Very well. Rich was very courteous, polite and efficient. Explained the problem, offered the solution and made the repair.

Rich had everything installed within 20 minutes. The igniter attaches to the burner tube. He showed us that corrosion had caused a larger hole to develop in the old burner tube next to the igniter. That hole allowed flames from the tube to short-out the igniter. He explained that If the burner tube had not been replaced, the new igniter might only last about a month.

Rich was punctual and professional. He called me when he was on the way and then again when he was in front of the house. He was able to replace the part from parts that he had stocked on the truck and fix the oven quickly. He even showed me how to replace one of the burners on my stove top and told me where to call to get the part. I was able to get everything fixed in one morning.

I called after hours on a Tuesday night (about 8:30pm). Answering service took all my info and told me at least twice that someone would be calling me back in the next 10-15 minutes. That didn't happen. I called the next morning and was told again that in 10-15 minutes, someone would return my call. They did. I was told by this person that they weren't sure if they did service calls in my area. Ok, fine, but contact information for the business shows a Westmont address. I live near Westmont. Business also indicates that service is performed in Chicago and nearby suburbs. I live in a Chicago suburb. The man on the phone told me he'd have to check with the boss when he came in around 8:30/9:00am and let me know. He never called me back that day. The next day someone did finally call me back. I missed the call, but since I'd already gotten someone else to come out, I didn't return the call. Maybe these guys shouldn't list their address in Westmont if none of the techs live there. Maybe they should return calls when they say they are going to (ok, they did, 33% of the time). Maybe the service would have been great if they came out, but I guess I'll never know. This is actually my first time ever using Angie's list. So... strike one?

Rick, the technician, was friendly, extremely punctual, and very professional. I appreciated that he anticipated the source of the problem from my description when I booked the appointment. He came prepared with the right parts for both sides of the door, not just the one that had broken. He was very nice and very fast. I would certainly call Chicago Appliance in the future for any repairs needed.

Great experience. After leaving a message with the answering service, I got a call back immediately. The technician Rich could not have been more enthusiastic and helpful. He said he had a job in the neighborhood and could be over to check my oven within an hour. He kept his word and quickly diagnosed and repaired the oven by replacing the ignitor. The expectation for pricing was set over the phone before he arrived. Highly recommend and would use again.

My dryer was really loud. The problem was actually the rollers, pulley and shaft assembly. Rich came out on a Saturday morning to take care of it. Originally Manny came out to diagnose the problem and Rich completed the repairs once the parts were in. Very professional. Very efficient. Very reasonable cost. Thanks.

Our 20 year old gas clothes dryer was squeaking so loudly that I could hear it 2 floors up when it ran. Additionally, the amount of time it took to dry clothes nearly doubled from when it was new. Based on reviews and because they are close by, I called Chicago Appliance to come have a look at the dryer. I called at 7:00am and got their answering service. In 5 minutes, I got a call back from them and we scheduled an appointment between 10am and 1:00pm the same day. They called about 30 minutes before they arrived at 10:30am. The technician was extremely nice and very helpful. He quickly diagnosed the problem. It needed a new roller and where the flame was, it needed to be cleaned out. He told me the cost up front and proceeded to fix it after my okay. He replaced the roller and vacuumed the entire dryer. The whole procedure took about 30 minutes total. Bottom line, I had the dryer completely serviced in only 4 hours after I contacted them. I couldn't ask for better service and will definitely use them again.

They called backed promptly, set a time that was convenient, showed up on time and completed the work in a friendly and professional manner. The service technician explained the problems and provide us our cost options. He cleaned the work area when completed and ensured that we were satisfied with the work.

Phone calls by company/ repair team were returned within minutes.Within an hour of my call to this company my stove was repaired. The repairman was friendly and professional. He knew the problem and got right to repairing while answering my questions.

Flabbergasted... That's it in one word. Our oven went out at the most inopportune time (not that there is a good time for something like that). It worked fine one day and the next day, nothing. We called the store from whom we had purchased it and the soonest they could get someone out was over a week later and they wanted $185 just to come out and see what was wrong with it (a small portion of that would be credited towards work done... something like $50). So, we turned to Angie's List. I called Chicago Appliance Company slightly after "normal" business hours on a Tuesday. I got their answering service and less than 10 minutes later, the company called us. The guy, Rich, talked really fast but said he could come out either Wednesday or Thursday and there would be a charge of about $50 for the service call which would be credited against work done. We chose Wednesday and he said he'd be there between 11:30 - 2:30. He called us Wednesday about half an hour before he arrived, well within the window. Rich was professional and courteous. It took him all of about 5 minutes to discover that our igniter switch was bad and about 15 minutes to replace it. I am just floored at how quickly he diagnosed and fixed our oven and at a great price (about the same as what the dealer wanted just to come and take a lookie-see!). We will definitely give them a call next time we have appliance issues.

