It really went pretty well. They were very responsive from estimate to completion. They worked with me to balance the demands of my work schedule along with the capricious weather we have here in Chicago. Very efficient and thorough. The only hiccup ended up being with the color of the shingles. Color choice of shingles was on me. In retrospect I should have gotten up on the roof to ensure I was picking the right color when they were here doing the estimate, leveraging their sturdier ladder. The ladder I have is very old and not stable. I based my color choice on all the granules that had been covering my deck furniture. The color I chose was too dark. I needed to ensure I blended my choice in with the townhomes. Yes, I know that was dumb of me. They did work with me on coming back quickly, and on a Saturday, to address the problem and at a reasonable price. I think that in the future that once they are selected for a job they should probably work more closely with the customer on color choice. The rep admitted when they arrived on the first day that he noted the color was much darker than what was on the roof currently but also admitted he did not say anything. We could have saved each of us time and me a bit more money if he had spoken up. I would still recommend them, though.

I contacted BlueSky to do some brick tuckpointing and to fix our crumbling front stairs. Chris responded so quickly, and promptly came out to do an estimate. I had a lot of questions about different substances (limestone vs aggregate vs concrete) and he very thoroughly answered my questions and gave pricing alternatives. Their price for the tuckpointing was very good, but we decided to put that project off for a bit. Once we decided to go with the basic concrete stairs (price for aggregate was staggeringly expensive in comparison), Chris got the permits and scheduled the work for the following week. Told me it would take one day to demo, one day to pour, then one day to remove the supports. They did the demo AND the pouring in one full day, arriving promptly at 8:00 and working until 6:00. The crew cleaned up the yard and basement as if nothing had happened at all. Chris followed up by email that night to tell me they completed the work that day, would allow it to set the next day, and would remove the supports on the 3rd day. On the 3rd day, the again arrived promptly at 8:00 and were done by 9:30, leaving no trace. I am really pleased with the work and will call BlueSky when we are ready to do the tuckpointing or discuss other work in our home.

Chris from Blue Sky was was very quick to respond to our request for an estimate for repairing damage to our roof. He came to see what needed to be done himselt. (Others that we called for estimate, did not even bother to come and look.) Then he sent an estimate via email - which was good for 30 days. Because of a hospital stay I caused a delay in repairing the roof, but Chris still honored his estimate. They came and replaced various missing and damaged shingles, cauked all vents, repaired and cauked flashing - which all had been leaking. Also removed old outside TV antenna and repaired area. Since repairs were made we have not had any leaks, so now we can repair the inside. If the need arises we would definately use Blue Sky Roofing again.

Based on the estimate, they seemed to be fairly thorough. They gave me straight answers to my questions and based on other estimates, their prices seemed to be reasonable.

They did good service. They have good prices for the quality of work they do. If you're looking for quality work done in a timely manner then they're the way to go.

After I called to get a quote, Chris was out within the hour to take a look. He provided a quote on several scenarios in a timely manner. The immediate problem was a leak, so he quoted both a tarp to get me through winter and a complete re-roofing (the roof was ~3 layers of composition shingles on top of cedar shake, so a complete tear-off and redecking was necessary). Taking advantage of the warm January, I asked that they go ahead and replace the roof, and they scheduled it for a warm day less than a week out. It took them a little over two full days and they did an excellent job, first with the tear-off to the rafters, and then the reroofing. They installed some nice aluminum trim on our gables and a ridge vent, both of which look very nice. They did a great job cleaning up and trying their best o keep the mess out of my neighbor's melted ice rink. They even agreed to haul away some rotten wood that I had for no charge, which was nice. Overall, the roof looks very nice, it was done in a timely fashion, and they were very easy to deal with, with several follow-up calls to make sure everything looked good. After we decided on a color, they also replaced our gutters and rerouted them as we had requested, and they look nice as well. They also fixed up some of the aluminum capping that had come loose. Overall, they were prompt, professional, affordable, and did excellent work. I highly recommend their service.

They were very professional and did a great job.

They seemed great at the time, but our new roof now leaks, our chimney has moisture on the inside. The door bell they installed stopped working 6 months after they installed it. The gutter placement was odd- you have to step over it to get off our back deck, but we were OK with it at first because it was supposed to stop the ice dams we get in the winter. Nope. Now on warm winter days it rains on the inside of our family room, due to the ice that worked its way up under our "new" roof melting. Money just thrown away. We have all the same problems we had before they did the work. The concrete they laid under our garage door is already cracked.

Recommneded. Dan came out the same day and looked at the roof. Came back the next day with a helper and spent 30 minutes on the roof, took lots of pictures. Estimate was equal to the other lowest estimate. he was the only one who suggested having the insurance company paying for the roof due to hail damage, which they did. Hail damage was not the reason for the repair. Work started a week later, was done in two days. Very professional, cleaned up after themselves I didn't have to do anything. I can't see the roof but they took a few pictures and lt looks good. Only minor complaint is that they didn't put the satellite cable back very neatly 9from the dish down to the side of the house) so it's sticking out a bit. I had to get the finish guy to even do that much with a little grumbling. would have taken 10 minutes to do a neater job.

Nothing stood out with them. They were professional though with the estimate. There were no complications either with the estimate.

