After I replaced one, the other of my two garage door openers with universal remotes from the hardware store, my garage door started opening randomly. I called up Crystal Door; they sent someone out immediately (like the next day) to look at it. Initially, I balked at buying a new opener, so the guy (I can't remember his name) suggested some other things to try first (e.g., clearing out the old programming). They charged me $65 for the initial visit. When I decided after a week to go ahead and replace the entire opener, they applied that $65 to the cost of the new opener, which was $450. Once I made that decision, they came out right away and installed the new opener in no time. Very professional, prompt, excellent communicators. I haven't had any problem with it since then. I'll definitely call them in the future.

They did a very quick and correct job. My complaint about them is we had several other jobs we wanted them to bid on and they were always the highest bidder.

The service technician was prompt. He was courteous and called in advance to give an estimate of his arrival time. He was able to fix our spring in a very short time, and volunteered to replace the door opener cover at no charge.

The garage door opener was making noises like it was trying to open our old, heavy wood garage door, nothing moved. After first offering trouble-shooting suggestions to resolve the problem over the phone, Eric came out. He said that they could repair the gears since the opener was new (2 years) and suggested replacing the door since it was heavy and old and the track was showing its age, too. I agreed, and the next day the guys came and repaired the opener and replaced the door. The only negative that I would report was that they left the pieces of the old garage door leaning up against a wall inside the garage, instead of it cutting up (It was one of those very hot July days, and the guys had started after 3:00). When I called to ask that it be taken care of, Eric was very apologetic, and basically said that there was no excuse for leaving it that way, and someone came out the very next day and took pieces of the old door away. I was very pleased with the quick response, since of course things happen. They took care of it as soon as I pointed it out.

He was on the money with his diagnosis of the problem. It took me 2 minutes to fix, but since I'm not a garage door expert, it never would have occurred to me. And it saved me the expense of a service call. I cannot tell you how impressed I am by this level of service in this day and age. They could have easily sent someone out and charged us $65 to have the door serviced and I'm sure we would have been very satisfied to have the problem fixed, but the helpfulness and knowledge of their technician over the phone has demonstrated to that this is a service-oriented company, not strictly motivated by profit, and when something else inevitably goes wrong with my garage door, they will be my first call.

They have come out and looked at it several times. It is not their fault, they are very nice and very prompt. They are very responsive I just think that we have a lemon. They are very reasonable. If they have done a service, you have thirty days for them to come back and check it out.

The work was fine, the door was good.

The work was done in a timely matter. The clean up was good. The old garage door was neatly placed in pieces so that the garbage men could pick them up and dispose of them. I am happy with the work that was performed. I called Mr. Wozny (the owner) about a few concerns I had and he answered my questions very professionally and promptly. Overall, I would recommend Crystal Door for service of a garage door and replacement of a garage door.

My 12 year garage door coil broke the afternoon of July 3rd just as I was going to load the car for a long weekend trip. A technician was at my house within two hours of my calling them. Joey not only replaced the coil he also replaced the rubber seal at the bottom of the door and the rollers. He did all this in about 45 minutes. He was punctual and called a couple of times to give me updates on when he would be at my house. Overall a great experience and a very good price.

I had Crystal Door Inc come and install a new garage door, along with the automatic door opener with it. They were able to do a little of the framing around the garage door. The workers were very prompt and professional, and the door is working great.

Dave called within the time window we were given to say he was on his way and arrived shortly after. He was unable to program two remotes we already had but programmed two new remotes he had which worked perfectly. I would definitely use them again.

Eric the owner was very helpful over the phone, giving us ideas to troubleshoot so they did not come out unnecessarily. They did need to come out and arrived on time. Joey was helpful and patient and showed us what preventive maintenance we needed to do. The problem was not with the door. Overall, a good experience. I will call them again.

The technician contacted me to let me know he was at my house. Approximately 30 min. later he called to say he had fixed the opener. He then described very clearly exactly what he did. The door works and, again, I am very satisfied with Crystal Door.

Service time was estimated between 8 a.m. and noon. Joel arrived around 9. He called when he was 15 minutes away to give me a heads-up, and then called again when he was at the garage. (Note: The last time I used this service, the serviceman -- probably Joel -- was running early. He called to let me know that and asked if it was okay if he arrived ahead of schedule. How cool is that?) Joel inspected the springs (one was visibly stretched out) and quickly replaced them. He finished the job before I could run upstairs, print the Angie's List coupon and get back to the garage. He was knowledgeable and friendly, and answered my questions about life expectancy of the springs. I have used Crystal Door before, and recommended it to other people in my condo (we share a five-car garage). Another thing I like about Crystal Door is that they have someone answering the office phone -- no leaving messages or voice mails and hoping someone will call back the same day. This was a proactive repair -- a spring hadn't broken yet -- but I also know what it's like to need service fast, and Crystal Door delivers. Finally, the Angie's List discount made a significant difference in the price.

I left a message on a Sunday requesting a Monday appointment if possible. Even though they were closed on Sunday, someone called me back several hours later and arranged to come over first thing Monday. The technician arrived promptly during the service window, agreed that our problem was a broken spring and recommended that it might be cheaper in the long run to change both overhead springs (one was broken, the other old and rusty). I agreed, he gave me a quote and the work was completed in about 35 minutes.

Very well. We originally wanted him to fix our broken unit. He did so and let us know the issues with the type of unit our developer installed. We decided to replace the unit with a more expensive unit. He actually recommended a unit that was less expensive with the same features. Upon his return for the install, the installer called to let us know when he would be arriving. He had some trouble with the first unit he brought to install. He told me the issue, left to get a new unit and installed the replacement unit quickly upon his return. He also programmed our car remotes. Very efficient and he cleaned the garage upon leaving!

I called and explained that the garage door did not work and that it appeared to be the gear mechanism. The people on the phones were very professional, An appointment could have been made in a few days but due to my schedule I needed it to be on a Saturday about 2 weeks in advance. It was made for a 4 hour window but I was told if called the day before they could give a more exact time. I called the day before, they indicated they could make the appointment earlier that day and gave me a 2 hour window and told me they would call that morning. I received a call that morning and was told the repairman would be there in 20 minutes, just as planned. He arrived and was very professional, well organized and polite. He said it would take 20 minutes. The work was completed on time, the area was clean. He checked out the garage and said it was fine. He was very personable. Every aspect of the service was great. I would definitely recommend them. They set the standard for repairs.

I went with other company due to lower cost estimate and delivery time for same product. ($1,225)

It went very well and quickly. A little later than the appointed time, Joey called to say when he would arrive. From the way he worked it was evident he knew his work very well. From our manually opening the garage door, it had become unbalanced and right away, Joey re-aligned the bottom wheels. The nylon gear in the garage door opener had become stripped. Within 10 minutes, Joey replaced it and the opener was operating just fine. Although he didn't have to help with preventive maintenance, he asked whether we wanted the door adjusted so that it sat completely on the ground or a little above it because if it sits completely on the concrete, it can become frozen to it and could get damaged. He also reprogram one of the remotes and explained that this is necessary when the battery is replaced. Also, I couldn't print the coupon to get the discount, so in the end, Joey gave me cash for the discount and charged me the full price and said that he would take care of it at the office.

They replaced one gear and lubricated the door.

Company was quick to respond and work was performed efficiently and price was reasonable. When the cable popped again a few weeks later they came out the morning after I called (a Saturday) and addressed the problems quickly and at no cost. These guys do good work and stand behind it. Would use them again and recommend strongly.