Perfect. Called in the morning, set up a visit with technician, he showed up on time and we were late but he waited. Diagnosed the problem quickly, had the part, replaced the part, checked that it worked and, viola, oven is working again. Only wish I had called earlier. Use these guys. You won't be sorry.

I am completely satisfied with the service on my 14 year old Kenmore Dryer!!!. The drum belt broke on my dryer last night, in the middle of drying a load of towels. Since I do not like to go to the laundromat, I immediately went to Angie's List to find a repair service. After reading countless reviews, I called Chicago Appliance Company today around 12:04 p.m. The Answering Service took my information and told me that a technician would call me within ten minutes. To my pleasant surprise, Rich called me within 5 minutes. He scheduled an appointment for today, between 1:30-3:30 p.m. and said that he would call me when he was on his way. He kept true to his word and even called me once he made it outside my house. Rich made it to my house around 2:47 p.m. It took about 5-7 minutes for him to replace the drum belt and a few more minutes to complete the paperwork. I'm back in business and have dried a load of clothes with no problems at all. Thank you Rich for coming out today!!! I appreciate the efficient manner in which everything was done. Rich was very pleasant, professional and skilled. I would use this company again and recommend it to my family and friends.

Stacked Kenmore washer/dryer leaked earlier in the week. I'm in a condo building on the top floor so I needed to get this fixed quickly. Rich responded within 10 minutes from the answering service call. He had an opening the same morning which worked perfectly with my schedule. He did a very thorough examination of the machine in various cycles. There was no leak but he showed me what happens when you try to put items that are too large in (my case was a pillow). Water will spray and mimic a leak. I was very happy to have a professional look and make sure there were no hidden problems that would cost far more in the future.

Rich, the repair man, arrived in a prompt manner on a Saturday morning, only a few hours after requesting service. He was prompt, courteous and resolved the issue within a few minutes after arrival.

It went incredibly well. Never have I received such quick results. I found Chicago Appliance Services via Angie?s List, called their answering service, received a call from the owner/manager, then a call from the technician to set up an appointment all within an hour. Elvis, the technician, was here and gone within an hour. He replaced the belt, cleaned the inside of the dryer and vent. Elvis was friendly, courteous, and professional in his manner. I immediately felt quite comfortable inviting him in my home. All told it only took a couple of hours to contact and repair the dryer. WOW! It went very well. My dryer was fixed in a professional, efficient, neat and clean way. I texted Manny the information of my dryer and he came equipped with tools and spare parts. Manny was very nice, friendly and knowledgeable. While he was fixing the dryer, he also explained to us very clearly what the problems were and what kind of spare parts he replaced and its functions. It was very interesting and informative. My husband and I were very happy for the service that he provided. Manny showed up after hours as he makes calls in the evening which is great for those that work during the day. The appliance broke in a rental unit that I own and Manny was able to contact the tenant directly to set up a time to get over there. Made my job very easy. He showed up on time and upon review of the issue he called me to let me know what the issue was. He ultimately recommended that I get a new dishwasher for $300 unless I wanted to pay him $500 - 600 to fix. I appreciated his honesty and integrity. Was hassle free for me and tenant. I paid the $89 service fee and have new unit being delivered. I will definitely use again.

Two technicians came and it looked like David was in training. David did most of the work while ChiChi commented or directed. They advised that the ice make would have to be replaced as it could not be repaired.* I asked if they were sure it was the icemaker and asked if water was getting to the icemaker. They checked the hose and determined it was not blocked and the ice maker needed to be replaced. They were not sure if they had the correct icemaker in the truck but they did have a model that was compatible. David had to transfer my old wiring harness and bracket to the new icemaker. He installed the new icemaker and was finished within an hour. The only negative to the experience was that I had a bin of ice that I had made with an ice mold sitting on the counter. The ice was going to be used to make a smoothie for lunch. ChiChi reached into the ice bin and pulled out a cube and commented that he'd never seen a cube in this shape before. (It was a long cylindrical ice cube for water bottles.) He then threw it back into the bin. Consequently, I had to dispose of all of the ice as I had no idea which one had been contaminated. I had to wait several hours for the new icemaker to begin making ice. Otherwise the experience was a good one and a lesson was learned. If you don't want the techs to touch your food/ice keep it covered and out of their way. *I did disassemble the original icemaker and saw that the copper contact point for the heating element was corroded. Not only that but the plastic around it was charred and melted. Looks like I escaped a much bigger problem.
