Rich was responsive, courteous & diligent. He had to come out 3x in order to repair what ended up being the switches on my stove, but each time he explained what the issue was and what the next step would be. He maintained excellent phone contact and was highly professional. The price seemed very reasonable for three trips out and the replacement of the switches.

It all went well. I was able to get a service person out on Saturday evening to look at the refrigerator, and they came back the next morning to do the work. They arrived on time, after giving us a courtesy call to let us know they were on their way. Hopefully, we won't experience another problem with this refrigerator, but if we do, I will definitely use them again.

Not able to service LG refrigerator despite listing brand on website.

Refrigerator was not cooling. He said could fix the one problem I had but in the next couple months the compressor sounded like they were about to go out.

This service is top notch from the first phone call where the woman took my information and told me a tech would contact me in 10 minutes. I was called right away and they tried to help me diagnose my problem over the phone before making me spend money to have them come out. They told me the things I could do without them to try to fix it and if that didn't work they would come out and I could call them anytime on Mario's cell phone. I called him the next day after nothing worked and left a message that I thought it was the circuit board on my dryer, and he called back and said he would come at noon. He was on time and very polite. He did find that it was the circuit board and had gone out to buy one that morning for me just in case. He installed it quickly and was wonderful to work with. I was beyond impressed and they will be my "go-to" company.

Rich from Chicago Appliance called and I explained my problem (had smelled burning and dryer didn't turn.) He suggested I try restarting it by hand, and also looked up the cost of a motor for me. His trick worked, and he also told me over the phone what a new motor would cost. He was very helpful and all for no money. If the dryer breaks again, I would definitely call him to fix it.

CAC responded to my call almost immediately--I had called 3 or 4 companies (still haven't heard back from a couple). I explained that we had a little water in our basement and our washing machine wasn't responding at all. I gave some information on the washer and was told that it was probably the board. He checked to see if he had any (didn't) and ordered one. When the tech came, right on schedule, he had the new board with him. Took a look at the machine and found some water in the bottom of the cabinet which had indeed shorted the control board. He cleaned out the water, replaced the board and ran a wash cycle (the longest part of the process). Very efficient and painless. I applaud CAC for thinking in advance and being ready to go when they came to my house. I wish all repair companies were this good!!

They called me back on my inital phone call within30 minutes. They came out the same day and repairedthe refrigerator.

The serviceman, Demetrius, was professional and timely. He came in and made the necessary repair without any disruption. The refrigerator is back to cooling again.

The service went as expected, and more importantly, at the price we expected. Teh service man (Mario) was able to make the repairs even though the machine was in a cramped location and needed to be moved. He cleaned up after himself and made sure all of our questions wre answered before the job was completed.

UPDATE: The company has since contacted me regarding the missed call; apparently it was an honest mistake. I appreciate the apology and follow up in response to my review. Therefore, I've increased the rating a notch to 'Fair.' PREVIOUS REVIEW: I was very disappointed in this service provider's non-responsiveness. I had read the positive reviews on Angie's List and was excited to work with the company for my needed repair. I called the company and spoke with a very pleasant and professional answering service representative who informed me that I would receive a call back from the service provider in 5-10 minutes. I never received a call back! Therefore, I was unable to receive a quote or speak with a professional about my appliance problem. Disappointing! This provider may very well provide great service to others, but I wouldn't know since I never received a call back.

The came to look at a GE washing machine. It is a stackable one piece washer/ dryer unit. They came out when they said, looked at the machine and quoted repairs. Their prices were very expensive to repair so we decided to wait as the washer was still working. I did discuss what was wrong and why it was so expensive. It was mostly the labor expense because to fix the part would require taking the entire machine apart. He explained that it was made with shock absorbers and one had broken making the noise. He was willing to repair, but not guarantees that the other one would brake later. At $600 to repair one, may be better to get washer.

Called at 9:22 am. Rich came to the house repaired the dryer and was gone by 10:15. Am now happily drying clothes at home instead of the laundromat! Rich was very professional and diagnosed the problem quickly and put everything back as he found it. Great responsiveness.

