickly and took care of the issue.

The owner was very responsive and prompt in returning my call. They fit me in within the week. His employees showed up on time and did an excellent job. They were clean, competent, and worked diligently. They also offered constructive and helpful suggestions.

They were there when they said they 'd be there and didn't mess around. They got the work done. I would use them again.

The service man showed up as scheduled. He was nice. He was efficient. He was tidy. Overall a great job!

Several weeks after the installation, rainwater was leaking through from the outside of the house where they drilled the hole. This was a huge safety concern in addition to that damage it potentially was causing the internal structure of the wall. We used the units minimally over the first "cold" season. When turned on this fall, the thermostats were not working on either unit; the units only turned on if set at med-high, causing extreme overheating. When set to low nothing happened. They charged us $150 for the house call and approximately $100 in parts. It did absolutely nothing to solve the problem. Doug passed the buck to the manufacturer of the units, was unwilling to do anything other than replace the units at our cost and curtly denied any responsibility for the shoddy product he sold us after he confidently told us they were exactly what we were looking for.

The work was completed in a half day. Doug and his crew were on time and completed the job in an efficient and workmanlike manner. The cable was installed as per the specifications of the manufacturer who had a rep. come out to view the building to determine what was needed prior to Douglas installing the cable and the electrical work necessary.

Doug came out promptly upon calling him. He was able to do all our electric projects, even those others thought were too hard to do. He provided an estimate via email and mail within two days. Electrical work tends to run high, but given the quality of his work, I think his pricing was fair. Doug showed up with two guys, on time and they did great work. Excellent service, very professional company. I would definitely use them again and recommend them highly.

I am very pleased with the work. Doug came promptly to give me an estimate and, after I hired the company, he arrived with his crew and briefed them in detail about what needed to be done. Rich and Paul, the electricians who did the work, were thorough and professional. They explained what they were doing and answered all my questions. There were a number of "unexpecteds" involved in adding new circuits to the second floor, but Rich and Paul were resourceful and creative in coming up with practical solutions. They finished the work in a timely manner and cleaned up before they left. This was a very positive experience and I definitely would hire them again.

When I called, woman stated the guy was on vacation, but would call me on 9/26 to schedule an appointment. Never heard from them.

Originally we were going to have them install a new wall outlet where a wire was coming out of the wall. The men helped us save money by suggesting installing new wire molding that extended existing electrical wiring. Then they came downstairs and installed a larger wall receptacle because our wiring had caught on fire and the wires didn't fit back into the original box. The whole box was live and that's why we didn't replace it. They figured out where the problem was and fixed it.

Very disappointed that this provider was listed in the top on Angie's List. We will never be calling this company for any work again.
