Called answering service, described my problem, and she informed me a technician would call me back in 10-15 minutes. Took at least a half hour, but eventually received a call from a technician only to have him tell me they don't service microwaves. Huh? BOTH their website and Angie's List listing state that they do repair microwaves. Owner promptly called back to explain the microwave technician recently retired, and they would update their listing until they found a replacement. Thought that was a nice gesture.

My washer was broken, we noticed this on a Friday night, called Saturday morning, spoke with the answering service, and got a call back from Rich within 5 mins. We actually had some time constraints and were only available in the afternoon. He was not rude about the timing at all and told us it would be between 3 and 5. We got a call from him around 2:30 saying he would be there within a half hour and he arrived promptly. He identified the problem immediately and it turned out that one of my 18 mo old socks had gotten stuck in the pump or drain. He took the washer apart, removed the sock, restarted the load, and was in and out within probably 20 mins. Very courteous and professional. Rich was awesome and I would completely use the company again based on his quick, professional help. Highly recommended!!

Refrigerator was working okay but making very odd noise that happened several times per day, sometimes loud enough to wake us at night. I found Chicago Appliance Service Co. on Angie's List. Called just before 9AM. The answering service promised me a technician would call me back within 15 minutes and she was spot on. The technician said someone would be out to my house before noon. Repairman (David) arrived after 11 AM. Very polite, also covered his shoes since it was a bad weather day outside. Replaced the defective part and was done in less than 30 minutes. David also gave us a couple of useful tips to ensure the refrigerator continued to run well and so that the problem we'd had would be less likely to reoccur.

Called them and they had Rich come the same day and fixed the problem. I didn't know what to do or who to call. My dryer was broken and I had no clue who to call. I got on Angie's list and called around. People wanted over $100 just to come out. Finally found Chicago Appliance Company and they are very reasonable with there prices. Long story short Rich was over here and with in 15 minutes had the dryer fixed and working like new. VERY HAPPY with the service.

My dryer knob broke off and I had enormous amounts of laundry to do. I called Chicago Appliance Services and requested a same day service. The technician called me back about an hour after the request and I provided him with the part numbers over the phone. He called to check on whether or not he had any in stock and called me back. He indicated that the service fee would be $89 and the part would be $48+taxes but that the part just snaps onto the dryer and it would be a waste of my money to have him come over just to install a part, but he would if I wanted him to. I thanked him for the tip and he told me where I could purchase the part and where it was in-stock nearby. He was extremely helpful and I greatly appreciated him not taking advantage of me and saving me money! A lot of companies wouldn't do that! If I ever do need a repair that I can't do myself, I will certainly call them!

Spoke with the answering service. Never received a call back. UPDATE: Al, the owner of the company, contacted me after Angie's List confirmed my initial contact. They did find my original call in their records and Al apologized profusely for my never receiving a call back. To make up for it, he offered me a free future repair service. I really appreciate that both he, and Angie's List, took the time to follow-up on this. I give them an A for customer service. Once I have a chance to actually use their services, I will update the review again.

Answering service very professional and friendly- took care to get correct information. Prompt return call from provider who needed additional details--next day message with service and second return call from provider. However we decided to replace built-in double oven wall unit.

He fixed a computer panel on my stove. The man was very knowledgable and professional.

I contacted this company to service the dishwasher in our downtown Chicago office on Thursday or Friday. We made an appointment for the following Tuesday, and relying on that appointment, cancelled a later appointment we had made with another company. On Monday night, they called, after business hours, and left a phone message saying "they had no technicians available" that day. The following day we called to reschedule, and it was only then that we were told they don't service downtown Chicago, contrary to their listing.

Rich did a fantastic job! He came right in and took apart my machine to diagnose the problem. He discovered right away that the hose was twisted and kinked and there was no water flow able to come through. He was here for a total of 20 minutes and fixed the machine! Rich is very knowledgable and I highly recommend his services.

Our washing machine had a load of clothes stuck in mid-cycle. We called Chicago Appliance on a Saturday and the technician, Rich, came out that same day. He was very efficient, diagnosing the problem and performing the repair quickly. We now have a working washing machine. We would use them again.

Excellent. Friendly. Easy to deal with. On time. Got the repair done & knew what he was talking about. Great service.

I was able to call this company the day before and get a service appointment scheduled for the next morning. They gave a pretty big window of when they would come, but did give a call 25min before they were to arrive and worked fine for me. David was very nice and professional. Luckily he was able to make quick work to figure out the problem was a bent piece, adjusted it and reinstalled in just a few minutes. Because it was so quickly, he only charged the service call. I hope I don't need them again, but would definitely call them again.

Excellent service. Rich arrived on time, was very efficient and knowledgeable. Checked a couple of things and was immediately able to diagnose the problem. Went out to his truck, returned with new parts. Problem solved. Very reasonable price. Don't hesitate to call them.

Mario was great -- punctual, knowledgeable and fixed our issue for a fair price. We would use the service again.

