One technician came out and completed the job in about 1 hour. The technician cleaned the dryer out and tuned it up. The dryer works just fine now. He also threw in repairing a burner on a very old stove. He was prompt and resourceful. He was able to diagnose both issues quickly. The pricing was well worth the quality of service. It was very easy to schedule the service. I have recommended them to others and would definitely use them again.

I found this company based on an Angies List search and was impressed with all of the positive reviews. I called the number directly and gave my information to a call center that paged the technician. Within a few hours, someone called to address the problem. I mentioned that I found the name of the company on Angies List (which I thought entitled me to a small discount) and needed someone to look at a stand alone ice machine. I sent the make / model number of the unit to the tech in advance (even a video of the error message I was getting) so he could research the issue and advise accordingly. The tech was tied up that day, and because I was on vacation from work, told him we were flexible over the next few days. He was appreciative of the flexibility and promised a discount (in addition to the Angies List discount) on the visit because we were willing to work on his schedule. Fast forward a few days, the guy shows up, seems knowledgeable and friendly, but was absolutely no help to us. I would say he was there for all of ten minutes. The cost? $129 - no discounts applied, no consideration to our flexibility around his schedule. It was as if we never spoke before. He promised to follow-up in a day or so once he was able to "research" and assess the problem. The check for his services was timely cashed; however, we received no response from the company. I gave it just over three weeks and finally reached back out to the technician for a response, but received the following reply: "I haven't had and luck finding anything but am waiting on paperwork from the company. Yeah" That was just over three weeks ago. All in, complete waste of $129, flushed down the toilet. I understand the need to filter through service calls and charge a "house call fee", but for a customer that is totally flexible on time working on your schedule, I can't see how they get away with taking your money with no closure to the problem. Unless your problem is run of the mill, I'd think about hiring a company that knows what it is doing and can handle the issue before agreeing to pay them $129 to visit and not address the problem correctly.

Called for an appointment to have my leaky dishwasher and received a call back in 10 minutes - Arranged for a time the next week (because of my schedule) and gave a call back to with the model number when I got home from work. I was told the serviceman would be here between 8 and 11 on my requested day. At 7:40 I received a call from Rich saying he would be at my house right before 8 am - and he was. He came in - diagnosed the problem - and gave a fix that will enable me to keep my dishwasher going for a long time. He was done in less than 30 minutes. I am so pleased with the service. I will call them again if I ever have a need. I could not be happier.

The technician came out, assessed the situation and came up with the solution very quickly. He took care of the problem and even made sure specially to show us the issue and why it was occurring. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely use them again.

Called around 9am and left message for service. Called back in 10 minutes and gave me a reasonable window around noon on the same day. Rich, the service provider, was very clear about his arrival time and even called on his way. Was neat and professional, very clear about cost of service call and any parts cost. Upon hearing the dryer run, he was able to troubleshoot right away. Upon opening the unit, considerable more damage was found and gave me the cost options to repair or replace the whole machine. He did a great job showing me exactly what/why the additional repairs were needed and even left the old parts for inspection. Repair costs still beat replacement and Rich was prepared with all parts needed on the truck. Start to finish, was at our house about 40 minutes. Came in with shop vac to clean out all the lint and his workspace. So happy to find a reliable appliance service company! Chicago Appliance will be the new go-to for repairs.

I originally reviewed Chicago Appliance and was unhappy they did not call or show up. Later that evening I received a call from the owner to personally apologize for not being responsive. He offered to help in any way possible and sincerely apologized several times. I was not impressed by the repair tech's ability to run a schedule...however, I am impressed with the owner's sense of responsibility and willingness to reach out.

When Rich called me back to assess my problem, he requested the model number so he could do some research. He found out the part I likely would need would cost almost $200 and after servicing, the total bill would likely be $325. It was so nice to talk to someone that wanted to help me figure it out rather than just bill me. We decided to just buy a new washing machine, but will definitely want to work with Rich and Chicago Appliance Service in the future!

They were quick to respond and worked with our tenants to repair the dishwasher at our rental property. They did a great job of keeping me in the loop as I was not present for the repair. They were able to fix the issue and save us money (as we thought we might need to purchase a new dishwasher). I will definitely call them again.

The dryer stopped working and control knob didn't turn properly. Rich was able to come out the next day and could determine the cause of the problem within a few minutes. The control knob was cracked. Rich replaced the knob and made sure the dryer worked properly. He was very professional, courteous, and efficient.

The entire process was exactly what I hoped it would be. The dryer stopped heating on a Sunday. On Tuesday, I called the company to set up a Saturday appointment. I spoke with the technician (Rich) later that day, and he had me provide him the model number so that he could bring with him the parts that most likely needed to be replaced. Rich showed up on Saturday right in the middle of the window he gave us. He diagnosed the issue within about five minutes (a broken heating element--and he showed me the location of the break), and he quickly replaced the part. The entire visit took less than 30 minutes.

Rich arrived right on time but I was sleeping...thankfully Rich waited outside! Fixed washing machine quickly. Definitely will use again in the future and would request Rich.

