The service went great! The technician Tom was extremely professional. He explained the problem, showed me the solution and was quick and efficient. In addition, I thought we needed a new system all together which would have been around $400 but Tom explained switching out the motor and doing a couple of other things would work for around $200. So the savings was great. I am very glad I called them! Tom also showed me the ruined part when he removed it to prove that he had fixed it. Overall a great experience!

I first tried the new Snapfix app and was very disappointed. I sent the request on Saturday and it wasn?t until prodding that I received my first project bid. I only received on bid so I decided to be my own concierge and found Crystal Doors. The price seemed in line with other reviews. Setting up the appointment was easy, but they said they would be out between noon and 4:00 pm and would call when on the way. By 3:20 I still hadn?t received a call and they assured me they would be there at 4:00. Mike the technician did arrive right about 4:00 and quickly repaired the door. He knows his stuff, but throws his tools and parts around. Just drops the old parts as he goes. The quote was $200 for the extension springs and $50 additional to add safety cables. He then noticed that three of the pulleys were bad and replaced them at $25 each. Not sure if that price is standard or high, but had him do it. So the original bid was $200-240 but ended up being $325.00 luckily I had a $25 Angie's list coupon. The door is operating better than ever, so I guess I would use them again.

Our garage door works perfectly and is very quiet. The guys from Crystal Overhead were very professional and did a great job. We love the Internet Gateway they told us about, which was available with our lift master motor. If we drive off and later wonder if we have closed the garage door, we can go to the app and see that our door is closed. If it is open, we can push a button and close our door remotely. We also get a text everytime the door opens. Awesome technology.

I tried to get clarification after I bought the deal, on if they would replace my large spring with another large spring. However, that inquiry was not returned, and then they replaced it with a smaller spring. Not a big deal, but communication on the special deal should have been returned. Maybe that was Angie's List's sytem though that is responsible for it. Who knows. Over all good service.

The sensor was not working properly and the remotes needed to be reset. The technician worked with me and my nanny to communicate what was needed and what was going wrong. Great experience

These guys were great. Very professional, and they did quality work for a fair price. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

My garage door broke Friday evening, shortly after 5PM. We had used this company in November of 2012 and called them explaining I could not open my garage door, my husband was out of town, and my daughter and her one year-old son were trapped here until we could get their car out. We called both of their numbers, and the THIRD time I called I explained that my daughter had just lost her three year-old little girl less than two months ago and it was stressful not being able to go home with her son. WE NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK FROM THEM. I eventually called Affordable Garage Doors of Illinois Saturday morning and they came out within two hours of my call. They were great. I am adding to my original review because it has gone from bad to worse. Angie's List shows this company as having 24 hour emergency service. Today at 3:01PM I received a response to my call from Friday evening asking to schedule an appointment. I told the woman that we had called someone else and the door was fixed, and that I was disappointed with their taking so long to return my phone calls asking for their help. She replied that they were closed until today and she was just getting to my request, and in a rude voice said that is why I had not heard from them. I just checked their info on Angie's List which shows they have 24 hour emergency service. I also checked their hours, which show they are open on Saturdays. I called the woman back and told her they actually show their hours as being open on Saturdays, and she said just the technicians are available, no one checks phone messages until Monday. I informed her that it is disingenuous to say you are open on Saturdays but not take phone calls or messages, and she again quite rudely spoke to me, saying she will relay the message but she is just doing her job. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. I don't know if they are unable to keep up with business--they have a help wanted on their web site--but they completely dropped the ball here.

We had used Crystal Overhead Door when we moved in October 2012 to help with some minor issues. They were able to quickly and cost effectively correct our problem at that time and did not try to over sell us. When our garage door motor finally died in November 2013, we called Crystal. They instantly accessed our records from 2012, and made recommendations based on our problem. They had a technician out immediately, as we couldn't get out of the garage. They also took into account that my 92 year mother in law lives in the home and still drives. They made all codes and access very easy for her to transition to the new system. And the best part- the technician told me to go online and buy the system for a much better price point, while he installed it. These folks are solid professionals with some of the best customer service I have experienced in a long time.

Overall everything went well, the technician was friendly and arrived at the designated time. The initial call was to look at a broken cable that made one of garage door inoperable. After replacing the cables the technician pointed out that a few hinges on our garage doors were cracked and needed to be replaced along with some rollers. Would use this company again.

