Chicago Appliance Service Co - Chicago Suburban

I called Chicago Appliance Service and within an hour Rich called and was working on the dryer within 2 hours! And he had the part we needed on his truck. Rich was very knowledgable, thorough, and left the area the way he found it. Very satisfied!!!

David came out to fix our freezer. Turns out he's been to our house before, to fix the same problem, two and a half years ago. The freezer was making ice, but the inside of the freezer was caked with ice as well as the passage where the ice came through. David immediately knew what the problem was ... "the flapper". It wasn't closing properly, causing air to get in and create ice. He replaced it as well as another part and showed me how the entire thing had rusted. . He also showed me where I was covering a vent with tall bottles that should not be covered because of air flow. He also matched the price for the repair to the same price as last time. David was professional and very helpful. We've used Chicago Appliance Company several times and are always happy with the service.

Couldn't be better. Will called 30 minutes before arriving - arrived exactly 30 minutes from his call. Checked the washer thoroughly, replicated the problem we were having and determined what had to be done. Cost was way out of line for a 10 year old machine so we decided to go ahead and buy a new one. I mentioned having the old one with the drawer attachment picked up when the new one was delivered and he suggested keeping the drawer and selling it. Excellent idea - could be worth $50.

The lights in my refrigerator went out and bulb replacement did not solve the problem. I called Chicago Appliance Company only expecting to schedule an appointment. I made the call around noon and the technician, David, was at my home by 4pm. This was on a Saturday. I had researched the problem online and thought it was going to require parts. David looked in to the issue and his preliminary conclusion seemed to confirm that it was one of the two likely problems I had identified. David was getting ready to pack up when he decided to try one more thing and bent the tabs in the socket to see if perhaps the bulbs just weren't making contact. Fortunately for me, David was absolutely correct. Everything about my experience with David and Chicago Appliance Company was first rate from my initial call to final resolution. I could not be more pleased.

The work done was excellent, but the most amazing thing about it is that we called on a Friday, and Manny wanted to schedule an appointment for Saturday, but we were unavailable, so he came out on Sunday! Memorial Day weekend Sunday! What's more, Manny did not charge a higher work for weekend/holiday work. He always charges the same rate.

Fantastic. CAS agent took one look at the problem and said I can fix this, and he did in less than 3 minutes. He was great and friendly. The service call itself was $180 so the $30 I spent to fix the problem was a huge bargain. I will use CAS again and recommend highly!

Needed repair was not completed because the provider never showed up for the appointment.

David was prompt, professional, and did the job well. He was very informative. The freezer had a bad electrical smell and the ice and water dispenser was not working. He replaced the solenoid and installed a dispenser heater. He left the work area clean. I have told my friends about this company and will definitely use them again.

I went to get ice cream from my freezer, and found a soupy melted mess. Having used Chicago Appliance last year for the same fridge, I called them. Demetrius came within a couple of hours, and diagnosed the problem immediately. He replaced the motherboard, and the fan in the fridge started. He cleaned the coils, and made sure everything was working appropriately. He left the work area as clean as he found it. He was very friendly (even to my dog). I have used this company before, and have recommended them to friends. Will definitely be keeping their number handy.

Elvis was prompt, professional & knowledgeable about the machines. He was able to fix it quickly.

David was very professional and courteous in responding to our request for service on our ice maker that was required for sale of our house. I called for service in the morning and David was able to come out the same day. He quickly diagnosed the problem and set up time to come back and finish the repair. David was very flexible and respectful of my schedule and in total for the 2 visits, he was probably in our home for less than 20 minutes! If we ever need to repair an appliance again, we will certainly think about Chicago Appliance Service first.

Called Monday 4/4 to schedule appointment as my dryer was not emanating any heat. Soonest they could come out was 4/5. Technician called me to advise when he was 15 minutes away. He arrived on time. Informed me that my igniter needed replacing and gave me a quote for the part and labor and was able to fix it immediately. I was able to use a 10% off coupon that I found on Angie's List and technician updated the amount with the discount. He was in and out in twenty minutes.

Wil completed the job addressing the major issue with the gas dryer. He cleaned up after himself and was patient in answering my questions and showing me what was wrong.

Repairman was over 18 hours late, and VERY over-priced. Most companies charge service fee, which is rolled-into the total price assuming services are performed. Not Chicago Appliance- there was a separate service just to show up (even almost one day late), on top of labor charges, on top of parts (which were marked up +150% when compared to local hardware stores). While repairman knowledgeable, overall expectations prior to the repair were not met (timelines, cost, etc).

Our Whirlpool stackable washer would not drain so based on Angie's reviews decided to use Chicago Appliance Service and boy were those positive reviews on the money (literally!) Rich was my service tech and he called me 20 minutes prior to the agreed upon service window and showed up exactly on time. He walked in and with his 39 years of experience determined in less than one minute (no exaggeration) that a switch had gone bad. He had the part in his truck and in less than 30 minutes the washer was running again. The price was fair in my opinion. Rich was very professional, knowledgeable and personable - what more can you ask for???

Wil was our serviceman, and he did a fantastic job! We would definitely request to work with him again. Flexible scheduling, called ahead of time, arrived on time, professional, courteous, and fixed the mechanical problem quickly. You can't ask for more than that! Thanks Wil!

The service from Chicago Appliance was great. I left a message with my callback information and went downstairs to grab a cup of coffee. Before I made it back upstairs, the owner had called me back to set up an appointment! I set up an appointment for the next day and the repairman, Will, called 25 minutes ahead of time to let me know that he would be coming. He spent a lot of time troubleshooting my range and was able to find the root cause of the problem. Unfortunately, it is an old range, and the damaged part was no longer sold by the manufacturer. Will called around to a few large distributors, but could not find the part there, so he advised me to buy a new cooktop. Will disconnected the old unit so it would be easy for me to measure for the replacement unit and showed me which were the measurements I would have to pay attention to. The service was great. Will was knowledgeable, polite, and right on time. I'll call Chicago Appliance again when something else is on the fritz.

