Very pleasant experience. The individual that came out to do the work was on time, professional and was great at answering any questions I wanted answers to. He even went above and beyond to ensure my garage door would stay in good shape for many years to come.

I called them over on a couple of occasions to take a look at my mother's garage door and each time they were very helpful providing their professional insight in temporary ways to fix the problem, provided an estimate and were on their way. No pressure. I called them back to do the job.

We have worked with Crystal Doors in the past with satisfactory results. Our garage door would not open and we called them to help us out. The representative showed up as expected, took several measurements and said they would probably have to replace one of the door panels. Said our door is a custom size and he would need to get back to the office to figure out the charge before giving us an estimate. We waited days for a call from them and finally placed a call to the office a week later. The person who answered the phone said he was the owner, had been out of town and that's probably why there was no estimate, making it sound like he is the only person there who can provide an estimate. He said it would cost $350 to replace a panel and take about three weeks for the order, or we could get a whole new door in a week or less for $700. Expensive, but we were willing to replace the whole door. He promised me he would have someone out that afternoon to take the measurement (again) and put the door on order that day. Two days later, no word on the order, no request for a deposit so I call again. Again, I have to explain who we are, where we live and our previous conversations. No one came out to take measurements. He's going to check on it and call me back in 20 minutes. Didn't happen. The next day, middle of the day while I'm at work, I receive a call from someone heading to my garage who asks me why he's going there - what's the problem with our garage. Dumbfounded, I explain it to him and ask if he needs to get inside the garage, and he said he does. I mention it would have been nice for them to actually schedule the time because no one will be able to let him into the garage as we are not home. I tell him measurements have already been taken; he thinks maybe they will be ok. No, 8pm that night I have a message they do need to get into the garage and I should call in the morning to set a time. I call in the morning, leave a message and receive no return call. Instead, I check Angie's List and call another vendor who comes out within 2 hours (on a Saturday) and says he can fix it in 2 days for $150. Done and done. Crystal used to be good; perhaps they are on summer holiday. I won't call again.

The overall experience was great. the repairman arrived earlier than I had hoped for. He did the work in a little over an hour and when I inqiured about a new seal for the bottom of the door he took measurements when he found out he did not have the type I needed on the truck. I was very satisfied with the work.

Called for estimate of repairing two garage door springs. Young man was on time and very professional. Made good recommendations. Cost would be $900. Sounded a little high but if the rating on Angies list was good, i would trust it. Set up apt. for following day between 9-noon. I had to take off work. Got a call at 1130am that the young man who said he would come would not be available until the afternoon. I had to get back to work. Another worker called and said he could come. I said if before 2pm. He never showed. The original young man called back and said he could do it on Sat. AM. Left me his number, which was the company number. No show on Sat. Called the number got an answering machine and no call back. That was July 2. Three weeks ago. Dont bother.

See above. Perfect contractor appointment in every way. I do wish the price was a little lower than what I paid. But compared to a low end model I could have gotten from Home Depot etc for $135 plus $150 installation, I do think the additional $100 paid was well worth it once I heard such a huge difference with the smooth and quiet belt drive operation. Plus the extra gadjets and and display features you get with this model's control panel are worthwhile and useful. It synced so easily with our Home Link buttons on our two vehicles. You do get what you pay for and I'm 100% pleased with this contractor and this purchase.

They were very prompt and quick to respond. They were very knowledgeable and were friendly. He knew his business. The fix was quick and reasonably priced. They were punctual and very professional.

Job was completed prompty and was well done. The price for the job was not clear from the start but seems fair. For instance, did not know about $75 service fee even when paying for $500 worth of service.

I chose this company because of the Angie's List Big Deal coupon. Overall, it was a little bit difficult to get them to come out. They were stuck on a job longer than they thought they would be, so they had to reschedule the first appointment. The second appointment was in the late afternoon. They called a few minutes before the appointment to tell me they were leaving Chicago now. Having driven back and forth between Wheaton numerous times, I know it takes well over an hour at rush hour and I had plans that evening, so we had to reschedule again. When they were finally able to come out, the service was fine and the price seemed unremarkable. I would probably go with someone in the western suburbs next time.

I had a small problem that they were able to fix. They fixed the censors on my garage door so that it would work properly. They were great.

Everything went well. They did a fantastic job. The guy that came out and was sweet and nice and got the job done. The light bulb did go out in April after being installed a couple months ago.

When the existing garage door broke, early Wednesday morning, I was panicked. There had been no warning, and I had to get to work on time. We managed to open the door without the opener and get my car out but the other car was still trapped inside. I went to Angies List and found this company, they seemed to have many A reports. I bought the coupon for an inspection, which they later applied to the estimate. Tom came out that day (even though I was not at home) and was able to inspect the situation. He then came the next morning early, and helped me get the other car out for my trip to work. He recommended a new opener and I agreed. The crew came on Monday and installed the door, and then on Tuesday to install the opener. It works great. I'm really pleased. It seems like the company has a little trouble returning phone calls, but they got the job done at a good price. Even though I saw a low grade by another customer based largely on customer service, I figured the overwhelming majority were A's and what really matters is the work. Glad I picked them because they took care of it in a timely manner and did a good job.