I called Crystal at 8:30 am and they fixed the broken spring by 1:00pm the same day. Outstanding service. Mike was prompt and professional, took the broken springs with them (rather than throw them in our trash like most contractors). I'd gladly use them again.

The technician was kind, helpful, and timely. We needed the spring replaced but he also noted that our rollers were in need of replacement. So we had them replace those as well. He had the correct parts in his truck, so it only took another few minutes. Now we've had several months of flawless operation of the garage door.

There were a few glitches, such as an initial error in measuring the door size, but all was quickly recovered and the result is excellent -- everyone along the way was very accommodating and friendly. Great service at a great price. We had been quoted twice as much for the same job elsewhere.

They came promptly and fixed it. I needed some kind of braces to support but they didn't try. They guarantee their work.

This is a great company. Super responsive. Each time I called, they came out the same day! The first time they fixed a broken main spring, and the price was fair and the work very good. All of the people -- from telephone to technician -- were professional and accommodating. The second time, all they had to do was adjust some sensors and they didn't even charge me! It will be my pleasure to use Crystal again the next time I need service.

He arrived on time, was pleasant and professional. The rollers were replaced quickly and the garage door was operating smoothly when he left.

The service guy was great! The owners seemed to not care as much as the service men about their customers. I requested a receipt numerous times and never got it. The receipt was for the purchase of the remotes.

SP scheduled to come out and do project, but they couldnt due tune up because they didn't have the right size rollers. SP stated they were going to call back, but never did.

I called in the morning and they were able to arrange for a repairman to come out the same afternoon. Mike called about 30 minutes ahead to let me know he was on his way. Mike was courteous, responsive, and efficient. Work took about an hour - maybe a little less. I was not able to rate the quality of the parts as the work was just completed yesterday; however, there is a 2 year warranty on parts & labor. Overall, a great experience.

The price was still good overall. They were very responsive. I have no issues with the garage door.

Scheduling the appointment was easy enough and I got an appointment days after my call. The serviceman, Steve, was pleasant and helpfully explained some features of my garage door opener to me. He definitely didn't seem like they were pushing to sell additional services, and performed the service quickly and efficiently. The only minor complaint I'd have is that when I scheduled the appointment, they told me that even though their timeslot is between 8-10am, the serviceman could make it out by 7:30 am. However, he didn't end up showing up until about 9:15 (he did call me at about 8:50 to let me know he'd be late). Despite that minor scheduling snag, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Incredibly smooth! Fast install and haven't had any problems with the unit. Terrific service.

I went on Angie's List yesterday morning to search out someone to replace a burnt-out garage door motor. I saw that Crystal Overhead Doors, who we had previously used to do some repairs on the old motor, had a coupon deal for a new garage door motor. I contacted Crystal Overhead and scheduled a service call for later in the morning and then went back on line to buy the coupon. Tom, Crystal Overhead's service representative, arrived on time - actually he was a few minutes early which seems to be unheard-of in today's typical service company. He looked over the door and current motor and confirmed that the motor's mother board was shot and that the replacement was needed. He said he would need about 90 minutes to effect the installation and 90 minutes later he was at the back door telling me that he was finished! He walked me through the functions of the new system - things sure have improved since our old opener was installed 25 years ago! He also helped me set up the code for the wireless keypad entry and when I pulled my car up, he set up the universal remote in the car. I was extremely please with Tom's promptness and professionalism. He worked quickly and cleaned up the work area when he was finished. As I indicated above, the new LiftMaster motor has more functions and safety mechanisms than I realized were available. I checked the price of the model on Amazon and eBay and, considering that I got installation and repair of other garage door mechanics, I think the coupon deal through Crystal Overhead Doors was a very good value. What was most amazing to me was that from the time I placed my call to Crystal Overhead Doors until the time that the installation was complete was less than 4 hours.

They did an awesome job. The technician was prompt and did an awesome job with the installation and took the time to walk me through everything. I have used this company twice and I have been blown away by how great they are. My garage door is so quiet and runs so well now. I highly recommend them!

Fantastic service! From the first phone call at 9am to the full installation done at 1 pm it was a great experience. The operator told me just what to expect, when they would come, who would be there. They showed up on time, were extremely knowledgeable and helpful in making a decision. Installation was seamless and they spent as much time as I needed explaining the new system. Highly recommend Tom and Moises- didn't get office persons name, but recommend all!