It went perfectly! I called at approximately 8:30 am. The answering service said a technician would call me back in 5 to 10 minutes. Rich called me back 10 minutes later. After I told him the issue and brand name of my dishwasher, Rich knew exactly what the problem was. He said he was going to contact another technician who would be working in my area and see if he could come today. The 2nd technician, Mario called with 10 minutes. He said he could be at my place in 2 hours. When Mario showed up, he had the part to repair the dishwasher. Mario was very knowledgeable and friendly. He had to pull the dishwasher to make the repair. He told me what the price was before he started the work, which I appreciated. Mario made the repair, then checked the dishwasher for leaks by running it before putting back under the counter. Mario also answered questions about some of my other appliances. The whole experience went smoothly and would highly recommend them!

I have no idea if the prices for the parts were fair or not, so I have no basis to comment. The service charge covered all of the appliances--ABT wanted to charge me a separate fee just to look at each appliance. Brian and then Dennis and Brian did a great job, even calling afterward to offer to come by on Saturday to put in some additional dishwasher clips. When they couldn't stop the fume hood from rattling, they told me that there would be no charge--despite working on it two different times and getting rid of nearly all of the noise. Overall, a great service experience, and one that mirrors the existing solid reviews.

Great service - friendly, knowledgeable, and communicated steps/issues. Only thing that left a bad taste - left a mess after taking everything apart (debris) that I had to take care of when he left.

We contacted Chicago Appliance Company after searching for appliance repair contractors on Angie's List and explained that our refrigerator (a 13-year old GE Performance Profile side-by-side model) did not seem to be working properly. More specifically, it was not cooling and freezing as it normally should; nor was the ice maker working. We proceeded to schedule a service appointment for Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Rich, our service technician, arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem - a broken/defective defrost heater, reset control, and thermostat, which had caused significant frost buildup behind the rear panel inside the freezer itself. He further explained that there was nothing wrong with the ice maker other than it stopped working because the temperature level was not sufficient for making ice. Rich returned to his truck to confirm that he had the parts "on hand" and then provided us with a repair estimate of $355, which included both parts and labor. Given the age of our refrigerator, I asked Rich to provide an honest opinion on whether such repairs were truly worthwhile or if it made more sense for us to simply purchase a new refrigerator. Rich assured us that once these repairs were made our refrigerator would operate like new for many years to come (barring an unforeseen mechanical breakdown of course). We gave the go-ahead for such repairs, and total repair time for melting the frost and replacing the parts mentioned above was under 3 hours. As of today, March 22, 2013, I am happy to report that our refrigerator (and freezer) is working great. Hence we definitely recommend Chicago Appliance Company (and Rich) and will readily contact them for all of our appliance repair needs in the future.

I called on monday night when our dryer stopped working. It would still function, but it would not heat. Chicago Appliance Co called my back and set up an appointment for 36 hours later. The technician was prompt and fixed the dryer with a new thermostat plug. I would recommend this company to others and I will definately use them again.

The representative came to diagnose the problem, got my OK on the repair, left to get the supplies and had it fixed the same day. The freezer was also having a problem frosting but he suggested waiting for the temperature to get back to normal before replacing any parts. He correctly predicted that the ice dispenser chute was worn out so he came back the next week to replace it. They were quick and effective and it was a lot less money than the replacement fridge we will one day buy, so Chicago Appliance bought us some time.

They company did not get things exactly right on the first try, but the company owner has been very responsive to my concerns, and they are working on fixing the issues with my refrigerator.

TERRIBLE What a waste of time! Update: Al has called and is extremely apologetic. He seems to be a real stand up guy. I really believe that my experience was an isolated incident. He takes his business extremely seriously. Al is a professional and this is the reason for this revision.

Chi Chi came out to look at it, great guy, on time, he diagnosed the compressor was out on freezer side of the fridge. Estimated that it would be $850 to repair. This took less than two minutes and a charged of $69.00. I have no problem paying a fee for the work that is involved in a diagnosis but that was just to much. There was not one tool taken out. I felt a bit ripped off, but I should have asked about the fee was before I had them come out.

The dryer was taking longer to dry clothes. Clothes that would be dry in 50 min were still wet. I called about 12:30 on a Sat requesting a service call. Rich called back a few minutes later to say he would be there about 1:15. He showed up on time. Listed to the problem. Immediately went to work. Checked atout possilbe problems including that perhaps the washer was not spinning water out of the clothes as effectively. He had to watch the dryer cycle on and off for about 20 - 25 min and y then confirmed the problem was the coils. The service call was just under 1 hour.
