Never received a call to give me a quote.

From the bid process to completion all was handled very professionally. Quality of work was very high. Paint crew foreman was very attentive to details. Crew was on time every day. The job ran 2 1/2 weeks and was completed without interruption. The owner, Brian Allendorfer was very available and easy to work with. There was no damage and the few surprises were raised by them and taken care of by the crew w/out discussion or incident. They cleaned up the property in a satisfied manner, restoring it as it was prior to work being performed.

They gave me nothing but run around for 3 weeks. They have never come out and they will not return my phone calls. I do not think they will repair the skylight.

Called almost 4 weeks ago to get an estimate for fixing the concrete landing of my front stairs. Estimator came out as scheduled but has never gotten back to me. I called to check a week after he came and receptionist took my information and said someone would call me back; no one ever did. I have been waiting for this comparative estimate in order to book the work, and based on the brief conversation I had with the estimator may have gone with Allendorfer, but they haven't called back so I can't!

Difficult building to re-roof. 11 roofers were consulted, only 4 agreed to do the mansard at that height, only 2 got back to us with estimates (including B. Allendorfer). We liked Marcs estimate. It was clear and carefully considered. Our association was particularly postively impressed by his willingness to use a scaffold as a working platform, and to work with OSHA for safety. Reasons why we did not choose B. Allendorfer: 1) final estimate came in too late for our meeting, and 2) Marc could not give us a firm estimate range for the cost of renting a scaffold. Local contractors working in the neighborhood volunteered guestimates ranging from $3000 to $5000. For a small, six-unit condo building, an unknown expense of these dimensions seemed too risky. A larger condo building could absorb such a cost.

The men arrived at 8:00 a.m. in the morning and were finished by 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon. They climbed the ladder and worked until finished. There were 2 men at first. I think someone else came later when I was out. Being that we could not see the finished product I called and asked someone to check the project. A gentleman came out and took a picture and delivered it to us the day after he took the picture.

Jose and his crew were very professional: they worked many long (12 hour), hot (90+), days and their work was excellent. They take great care and pride in their work, insisting that it be done right and not rushed. Mark Livingston, our project manager, was the opposite. He never updated us or informed us of problems or delays. His failure to communicate between his workers and the A/C subs delayed the job more than once because neither was aware of the others needs. We recommend a different project manager. As a result, Brian Allendorfer was forced to step in. Fortunately, he was very easy to deal with and usually available. Unfortunately, his other obligations and intracompany communication issues meant that things were often delayed, although all promises were kept. We are very happy with the results; they do great work. They do, however, have serious communication problems; once fixed, the company's work can truly shine.

Since the initial visit to take measurements, its been 2 months and I've still not received an estimate. I've called three times and each time been promised that someone would get back to me. So far, no call has come. To be clear, other estimates we received came in at approximately $10K, so it s not like this is a small potatoes job that they did not have time for. I think we got a hold of them during a particularly busy time and they just could not keep up. I should also say that the person who took my call each time made no apologies for the delay and frankly, seemed a little put out to have to take my call.

Upshot: Allendorfer refunded a small portion of the bill, fixed the antenna problem that occurred during installation and moved the wire I hadn't already moved when I inspected their job. Their "fix it" visit would have been great if it hadn't been closed with a reprise of the "you shouldn't have paid the bill" theme. In following up after forgetting to include the refund check with the warranties, the company found time to call twice in less than a month to ask when I was going to change their rating on Angie's List.

We had some very specific problems with our roof and they were willing to work with us and troubleshoot for the best solutions. They did a great job and I will use them again.

We had a very good experience with this company. They are reliably on time, do good work, are fast and stick to the estimate. We would definitely use them again in the future.

They did a fabulous job. We'd definitely use them again. Cost split by condo association.

Very well, a very professional organization, especially for our smaller project.

DON'T EVEN BOTHER WITH THIS COMPANY.

However, I never recieved a quote. Called after a week I was told by the lady who answers the phone that she did not have anything and that she would have seen it if it was done. That day, the gentlemen who looked at the job called and said I would have it on friday. I Never recieved it and called 3 more times over the next two weeks and recieved the same response from the lady on the phone "I dont have anything yet". At least could have called and said they were not intersted. 3 weeks is enough time for a estimate. (More than 3 weeks). Maybe Angie's has overated and given them more work than they can handle. I wonder if this is the way the job would go?

Called & scheduled an appointment for a work estimate after providing a description of the problem to a female representative. Received a call from the same representative a day before the scheduled appointment saying that, based on my location, they would not consider taking on the job or even providing an estimate because it would be "too far" to travel. This, in spite of Angie's List approximation that their offices are 6.91 miles from where we are located.

Brian knows his business. His proposal was thorough, typed out so that it was easy to read and described the work to be accomplished well. The project was initially going to include more work, so we requested a revised proposal to match our budget with as much work as possible. Brian revised with no delay. His project manager was experienced and the workers seemed to take pride in their work. They returned 2-3 times to wash the brick and re-attach a gutter downspout to the house that was accidentally left loose. My biggest concern was the replacement brick would not match the original brick, and to my delight everything matched to 90+%. Simply put, you cannot tell the difference.

After several phone calls, the workman came out to inspect. They sent a contract, asking for 50% deposit. We sent the deposit. Weeks and phone calls later, they finally came out, removed the roof decking, attempted a repair, but did not re-install decking, and left. The roof still leaks. Many phone calls later, they said they would return, but were a no show. They won't return phone calls.

Marc Livingston, the representative who showed up for the estimate, was very friendly, and professional. I was told I would have the estimate in about a week, however I did not receive it for about 5 to 6 weeks later. I accepted the estimate, the individual who would be doing the work called my wife on a Friday morning, and asked if that day would be a good day for the work to be done. She said yes, but told him she would be in and out all day. At no point during the day did she see any workers, nor did anyone make any further contact or leave a note stating that the work had been done. About a week later we received a bill for the remainder of the balance as the work had been done.

I visited Angie's List to locate at least 3 firms for job estimates. Main criteria were websites, email addresses and their responsiveness. Brian Allendorfer was the only company that had a good website, excellent phone call returns and email responses. The other 2 firms--received just 1 initial phone call which I could not understand the phone message. There was no response to my email query. Brian and his crew were very professional and the overall equipment used was very impressive and clean (especially considering the services provided by his firm.) His price estimates may seem high to the general public, but if you want excellent service I would definitely provide great references for any future clients. The removal of the old roof debris from roof to street level did not cause any concern to foot traffic. Daily cleanup before leaving each day was impressive.

The parapet wall needed to be reconstructed and the ''new'' brick was a close match to the ''old''. The other three sides were repaired also which looks very impressive.

Gutters went smoothly without any disruptions to my tenants. Fire escape and the structure beam and brackets blended well together. Initial call and prompt response to paint touch-ups to the fire escape eliminated my concern if Brian stood behind his work jobs.

I am very disappointed to not get an estimate. It has been about 5 weeks since the visit and I have received no contact from the company. When I contacted them again, I was informed they were busy and I would have to wait.

Very fast estimate. Work completed in one day. Clean-up is immaculate. It was a very pleasant experience.

I need some roof repair work done. I called and left a voicemail over a month ago, but did not get a call back. I then emailed them a couple of weeks ago, still nothing. Since they don't seem to respond to inquiries, I question how attentive and responsive they would be on an actual job. When I looked at the AL reports, they had a good ''grade.'' However, I noticed upon reading the reports that other AL members have also encountered a general lack of responsiveness from the company lately. Although I was not able to use them, since they never got back to me, I would have to give them an overall grade of 'F' since they did not in any way respond to me.