How did it go? Unfortunately not well. I was very pleased when Angie's List had the "Big Deal" for garage door maintenance as it was time to get that done plus I really need to get the bottom panel of my garage door replaced. I wanted to get an estimate from Crystal while they were here. To be candid I don't know if they have overextended themselves and they're overwhelmed, but this was not a good experience. I was able to get the appointment set up for the "Big Deal" very promptly, but if the ten minutes the Crystal rep spent spraying the silicone spray to lubricate the moving parts of the garage door is truly equivalent to a normal service charge of $120 then that is all kinds of wrong. The rep did spend time measuring for the panel replacement and did chat with me about it. Before he left he told me to call them for the estimate. I thought that was a bit odd, telling the customer they have to follow up, but okay. And boy was he right. When I hadn't heard anything after three weeks I called their office. A nice man answered the phone and said the estimate was done but rather than have me wait on the phone he'd call me back in a few minutes and go through all of the information. He never called me back. I then called the following day to request that they send me soft copy of the estimate. The young lady I spoke to on the phone was very apologetic and said they'd email that to me. I did finally get soft copy of a handwritten estimate but it was bereft of any information such as how much of a deposit they require, how long it would take to get the part in, etc. I sent a response immediately with those and a few other questions. To date, still no answer. But when I got home that day there were two messages on my home answering machine from Crystal regarding an appointment for that day. Say what? What appointment? Oh for crying out loud! At that point, I gave up. Not a good experience.

We found Crystal Overhead Door through Angie's List. Our experience was very good. They provided an estimate first. They were able to come out quickly and replace the door in less than 2 hours. They were in and out quickly. The pricing was adequate. It was the same as 2 other estimates I received. I chose Crystal because the person who came out to do the estimate was a little more friendly than the other companies. I think they did a great job and the quality of the work was good. They were very responsive and professional.

All went well. Eric did the repair job, timely, and explained various functionalities of the garage door mechanism and the eletric eyes, how to properly lubricate the tracks.

They were on time and very quick. The door was installed in less than two hours. The also matched a competitors price.

I right away went to Angie?s List and found this company. I was very satisfied with the work they did. They came right on time, fixed my door, and I was very pleased.

I bought "THE BIG DEAL" from Crystal Overhead Doors for the garage door tuneup and 21 point safety inspection, on March 7 before I went to work. When I returned from work, I had a message from Crystal Doors. At this point I thought, "Boy, this company's on the ball. They don't wait for me to call, but call me first." I called back on March 8, spoke to Eric, and told him that I had other work besides the 'BIG DEAL' and would like it to be done during the week of 3/28 to 4/1/11. Eric was able to get me in for an inspection on the 9th, to estimate my job, which consists of: Install 2 garage door openers (one 16 ft door, and one 8 ft door) Install metal frame pedestrian door The above mentioned tuneup and inspection. And he was to fax me his proposal. So far so good, right? Well, no. I waited for a fax and finally called the office on the 16th, when a lady started to read me a proposal over the phone. I asked her instead to fax it to me. March 22, no fax, so I called and asked for Eric to call me. He's in the field, I was told. No call when he returned from the field. I called again the next day (23rd), left him another message. This time he called me, but it went to my voice mail. He told me to call the office, have them text him, and he would then call me. I called, the office ladies said they were texting him, but no call. Today is Tuesday, March 29th, and I've given up hope of having this done during MY window of opportunity which I originally identified to Eric 3 weeks ago. I feel that if Crystal Doors was unable to meet my window due to being swamped by Angie's Listers, there should have been some communication to that effect. Now my time has been wasted, and it's too late now to get another company to do the job, and fit into my window.

Used company through Big Deal coupon. Easy to schedule and inspector came promptly. Replaced a rusty ball at no charge and gave good tips to avoid future maintenance. Would definitely use again if need arises.

I called for an appointment, but I learned that their hours to schedule an appointment was limited in the afternoon. I think that their last scheduled appointment was 4PM; I had to leave work early, but I was disappointed that there were no other later appointment times after 4PM. I did not receive an estimate after the first visit, so I wondered what the job would cost. On the second visit for which the part was not avaible the rep was more than one hour late. When I called the office and later spoke with the rep, I learned he was in the far north suburbs and was running several hours behind schedule.

Very well! Very pleased. Came out right away and did not overcharge. Veryy good company and easy to deal with.

The overall experience was great. Tom, their serviceman, was prompt, friendly and very informative. My garage door is now quieter and safer. Crystal will definitely receive my business in the future.

The service tech came out just prior to the appointment time. He finished the job in a couple of hours. Afterwards he explained what he had done and demonstrated that the door worked properly. I also asked several questions concerning miantainence on the chain and if the garage opener needed replacement (it is probably 15-20 yrs old). He stated that even if I get a new door, the opener was in good shape and then gave me some maintainence tips.

Tom arrived promptly at the earlier end of the window of time I was given, which I really appreciated. He lubricated all the joints and chains on the door and opener. He inspected the door and opener to determine its condition and potential life span. He also showed me how to lubricate the door myself, and how often, in order to prolong the life of the door and opener. Tom also helped me out with a remote control issue I was having and fixed it. I will definitely call upon Crystal Overhead Door again for general maintenance or to purchase a new door or any other products. They were terrific!

My garage door was not raising or lowering, the door was bent and was missing parts. This is a home I just purchased. I schedule 4 total quotes from 4 different garage door companies. Two companies stated that I needed to replace the door, and associated parts completely at a cost of $675 to $800. A third garage door company didn't show up for the estimate when they said they would. Crystal Overhead Door came out and provided me with an estimate of $275 flat. I scheduled a repair for 02/16/2011 and Tom from Crystal was prompt on time, friendly and was very patient, especially if I had questions. He spent approximately 2 hours repairing the door and adding several parts. At the conclusion of the visit the door worked perfectly. Tom was great and I would use Crystal Overhead Door in the future.