The technician David was excellent. He was not only on time, but early and came prepared with parts based on what he thought might be the issue without having seen the refrigerator. He replaced the mother board which had burnt out and also fully cleaned out behind and underneath the refrigerator. The whole process took less than 30m and was super easy.

On Friday evening, March 11, my 30 year old refrigerator stopped working. The fan was running but the compressor was not. I had had some problems for years, where the compressor would not go on right away, but it always went on within a few minutes, until this time. After a short while, realizing my refrigerator was not going to recover as before, I went to Angie's list, found this company, and phoned. The answering service told me I would get a call back soon, and Rich called me back in less than five minutes! He told me that nobody could come that night, but I could get somebody for tomorrow. He would have a technician call me soon. Shortly after, Chichi called. He asked me to look inside the refrigerator for a sticker with a model number, but I could not find the right sticker. We had a couple of calls back and forth. I finally found a very old maintenance agreement with the model number. Chichi said he would come the next day between 10am and 1pm, and would call me 30 minutes before coming. At about 12:15pm Saturday I got a call from David, Chichi's assistant, that they could not come on time, but could get there between 2pm and 4pm. I was disappointed, as my frozen food was well thawing by then. In the meantime, I went online to check out buying a new refrigerator, as I feared my 30 year old refrigerator would not be able to be fixed. At about 1:45pm I suddenly noticed that my refrigerator had started working again, all by itself! I was thrilled, but knew that something still needed to be repaired. At about 2:30pm, David called. They were on their way, and would be here in 20 to 30 minutes. I told David that the refrigerator had started up again, after 20 hours not working. They came about 40 minutes later, apologizing for being late. Both guys were delightful - polite, pleasant and helpful. Very professional. Chichi knew immediately that the temperature control needed to be replaced, before even looking at the refrigerator. He told me what it would cost. They both worked fast, obviously knew what they were doing, cleaned up after themselves, and were helpful in answering any questions I had. They were here less than 30 minutes, and my ancient refrigerator is working perfectly! I would have no hesitation in using this company again, and recommending it to others.

Richard was on time and very professional. He evaluated the situation and knew exactly what the problems was and fixed it within 30 minutes. He explained the problem and what needed to be done. He let me know what the price would be before doing the work. Richard did a fantastic job and I will use them again for all my appliance issues.

I called this company at 4 o'clock PM on a Wednesday and was contacted by answering service and dispatcher the same evening. Then the Technician called and set up an appointment for Friday. The tech's name was Will. He was very nice and very professional. He was very good at diagnosing the problem and had my washer running in less than an hour. He called right before he arrived which was exactly when he set up the appointment. Very prompt! I liked this company and would use them again. A+ for Will and Chicago Appliance Co.

Al the owner was very friendly when I first called. He did not have a technician available the day I called, but when I told him I was having a party at my house and needed my refrigerator repaired before then, he tried his best to accommodate us. The technician called back soon, and after describing the problem, we found that I did not need a technician the same day, so we scheduled a visit. The technician kept in touch informing me when he got the parts he thought we would need, and letting me know when he was about 30 minutes away. Upon arrival, the technician removed his shoes without even being asked and got to work. He worked quickly and described what he was doing. We found the problem was even easier than he thought, so he saved me some money in not needing any parts. He also gave me a lot of good feedback on the overall condition of my refrigerator. I would definitely recommend to friends.

This was a good experience. On Sunday 2/28/16, my wife was trying to bake an apple crisp and noticed the oven would not heat up. The burners on top of the stove and the broiler inside the oven were both working correctly so I knew it was not a problem with the gas. I called Chicago Appliance Service Company at about 9:30 on Monday morning. A technician called back ten minutes later and he was at the house near 10:45. He diagnosed that the igniter was getting electricity but was not lighting. He replaced the igniter and the new one fired up correctly. Before leaving, he checked to make sure everything worked and noted that the gas feed output pipe was dirty and causing uneven and irregular burning. He took the pipe out. cleaned it, and replaced it. The oven works perfectly now. Great job. Thanks.

Absolutely LOVE Chicago Appliance. They responded within 15 minutes of my call, scheduled the service, and gave me a reasonable time frame. Will, the service technician, went out of his way to repair my washing machine. The weather was bad, he had to go into Chicago to pick up the part, and then made a special call to replace the diverter valve in my washing machine on a Saturday morning. He said, "I know what it's like to have a washing machine be out of service." To him, it wasn't just a job, but it really was a service to help me out. I am so thankful that Chicago Appliance now covers the western suburbs!

I called what I thought was the service line last night (I called a number from that September visit) at 10 p.m. thinking that I'd get a recording. Instead, I got a really friendly hello and, after I apologized for calling so late, the gentleman who answered reassured me that he'd get someone out to address an issue with my fridge. He was reassuring and told me that someone would call me between 8 and 9 the next morning. Sure enough, just minutes after 8, I got a call to schedule an appointment. As it happens, the issue had resolved itself (apparently, I was paranoid about my fridge bc it had once before pooped out on me but was working just fine this morning). So what am I reviewing? The responsiveness and courtesy of the people I spoke with - alone. I think it goes overlooked a lot but it really shouldn't. That kind of responsiveness and courtesy translates into willingness to help resolve an issue and that means something to consumers. Thank you, Chicago Appliance. I'll be keeping your number in my phone from here on out. -Laura
