Chicago Appliance Service Co - Chicago Suburban

I have a leaking GE washing machine. Richard examined the washer and determined that the ball bearings were worn, a manufacturer's defect, since the washer is only 15 months old. He recommend that I should contact GE directly because it would be much cheaper to go through the manufacturer. Also, he didn't charge for the service call. I appreciate Richard's honesty and professionalism and would define recommend Chicago Appliance Service to my friends.

Mario worked quickly to find the source of the issue. He explained what he could do and how much it would cost. He was very professional and courteous the entire time. The dryer was back in working order quickly and has performed well for the last week. I won't hestitate to recommend Mario and the company to my friends and would use again in the future.

Will did an excellent and quick job in removing the ice maker from my fridge. He quickly diagnosed that the noise being made from a lever being pressed down that shouldn't have. When he found out I had no intention of using the ice maker, he quickly removed it and freed up more space in my freezer.

Manny was great to work with! Showed up on time was able able to get the job done correctly. I would definitely use them again!

I called. Rich responded within 10 minutes and was on site repairing within the hour. Repair cost was as estimated.

I made the call around noon as one of my things to get accomplished during my staycation--it wasn't an emergency. At 12:15 I got a call back and at 1:00 Rich was at my door! By 2:00 he was on his way. They are extremely responsive. Rich was very nice and professional. He checked out the oven and let me know what the problem was. He told me what to look for with the broiler ignition in case that one started to experience trouble. It was an excellent experience!

Our Frigidaire dishwasher would not drain. I was on the verge of giving up on it, because we were not the original owners and it never cleaned the dishes to my satisfaction. Chicago Appliance Company is what they say they are: prompt and professional. I scheduled next day service and asked if we would get a call prior to arrival. Mario called me 25 minutes out, which was really helpful. My husband said he was all business when he arrived. Replaced the drain pump and determined that broken glass was the culprit of this and our previous problems. All done, including a trip to get the part, in about an hour and a half. The dishwasher actually cleans our dishes now and is a lot quieter.

I called Chicago appliance to get advice and he volunteered to come out since he was in the area. He didn't charge anything which was very nice. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to fix the problem, but we appreciated him coming out.

When I first called, I talked with the answering service. They took my info and someone called me right away. We played phone tag but they were persistent in making sure they got in touch with me, which was good. My technician called the night before the appointment to confirm details, a nice touch. After the initial diagnosis, the technician said that he would need to have a part ordered and we would need to schedule the repair work for another day, so we scheduled for 2 days later. We were given an 8-10 window, and he showed up a bit late, but it was raining that morning, and he did call to say he would be later than anticipated, so happy with that communication. The repair work was completed with no trouble, and the owner Al called to follow up to ensure satisfaction with the job.

I left a message and received a call a couple of hours later. My washer has been on its way out for a while and my dryer's bearings were now going. I described the problems with both machines to the repairman. He was very honest and very straightforward. He told me he could repair the dryer without issue but the washer was another story. He could replace the clutch which would be pricey in of itself but he let me know there was only a 50-50 chance that the clutch would take care of the entire problem. He gave me an approximate cost to fix both machines and an honest assessment of the situation. Although he didn't explicitly state that I would be better off buying new machines, he implied as much. In my humble opinion, he saved me a lot of money in the long run. He displayed honesty and integrity, two qualities I value very highly. The next time I have a problem with one of my appliances, I will call them. I have no doubt they will do a great job.

My fridge stopped working properly on Easter Sunday, when no service call could be placed. First thing this morning, I called Sears, as my fridge is a Kenmore. I had already lost all the food in the unit, but because it was still running, just at a warm temp, I thought it would be best to see if it could be fixed before buying a new one. Sears told me the earliest they could come out was Thursday! I explained that this was an urgent situation, yet I was still only offered Thursday. That's when I checked Angie's List, saw the review for Chicago Appliance, and called. Within 2 hours, Will had come out, and fixed the refrigerator! I would recommend them to anyone, and would definitely use them again.

This is the 2nd time I have used Chicago Appliance's services. After leaving a message, I received a timely call back from one of the technicians and described the problem. They had a nother technician call me back to schedule a time for service. I received a call back from Richard and described the problem in detail. He knew that it could have been 1 of 3 issues with it and gave me a heads up on the approximate cost. I texted him a pic of my model number so that he could be prepared with all parts when he arrived the next day (since I wasn't at home at the time.) Richard arrived on time, was courteous and professional and took the time to make sure that every question I had about the fridge (and other appliances too!) were answered. He was great!. I would highly recommend Richard and Chicago Appliance's services.

