Brian was very professional and I was pleased he got up on a ladder to actually look at the work to be done. While pricing was high for this job we are using them for another type of work on the home.

We bought the house a couple of years ago and knew it would need a new roof. I started calling for bids and was happy with all the companies, but liked the owner's personality (and his mother who is from the south as I am) of this one (and the fact that they said they hand-nailed in each of the shingles; I didn't watch to see if it was true, though). After signing the contract, they came out immediately to fix a hole in the roof that squirrels chewed through (no charge). Then after that, I think they forgot about us, so I called them and reminded them they hadn't been out, and they acted a little surprised. However, when they did get here, they got it done in a couple of days and were neat about it. The work was great (as far as I know, no problems). The warranty was the best of all the bids. The price was about not the highest, not the lowest, but reasonable, I thought.

Brian Allendorfer returned phone calls promptly; work crew showed up when they said they would. Work was professionally done. When crew left red dust (from tuckpointing) on the driveway and stairs at the conclusion of the work, they came back promptly and cleaned it up to my satisfaction the next day. I would highly recommend Brian and his company.

This was one of those things that I just wanted handled quickly and courteously. Being the beginning of summer season, it wasn't necessarily easy to find someone to do such a small and simple job, but B. Allendorfer came out and knocked $50 off of their usual minimum fee (an Angie's List discount). When they came out to give an estimate of repair, they slid the shingles back over the opening to provide some protection (rain was in the forecast). A couple of days later they fixed the whole thing. My hunch is that I could have found someone to do it for lesser money, but I didn't want to waste any time since it involved a roof repair during a rainy week. Certainly things were handled very well.

They wanted to perform unnecessary work that would total well over budget. They were punctual and polite, yet, tried to overcharge.

Did not have them do the work but the free estimate was very thorough & was great they could do both roof/masonry. We ended up going with someone else due to price. But I would recommend them. Very professional & responsive.

He gave me a positive impression for the estimate. He suggested something be done first before he starts his work.

The job was difficult because of the height and angle of the work. They repaired and painted the majority of the overhang on their first day, but ran into rotten wood in a key area over the front entryway. The work was postponed until a carpenter could come in to repair the area with the rot, replace the wood support and complete the wood beading. They did a thorough and complete job. The price was high but the need to rent lifting equipment and the character of the job made it more understandable.

Everyone who worked on the project was personable and explained at all times what they had to do. The new chimney is a work of art.

Work was done to written specifications included on the original estimate. All the people I had contact with from the estimator, to the office staff, to the crew were courteous and professional. The crew was on time, professional, worked very hard and answered all my questions and concerns. Materials used were of good quality. Feel I got a quality job and the price was within range of several other estimates. Excellent written warranty as well. I would recommend this company.

He was extremely friendly and easy to talk with, and he did a good job of explaining what he found and how to handle it. We had his written report the same day, which was terrific. (He did charge an extra $100 since the house is in the suburbs - normal fee in Chicago is $250.)

The painting took 3 months to complete, because painter was not reliable in completing "touch-up areas" in a timely fashion. Painting was satisfactory when completed, but it was very time-consuming for me. The owner was out-of-town for about 6 weeks during this 3-month period, but office officials whom I contacted could get this painter to return to complete work until owner returned. The owner was responsive to my requests when in town, but it still took about 2-3 weeks to complete. I have used the company before to install a skylight and I found the work to be very satisfactory; however, this painting job was not done in a timely fashion. I would use the company for other jobs, but would hesitate to engage this particular painter again.

I called to get an estimate about February 9th, 2006, and was told I would get a call back by February 13th (yesterday), and have not received a phone call. If he can't fit me in to his schedule, perhaps he could call and tell me that? P.S. this is NOT the first contractor that has not returned a phone call, and I am trying to make the point that this is very annoying, if not completely dsrespectful.

2 DAY JOB TAKES 4 MONTHS TO FINISH! WE HAD A HODGEPODGE OF CHIMNEY-ROOF-GUTTER PROJECTS, AND SINCE BRIAN'S COMPANY HANDLES ALL THESE, WE HIRED HIM. BRIAN CALLED ABOUT 10 DAYS AFTER MY INITIAL PHONE CALL- OK, IT WAS JULY AND PROBABLY HE WAS BUSY-HE DID APOLOGIZE AND WAS QUITE PERSONABLE. HE MAKES IT TO OUR HOUSE AND IS EVEN WARMER AND MORE PERSONABLE IN PERSON. HE MAKES AN EXTREMELY EFFICIENT ASSESSMENT OF OUR PROJECT. WE GET AN ESTIMATE, VIA EMAIL, IN A COUPLE OF DAYS. THE ESTIMATE LOOKS GOOD, BUT HE LEFT OUT A COUPLE OF DETAILS SO THE ESTIMATE MUST BE MODIFIED. TIME PASSES, IT'S NOW MID-AUG. WHAT ABOUT THE CHANGES TO THE ESTIMATE? I THOUGHT BAR WOULD DO THIS, HE SAID I NEEDED TO DO IT. I MAKE THE CHANGES, SEND THEM A DEPOSIT & EXPECT TO HEAR FROM THEM IN 10 DAYS. WE GO ON VACATION. MORE TIME GOES BY. IT'S NOW SEPT. I CALL BRIAN: HE'S BEEN SICK AND ON VACATION? FINALLY IN OCT (OR NOV) THE WORK GETS DONE. IT'S DEC AND I'M FINALLY PAYING THE BALANCE.

WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE OUTCOME OF ALL OF THE WORK. THE QUALITY OF THE JOB IS EXCEPTIONAL. THERE WERE A FEW COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS THROUGHOUT, BUT EVERYTHING WORKED OUT IN THE END. THE WHOLE JOB WENT QUICKLY AND WAS DONE WITHIN A FEW WEEKS. BRIAN, PHIL, AND THE CREWS WERE ALL VERY NICE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. WE HAD GOTTEN HALF A DOZEN ESTIMATES AND DID NOT FIND B. ALLENDORFER TO BE THAT MUCH MORE THAN THE COMPETITORS. I LIKED THAT THEY OFFERED THREE ADDITIONAL OPTIONS FOR THE ROOF WORK - NO OTHER COMPANY I CALLED OFFERED CHOICES. THE QUALITY OF THE WORK ON THE ROOFS AND THE GUTTERS, AND THE PROFESSIONALISM AND EXPERTISE OF THE COMPANY WERE WELL WORTH THE ADDED EXPENSE OF THE JOB.

BRIAN'S THREE MAN CREW ARRIVED ON THE DATE AND TIME AGREED UPON AND COMPLETED THE JOB IN A WORKMANLIKE MANNER. HIS COMPANY WAS ONE OF THREE THAT QUOTED AND HIS WAS THE MOST THOROUGH RESPONSE. SEVERAL OTHER ANGIE LISTERS DECLINED TO QUOTE BECAUSE OF THE HEIGHT OR BECAUSE OF THE COPPER INLAY INVOLVED.

MY HUSBAND AND I HIRED B. ALLENDORFER AFTER MEETING WITH 7 OTHER ROOFING COMPANIES, TO REPAIR AND RESEAL OUR NEWLY PURCHASED TWO-FLAT ROOF, AND ALSO REBUILD THE TOP SEVERAL FEET OF OUR BRICK CHIMNEY. BRIAN STRUCK US AS ONE OF THE MOST HONEST AND INFORMED OF THE BUNCH, AND ALSO THE MOST UNDERSTANDING OF OUR FINANCIAL SITUATION. HE ACTUALLY CAME OUT TWICE TO DISCUSS WITH US THE BEST OPTIONS FOR THE AMOUNT WE COULD SPEND. OUR ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT AFTER SIGNING THE CONTRACT AND SENDING IN OUR DOWNPAYMENT, IT TOOK OVER A MONTH AND SEVERAL CALLS FOR THE CREW TO COME OUT AND BEGIN THE WORK. THEIR PRICES ALSO SEEM TO RUN ON THE HIGH SIDE, BUT THE WORK MAKES UP FOR IT. AFTER THE WORK WAS FINALLY COMPLETED WE MET WITH PHIL TO GO OVER EXACTLY WHAT HAD BEEN DONE. WHILE TALKING WITH US, PHIL NOTICED AN AREA HE WAS NOT HAPPY WITH AND SAID HE'S SEND SOMEONE BACK OUT TO FIX IT. WE HAVE NOT BEEN BACK UP ON THE ROOF SINCE THEN TO SEE IF THIS HAS BEEN DONE, BUT APPRECIATE THE GESTURE NEVERTHELESS.

WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE WORK PERFORMED BY THE MEN. WE WERE IMPRESSED WITH BRIAN AND PHIL, WHO WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND TOOK THE TIME TO EXPLAIN THE JOB TO US.

PROMPT RESPONSE TO A REQUEST FOR AN ESTIMATE ON A HOUSE WE WERE CONSIDERING BUYING. RECEIVED A CALL BACK ON THE WEEKEND IN THE MIDST OF THE OWNER VOLUNTEERING FOR THE CHICAGO AIR & WATER SHOW.

BRIAN LIVED UP TO HIS REPUTATION OF QUICK RESPONSE. IT TOOK AWHILE TO GET EVERYTHING ORDERED AND IN, BUT ONCE THE WORK STARTED, EVERYTHING WAS COMPLETED IN THREE WEEKS. HIS CREWS WERE PLEASANT, AND KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. HIS PRICES ARE LITTLE BIT HIGH, BUT YOU GET AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT IN RETURN.

WORKERS WERE CONGENIAL, HARD WORKING LABORERS. THEY DID A GREAT JOB AND A PROFESSIONAL CLEAN-UP.

WE RECEIVED A QUOTE. THEY SEEMED EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND FRIENDLY. UNFORTUNATELY THEIR QUOTE WAS SUBSTANTIALLY HIGHER THAN ALL OTHERS. I SENSED THAT THEY WERE USE TO WORKING ON HIGHER END HOMES. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM IF MONEY WEREN'T A MAJOR CONSIDERATION.

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT. VERY RESPONSIVE.

MR ALLENDORFER WAS PROMPT IN RETURNING INITIAL PHONE CALL, AND SET UP APPOINTMENT FOR ESTIMATE FOR THE FOLLOWING WEEK. SUBSEQUENTLY, CANCELLED APPOINTMENT BECAUSE I CONTRACTED WITH ANOTHER ROOFING COMPANY. WOULD NOT HESITATE IN CONSIDERING ALLENDORFER AGAIN.