I called Blue Sky on a Friday for an estimate and Stanley came out the same day about 5:30. He gave me an honest opinion of the work required to fix the leak, proven by the fact the others had told me a similar fix to my problem. He even gave me the dollar amount before he left, thus I did not have to wait to find out how much it would be. I liked that. After reviewing all the estimates, I chose Blue Sky. They gave me a very reasonable estimate and could start work the following week. Everything went smoothly. The two gentlemen who came out to do the work started right away at 10:00 am and stayed until almost 7:00 pm to get the job done. They cleaned up after themselves and were very respectful of the property.

You will not be disappointed dealing with this family run business. Chris is a pleasure to deal with, he gave me a fair and honest quote for all the work I needed done. I received quotes from 5 local roofers that were all very highly rate with both the Better Business Bureau and Angieslist. Blue Sky had the best price. Chris is great, he really knows his roofing. He is easy to get a hold of by phone or email and very is professional. I highly recommend this company. The work is now completed, they did an excellent job! The work area was left very clean. It was a pleasure dealing with this company from start to finish.

I was very satisfied with their work. They did the job efficiently. They were very pleasant to deal with. I have no complains. They were very responsive. They were here when they said. I would use them in the future.

They did a very good job. They communicated well. They were swift. They finished the work in less than a day. They were upfront about the fact that they did not offer warranty on repairs so that I do not have any illusions about that. They were very straightforward. If I had another roof repair, I would probably call them. I needed to get my roof replaced, which was something they told me. I was not financially able to do that at the time and I let them know. They said they understood and asked me to think of them when I do get it replaced. I would use their services again in the future.

Overall, I would say this company did a good job. At the beginning, we were a little bit worried because we signed the contract and mailed a deposit check and didn't hear back from them for a few weeks. When we called they let us know that they were a little bit backed up due to weather delays and they gave us a start date. The start date was pushed back again due to their own delays but that was fine - our roof wasn't leaking or anything so another week didn't make a difference. Once they crew started, they worked hard. It was very hot the first day and I think they were here working for 12 hours. I did not ever see one person standing around or taking a break - it seemed like they really wanted to get the work done and because it was supposed to rain that night they wanted to get things in place to make sure there would be no leaks. In fact, the fact that they didnt stop working was an issue. It was almost 9:00 PM and they were still working and it was very loud. I had to ask 3 times to make sure they would stop working by 9 PM because it would just be too loud and disturbing to our neighbors. They did stop and we didnt have that issue again. The only other issue we had was that they absolutely destroyed flowers/plants both in our yard and on the side of our house in our neighbor's yard. Our neighbors were pretty upset and said they just spent $200 to plant those flowers. When I talked to the owner I told him what happened and before I could even request the $200 so I could be reimbursed from what I paid our neighbors back for their destroyed flowers, he immediately said, what can I do? If I credit th $200 to the final bill is that acceptable to you? This is exactly what I would expect from a professional company and I was pleased that they did this without any hassle. Since the roof has been on, we've had several huge rain storms and havent had any problems so I feel happy with the final product.

We had been experiencing a leakage coming from roof that caused water damage in our ceiling drywall. We interviewed four companies all from Angie's List including Blue Sky Roofing. We decided to go with Paul because we liked his professional opinion and fair estimate. He's very profesional but a really busy guy! We set up an appointment and he sent over a member of his crew to do the job. Everything was done in one day. We certainly hope his repair will stop our water damage. Steve & Allie Carow

The estimator was incredibly honest. I had one contractor that told me to tear down and replace the whole roof. While Blue Sky was VERY honest and told me that I didn't need a new roof for another 5-10 years. He also indicated that they could put shingles over the existing roof. I love this firm!! The moral of the story, get multiple estimates, and call Blue Sky. I will use them in the near future for another job. Thanks Blue Sky!

It went very well and I'm satisfied with their service

Their quote was reasonable. The person that came out was Paul. He took pictures of the project and explained everything that needed to be done. The job included removing the main roof and lower flat roof, as well as some masonry work. He itemized each of the jobs and emailed a proposal, and sent a hard copy within a week as well. He also made a follow up call to ensure we received his proposal. The estimate was for approximate $10,000. Paul was punctual to our appointment time and was quite thorough in what the company would do. While it was a positive experience, we opted to go with another company.

overall it went well, took a bit of time to schedule but once that was done it went well.

My first impression about them was good. We did not get the job done earlier because it was late in the season; we are going to hire them to do the work in the spring. Their estimated price was about $2000. I checked for providers in the area, and they were recommended by a good handful of people. Subsequent to that, I checked Angie?s List, and they had good reviews on there. I went through their website, which was very professional. I could submit an inquiry on the website, which I could do at a time that was convenient for me, and they responded very promptly. The guy that came out seemed to know what he was talking about. We talked about a few options. I had also asked him about doing some work on our concrete stairs, and he offered something that was decorative to cover them, which I did not like. He was not disheartened by that but gave me another option that was more in line with what we were looking for. I would have expected them to call me in March since I had told them that I was looking to do work in the spring, but it looks like I will have to call them now.

Paul was generally very responsive to my questions and was honest in his answers. The work is high quality. We intiated discussion of the roof in August of 2010 and we did not sign a contract until early November. The work was done in mid December, they were in and out in 1 day. When I had a question later about some new wind noise I was hearing Paul responded quickly to my question. The problem resolved on its own, and they did not have to come out, He did offer to do so however.

The experience was very positive. The had a fair price, they were on time and on budget. They completed the work when they said they would which was important to us. They did a nice job.

Great services and they provided estimates for other work while they were there. In the end the weren't the best choice for the job.