A++ Service. The answering service forwarded call and I received call back from technician in less than 30 minutes. He was booked up the whole day and couldn't get to me until 6-9pm that night. I was desperate and took the appointment. But I received another call; they had found another technician to come out. Wil was at my house, diagnosed the problem, purchased the part and completed the job within an hour. Stove back in business by 12pm, which was great, because I had tons of cooking to do in preparation for Easter! They saved me! Recommend them highly.

David showed up on time Asked if he should take his shoes off and put booties on (wasn't necessary, but very nice and respectful to ask) Identified the problem, explained it to me, made the repairs and even offered to clean all the fuzz balls/gunk that collected behind the fridge (again, wasn't necessary, but very nice of him to ask) Explained how to change filters (something that should be done routinely - did not know and have not done that) and just generally went over and beyond what a repair company normally does. Highly recommend.

We called in late morning and got his answering machine. He called back about an hour later and said he could come by in about 30 minutes. He arrived when he said he would and the dryer was fixed in about 30 minutes. We thought we'd have to wait for days to get service and were impressed how quickly the job got done.

Richard was a great technician. He stopped in and checked things out quickly, and gave me an honest answer - unfortunately it was that my fridge was beyond repair. He did give great tips about places and types of fridges he recommends purchasing. And because he was able to assess the fridge so quickly, he offered to check on any other appliances/issues I might have, since he was ahead of schedule. Super nice guy. Professional and polite. Informative without being condescending. Thanks!

This was a terrific experience using this company for the first time. The owner located a technician, David, for us within 30 minutes. David was extremely professional, punctual and thorough in fixing the problem. I recommend this company highly.

Repairman Rich arrived promptly at the specified time. He immediately disassembled the machine with obvious skill. Ascertained the problem swiftly. Replaced the faulty part and washer was working within 15 minutes of his arrival. Rich was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and informative. This is the second time Rich has repaired an appliance for me and I can't say enough about how thorough and professional he is as well as pleasant and courteous . I would highly recommend Chicago Appl. Repair service (773-631-5151) and particularly Rich.

Manny, the repair man arrived in the time span that we agreed on and gave us a call when he was on his way to make sure we were home. His knowledge of the possible issues with the dryer was very good and we talked out the possible issues that could be affecting it. When he was finished working on it and putting it back together, he gave us several quick tips for maintaining other large appliances to further avoid maintenance calls with him. They truly care about having working appliances and are not trying to sell you parts or labor that are not necessary. Definitely will be using them again in the future if any new issues surface. The only repair person that didn't sell me a part I needed to replace.

This review is long overdue, but nonetheless heartfelt. Mario arrived on time and replaced the ignitor on our ancient oven and coaxed it back to life. He was friendly and courteous and did an outstanding job. We'll be using this company again for all of our future repair needs!

Rich was very professional, punctual, and knowledgable. He called to verify time of arrival and arrived promptly. While inspecting my dryer, he told me he had over 38 years experience and it showed. He was done replacing the part that was needed within no time. Although I would've liked to have a more detailed itemized bill explaining cost of service call, parts, labor, Angie's List discount I would still definitely recommend this company to others.

I left message with answering service (I was calling after hours) & was told someone would return call within 10 minutes & he did. Rich came next day on time. He solved the problem, installed a new part and I have had no difficulty since. My machine is an old one & I am glad that it could be so easily repaired. Rich seemed to be very knowledgeable & he is experienced. It was a pleasure to deal with this company. I especially appreciated an answering service & not having to leave a message.

I was very happy with the company from the first call through the completion of the work. The answering service was polite and quickly had someone call me back to schedule an appointment for the next day. The service tech, Will, did an excellent job of explaining and showing me what was wrong and how he was fixing it. After the drain was cleared and fixed, Will poured water down the drain to show that the freezer was draining properly. I would definitely use this company again!

They did a nice job. No nonsense, they do the job and are very knowledgeable. The had the parts for my 20 year old refrigerator in stock or next day. Very punctual, great communication and they did the job quickly and accurately. I would use them again.