Our washing machine would start and stop sporadically, and not spin out properly. We gave the Chicago Appliance Service a call and they directed us to Mario. Mario was on time, professional, and friendly. He was very thorough and explained what went wrong, how he was going to fix it, and how much it was going to be. We were anticipating at least a $250 bill, but Mario said it was an easy fix. He fixed a broken wire that went to the timer, and replaced the door latch. He was in and out in less than an hour, and the bill was only $150. Mario was great and honest (which is hard to find, especially in the city of Chicago). We're most definitely going to use Chicago Appliance Service again, and would recommend them to anyone.

Dryer stopped heating over the weekend. Called Chicago appliance to take a look. Made it clear that Monday was busy. But, they would try to fit me in. Received a call in the afternoon that they were on their way. Rich showed up and quickly assessed the broken temperature sensor. Within a few minutes, he had us back up and running. Great work and really happy with the service.

I called Chicago Appliance Service Company at 8:30 on Monday morning as my refrigerator had stopped cooling over the weekend. I reached their answering service and described the problem. In less than 15 minutes of my initial call the company called and asked a couple more questions about the issue. They promised to locate someone available to come to my neighborhood as soon as possible and indicated I should expect a call from a service representative shortly. Within 15 minutes I received a call from Rich; he asked a couple more questions about the refrigerator brand and model and promised to be at my residence within 45 minutes. Rich was true to his word and brought with him a couple of replacement parts, which he explained were often the cause of the problem I had described for my particular brand and model. Promptly and efficiently, after conducting a couple o tests, Rich confirmed that the problem was likely to be resolved with one of the two parts he brought with him. He replaced the part and the refrigerator began to work properly. Rich waited a reasonable amount of time to make sure the refrigerator was indeed cooling again. While he waited Rich was kind enough to sweep behind before returning the refrigerator to its place! I was very satisfied with this company and with Rich. Prompt, efficient, and very courteous service from start to finish!

I had them on two different calls. The cost wasn't much. Their service, professionalism and clean up were all performed well. We were perfectly satisfied with them and we have them on our use again list. I chose them from Angie's List. They were quite professional.

I purchased a replacement boot for our main washing machine since the old one was getting nasty and had grand plans of installing it myself. The problem with this plan is that our washer and dryer are stacked in a small closet, so I'd have to disconnect and remove the dryer in order to get access to the washing machine. I relented and called Chicago Appliance to see if they could install the part for me. To my surprise, I found out that they can install the boot without having to open up the machine as the online instructional videos demonstrate, so they were able to replace the part without having to rip everything out of the closet. To install the part this way you have to work with your hands by feel, so only an experienced repairman could do this. At any rate, I was extremely pleased and glad that I called them to install this part. I should also mention that they didn't give me any grief for having bought the part myself.

Rich came on time and did a great job for a fair price. We would definitely call this company again.

I left a message with service. Repairman Rick called within 15 minutes, showed up an hour later, had the job done in about 15 minutes. Reasonable charge, Angie's List discount. You can't beat it. I will call them again.

The technician, Rich, called me back within a few minutes of me calling Chicago Appliance Service Co and talking to their answering service. We set up a 3hr window same day in which he would arrive. He said that he would call 20 minutes before arriving and he did. He also arrived within that 3hr time frame that we agreed to. In addition to being knowledgeable and dependable, Rich was friendly and courteous. He quickly identified the problem with my washing machine - broken lid switch, and replaced it in a few minutes. His whole stay was less than 20 minutes. I would recommend this company and Rich, and I will call them again. Another company that I called a full day earlier didn?t even return my call until after Rich had left. You snooze, you lose. The price seemed reasonable, but I don't have enough experience with washer lid switch repairs to know if the price was excellent or not, hence the B-grade for price. Clean clothes again! Called the answering service and left message and got call back from Rich within about 20 minutes. He was in the neighborhood and cam to the house after another 30 minutes. That's fast service. He pulled the front of the dryer, found the problem with the igniter. Went to the truck, got a new one, vacuumed the inside of the dryer mechanicals and installed the part. Tested it, worked, done. Awesome. Would hire them them again in a heartbeat.

Very good at explaining what was wrong, what he was doing, what we could do to prevent recurrence of problem. Arrived on time, worked continuously, knowledgeable.

I called for service at 2 PM and was told they would be here by 4:30 PM. The doorbell rang at that time. They came in immediately identified the problem. Got the part from their Van; installed and left. Great service. Now we can have that dinner party.

I am beginning to think Angie's List is a joke. This company is highly rated, yet our experience was atrocious. I waited until my wife fixed the washer to see if there was anything else to it. Nope, 5 minute repair and $30 part. Follow-up to initial review: I posted my review above about my experience with this company and originally rated them an F. Al, the owner, called me today and was very apologetic about what happened. He refunded our service charge, said he would address the technician that we worked with and was determined to ensure I would be satisfied with any contact I had in the future with his firm. Based on my conversation with Al, I am changing my overall rating of his firm to a B. I would just hope that the experience my wife and I had earlier is not repeated with future customers.

Mario did a great job. I called on Friday afternoon and got an appointment for the next morning. He arrived when he said he would, quickly found the problem and did the repair. This consisted of replacing the drain piston and cleaning the main pump housing. Mario also noticed that the machine tilted forward a bit when opened and fixed that with no extra charge.

although the outcome was not what i wanted, i believe Mario is a professional and has his customers best interests in mind. i would trust them for future repair visits. nice and intelligent guy.
