Description of Work: I explained to the first person that I called I wanted service on three large appliances. I received a call back from another person and explained the same thing again. They told me I would receive a call that evening to schedule service on Thursday or Friday. No one called that night or even the next morning. I did receive a call the following afternoon for service to come out on Friday before 11. I took the morning off of work and they did not come, call or answer the phone when I called to find out what is going on. Terrible service.

Description of Work: My tenant was complaining of a leaky refrigerator that was also freezing all food within. I had a technician come out to fix a clogged drain and replace a coil that has fixed both issues. My technician was very prompt, informative, and as agreed, did not perform the work until providing me with an estimate first. I live 200 miles from my rental and was able to complete this work remotely thanks to Al and the guys at Chicago Appliance Service. I would highly recommend this group to anyone with similar needs

Description of Work: He was great. Next day service on a malfunctioning dishwasher. The technician was determined to find the problem after searching for a while he found some bits of broken glass that were stopping the motor. He fixed it quickly. Great service, well done done. $125

Description of Work: These guys are good. No BS. Quick call back, we scheduled a date later in the week for the tech to look at the dishwasher. Mario arrived on time, within a few minutes he had the issue diagnosed. He didn't have the part, but ordered it on the spot, and returned the following week to complete the job. I turned to Chicago Appliance Company after a negative experience with another repair company, and glad I did.

Description of Work: I returned from Thanksgiving Holiday to find what looked like a crime scene in my kitchen! An awful smell and what looked like blood on the floor... After keeping the back door open for fresh air, I discovered that my refrigerator cooling system must have stopped for at least 4 days. As the light was on and a fan was running (but blowing warm air), I knew it wasn't a power problem. I looked on Angie's List for "Appliance Repairs - Large" and then sorted by ratings. Chicago Appliance Service had a 10% off coupon offer, so I contacted them first. I explained my problem (would it be worth trying to repair a 23-year old refrigerator if parts were even available?) and received a call back from a serviceman named Rich within 10 minutes. Rich couldn't have been nicer, more informative or honest, and helped me decide that it would probably be in my best interest to purchase a new, more energy efficient model. I will definitely call them again should anything else need repair! Nice to know that this kind of service is still available, and it is appreciated!

Description of Work: I called on Sunday afternoon. Surprise, I talked to real person. In about 20 minutes a technician called back and set up an appointment the very next day. He came on time and knew that the switch was broken. Fixed it.

Description of Work: Washing machine would not open door. Turns out drain pump compromised by big rubber band. Dryer vent tube unhooked by owner attempting repair. Technician addressed all issues with dispatch,employing some muscle and acrobatic skills as the tight spaces required. Very impressive

Description of Work: Oven would not ignite. Consulted Just Repair first where i was told it was igniter, part about $50 pus $175-200 repair. The service person responded to call within 30 minutes, set up time for next morning as requested, called to confirm he was on his way, was on time, diagnosed the problem quickly - it was the igniter - and gave me an estimate. He finished in one hour or less, and total cost $190. Very professional.

Description of Work: Failed to show up or call. I took a day off work to be present when they were supposed to arrive at 9 AM. I called at 9:15, and 9:30 and then again at 10 AM. Each time I was repeatedly asked for my phone and address and told that I would be contacted in 5-10 minutes.No one called back. Finally they admitted that they kept asking for my number to attempt for me to schedule with them again. Even though I told them that I did not want to re-schedule, I received two more phone messages asking me to re-schedule. Told the repairman had a last minute personal emergency....oh well. If I ran a business this way...I would not be in business.

Description of Work: My dryer was not working so I called on Thursday, July 28 and the answering service said the tech would call me back in ten minutes. It was a little longer, about half an hour, but fine. I asked if he could come out Friday morning or Monday since I would not be available Friday afternoon or Saturday. He promised to call me Friday by 9 and let me know. He didn't. He called and left a message at about 2 p.m. on Friday saying he was nearby and could come then or Saturday morning. I called him back on Monday morning and he came over before noon. Since I had told him the drum was revolving but there was no heat in my 20 year old dryer he brought a new igniter. but as he took the dryer apart he found that it had water in it, but also that the wires were cracked and the material in the vent pipe was not up to code. He warned me that I might have a fire and that he could repair it, but thought it was a real hazard. I appreciate his honesty, paid for a service call and went out to buy a new dryer.

Description of Work: Service company came to fix a problem with our refrigerator. They were available much earlier than other service providers. They were prompt. They were kind enough to provide an estimate on the phone based on my descriptions of the issue as opposed to many others who wanted to be on site to give a paid estimate which would delay the process for me. Once they came in, they completed the job in the time frame that they have anticipated, did a clean job, also provided recommendations for future to maintain our appliance to avoid similar issues in the future. Price that I have paid includes the spare parts.
