Description of Work: We are in the market to purchase a new garage door. We recently contacted "Crystal Door" One of "Angie's lists" super service award receiver's of 2010..... NOT....to explain.... We had wanted to schedule an appointment for them to come out and give a a quote on a new "garage door" My husband and I both work and are not home til after 5:30p.m. in the evenings. First of all they wanted to CHARGE US to come out and give a quote after 4:00 p.m. so in compromise we agreed on a weekend ..Saturday....we agreed late morning.. the salesman did not show til three hours later...and he was not even a salesman he was an installer...OK?? We were told he would get back to us in a day or two with a quote...still waiting after three weeks and four phone calls......STILL WAITING ????? called the main office she said she would be in touch the same day STILL WAITING AND NEVER GOT A QUOTE. by the way the gentleman's name that came out was: Pete LoPresti from "Crystal Door"

Description of Work: They encourage you to contact them by email for a 24 hr. response--guaranteed. It is 6 days later and I have heard nothing. Another company, GS doors, not only responded instantly, but came to my place within 24 hrs, repaired the garage door opener in less than 20 mins and was on its way. They may do a fine job when they come, but it seems odd to be touting your quick turnaround and then to fail miserably at it.

After Crystal initially fumbled the order process, they quickly recovered by having a technician hand deliver the replacement opener to my home. I've used this company for a number of jobs and have been satisified with both their work and professionalism.

Description of Work: Eric came and inspected the door, a rolling 18-foot fiberglass door that was bowing down in the center when lifted. He identified the problem as missing (never installed) horizontal stiffening struts running across each panel - only 3 were present on a 6-panel door. He offered to install the missing struts for $375 or to replace the door with $1850 or $2250 options; we elected the strut installation. His worker installed the struts the next Saturday and all is fine with the door.

Description of Work: The electrical wiring of the motor was fixed since the garage door would not open. He also lowered the hinge to which the motor was attached after noticing that it was too high. It was an emergency Sunday call, so we did pay extra for the job; however, the repair man was honest and quick with his work. We have used them in the past and an easy service call was $65.