Rich is the technician who came out to repair our Kitchen-Aid dishwasher. He arrived exactly as promised and diagnosed the problem very quickly. He did not have the appropriate replacement part on the truck, but he gave us an appointment to finish the job early the next day. Again, he arrived exactly as promised, made the repair and did it very efficiently, neatly and professionally. If Angie's List had an A+ rating, Chicago Appliance and Rich would deserve it.

Rich arrived on time, very courteous and informative. Although it turned out that the problem was not a mechanical one I was pleased with his knowledge about the issue. He was able to provide me with some history of the washer along with tips on working with my machine. I would definitely call them again for any repair needs.

I got a call to schedule a visit, and to give the repair man the model and serial numbers of our gas range, so he could bring the needed parts and make a single visit. He arrived the next morning right on schedule, confirmed the problem with the burners not lighting, and checked the oven also (which worked at the time) and showed me how it was on its last legs, and would soon need a replacement and another visit. He has brought the oven part, too. He also showed me how to clean with a needle the tiny holes in the side of the burners that I didn't even know were there. They get clogged and impede the flow of air to the ignitor. I was thrilled with the professionality and quality and timeliness of the service.

Great experience. My Phone call was returned within an hour of calling. They really worked with my schedule to get someone out next day. Rich was on time, courteous and prompt. He identified the problem, discussed it with us, fixed it and was gone in 1/2 hour! I will definitely use Chicago Appliance Service Co again in the future.

Service was quick, thorough, competent, courteous. I had called another service and the repair man suggested I look online for the part I needed....no luck. I was unimpressed with this repair man's lack of interest in helping out with the problem, so I called abt. They responded quickly, had exactly the part I needed in spite of the fact that my dishwasher was 18 years old. The repair man came when he said he would, called beforehand to remind me of his arrival, left me with an extra length of hose in case I should ever need it. He could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable.

We needed to have a washer repaired. We weren't sure if we should have it repaired, or if we should purchase a new appliance. It was not very old and was a very high end he unit. We dealt with both Al and Rich. They quoted us the cost of coming out (normal cost of a visit) in order to give us the exact cost to repair, so we could make an informed decision. We ended up doing it all over the phone. No charge. They quoted repair cost and then recommended we not have it repaired. They also recommended what type of unit to get next time, that would probably give us better service, and would not be as costly to repair. We received on time call backs, before and after normal working hours. They were awesome and we feel because of their advice we made the best decision. They will be my first call for any and all appliance repairs.

Chicago Appliance Service is great from the first call. Their answering service is polite, efficient and I got a call back within 15 minutes. My repair technician was running late and gave me a call to make sure that was fine, which it was. The problem with my dishwasher was identified right away, a part was ordered and another visit scheduled. Within 4 days of my initial call I now have a working dishwasher. I would definitely use this company again.

My oven portion of my stove was no longer heating and there was a strong gas smell. The stovetop still worked and it was in great condition otherwise. After several weeks of pricing out new stoves I finally joined Angie's list and researched all the reviews about nearby companies to repair this old stove. I chose Chicago Appliance Service Co based on the reviews. I called the service on a Saturday morning and got a call back within the hour. When Rich called back he said he was finishing up a job nearby and could be at my place by 3. He called again near 3 and said he would be by in half hour. He came right away then and immediately knew what the problem was and even had the part on his truck. My stove was then fixed in less than an hour. And no extra charge for a weekend call. Wow! I would definitely recommend this company and Rich was exceptional!

I originally left a message with a service and someone called me back in the first two days to set up an. Appointment. The first appointment, I got a call that the service representative couldn't make it at our scheduled time, so we rescheduled it for the next day. I was glad I got a call and could plan accordingly. The worker showed up at the scheduled time, did the work, and fixed the issue. I was extremely pleased with the work but my husband felt that it was a little on the expensive side. Overall, I was pleased with the work, will use them again, and would recommend them to others.

My first call to Chicago Appliance was on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend but communication throughout the day (both the call center and technician) was relatively fast and responsive. Mario was unable to locate the replacement part that day and had to return the following week; I think he would have come on that Saturday if parts had been in stock. Arranging the housecall was also prompt and easy. The service call itself was fine and the final diagnosis was that I needed a new oven because the control board had failed and was no longer being manufactured... ...except that with a little bit of Internet research, I found a Canadian website that sells refurbished and new replacement control boards for appliances, including my oven. Once I took the time to remove the control board (which I figured out how to do myself), it took less than a week to determine what specific part I needed, order it, receive it, and install it. The replacement part wasn't exactly cheap ($450), but it's far less than what I would have paid for an equivalent replacement oven (Thermador gas cooktop, electric oven, downdraft exhaust). It's understandable if Chicago Appliance and Service chooses not to source its replacement parts from very small operations like the website I found; I have no problem with them telling customers that in situations like mine, they aren't able to do anything further. But I can't rate them all that highly because they did not suggest that there are other alternatives to buying a new oven outright, if I was willing to take on the risk and effort myself. UPDATE 10/31/13: The Chicago Appliance owner, Al, called me to explain why they do not recommend third party sources for replacement parts and noted that this should have been communicated by the technician that came to evaluate my oven. Al promised a free future service call for the trouble.
