They are magnificent. They are so kind. They left no mess. They did a great job and did everything they were suppose to do.

My experience with this company is that they are utterly honest and dependable, though their costs are at the upper end of the scale. Still, it’s a matter of getting what you pay for. When we bought our first house in Chicago in 1997, Windward Roofing inspected our roof and told us it needed a total replacement and gave us a quote. Allendorfer looked at it and told us all we needed was a little replacement flashing around the vent stacks and one or two other small things, and that we had at least 5-7 years left on doing the replacement. That’s when they won my gratitude and my allegiance, because how would I have known otherwise? So when our current house needed to be reroofed 4 years ago, I duly got a couple of quotes, but I didn’t seriously think about having anyone else do the job. Their quote was a bit higher, but their estimate was more thorough, detailed, and intelligible than the competition. A year later, I had them do the garage, too.

It had a leak that for some reason was leaking into the middle floor, but not the top floor. They came out and figured out the problem right away, told us what needed to be done, and I hired them because I felt good about them. They were a little pricier than another company but I am very happy with the work. While they were there, they took the iniative to look at the roof above the garage. They gave me a quote on the repair for that which I thought was good. They were efficient and did great work. The repair has held up for 13 months so far and I would definitely hire them again.

The work was fine. It was an emergency call and they were the only ones that I could find to come out right after Christmas. They were professional and took the problem very seriously. They came out when they said they were going to. They knew what they were doing. I was very happy with them.

They did a decent job on the sealing and caulking, but we noticed that the concrete outside our bedroom window was chipped after they removed their ladder. It wasn't a giant chip, but it was big enough to be noticeable - about 3-4 inches. It took many phone calls to get them to speak with us about the chip, and they repeatedly denied that it was their fault. However, I'm pretty observant and the chip had not existed before they placed their ladder against the window (exactly at the location of the chip!). After much argument they ultimately repaired the chip - it took them about 5 minutes! So, while I think the sealing and caulking went reasonably well, if they damage your property, expect a major argument.

All the Allendorfer personnel that I interacted with were professional and helpful - office personnel, inspector and workman. Everything was cleaned up before the workman left.

I called the first time and it was fine. Had an appointment for the next week. A day or two before my appointment, they called and said they didn?t forgot about me and that he?d give me a call later to get someone more experience to look at the windows. However, he never did. I called a few weeks later and he said he would check into why they never called or came out and never heard back from them again.

He took a very long time to get back to me, even after calling him multiple times. His prices were not good at all.

The price was competitive, but I decided not to go through with the project.

I called for an estimate on a skylight; initial conversations were good and estimator showed up on time for the appointment. However, after not receiving my estimate or a phone call 10 days later, I called and left a message for a return call. I still have not received a phone call or the estimate as promised.

I was very pleased with B. Allendorfer Roofing Company in Chicago. They were responsive to my request for an estimate. Marc Livingston was the estimator and came out twice. The first time Marc came to speak to me and the second time to go through everything with all three homeowners in our condo building. He was the most knowledgeable and helpful after getting several different estimates. The work was done on schedule and we were very pleased with all aspects of the job. Although they were a bit more expensive I believe the overall quality and service was well worth the extra dollars paid. Very satisfied customer who would recommend this company to friends and family!

On October 5th Mark came to look at what I needed done. He said that he would have an estimate to me by the beginning of the next week. When I had not received an estimate by the 15th I called and was told Mark was busy but would have it for me min a few days. I asked to be given a call back to let me know the status and was never called back. On the 18th I called again and was assured it would be Emailed to me the next day. I am still waiting. I highly suspect that the quality of their work is the same as their poor business practices. I recommend that no one use this company.

They rescheduled three times to come out for the appointment. After the appointment, they said it would be a couple days to receive the estimate. Since then, it's been more than a month waiting for the estimate. I've called six times- no estimate...

I thought it went well. They did a good job, and when issues appeared with one of the air conditioners after they were done they came out quickly to repair it (it was just a loose connection). Also, when one of the gutters wouldn't drain, again after work was completed, they came to fix it. They were at times somewhat difficult to reach prior to the work beginning, but once things started it went well and quickly and they responded to our phone calls. Debris was cleaned up and the job was done exactly as quoted. No payment disputes, scope disputes, etc.

I have two skylights that were leaking into my living room. Brian Allendorfer came out to my house and estimated the repair which entailed replacing both skylights and adding flashing to all chimney stacks on the roof. He showed me pictures of all work areas and he explained to me what he was going to do and why. I agreed to the repairs and the work was scheduled and completed within one week. The crew was very professional and all work was completed in one day.

I think they were very nice and they were very professional.

He gave us a really good estimate. He came out here and made a presentation to our condo board. It wasn't a huge thing, but he came out at a time when it was convenient for all of us. His estimate was very thorough, and he himself is very personable. There was someone else that came in at a lower bid, and when I called him to explain this, he was very cordial.

They were no problems. They showed on time and did the work well. I didn't have a ton of interaction with them, but they did a good job.

When we did our roofing, they were here quickly and did a good job. About a year ago, we thought our roof had been damaged. The owner came out, went up, looked on the roof and said there was no damage. There was no charge. He was very straight with me. They didn't nickle and dime me. They are worth it. I also referred him to our neighbor. They were also good at keeping in touch with me.

I don't have nice things to say about them. I wasn't the main contact though. They didn't do anything. They came out and they never furnished us with a quote. They came out as scheduled. I kept calling them asking them for the estimate and they never gave it. They kept promising the estimate to me, but they never delivered. They never called back. I think I called them twice. I called them because I have 2 friends who had used them and had good things to say about them. We may have needed some chimney work to be done as well. It really doesn't matter because I never had a quote so I don't know what work needed to be done. I definitely know that the chimney had to be rebuilt.

His price was double than the other company I am going with. I have two houses so he gave me an estimate on both roofs but it was over $40,000. He also didn't follow up. He sent me a proposal and said he would call but never called back. I would be hesitant to call them again in future just because of their price. They seem to be way out of the ballpark; I got several estimates and they were way more expensive than everybody else.

The estimator was very knowledgeable but we thought the price was too high.

The experience was outstanding. I had hired a roofer initially. He came out, messed up the whole thing, left the work in between and went. Then I called Brian Allendorfer. He came and gave me the roof that I wanted from the beginning and did a wonderful job.

They were fine but I did not proceed with them. They gave a prompt quote.

It went very well. Miguel (Manny) did the repair in about an hour.
