I get very good service from them. I have been using them since 2008 and when I needed some help after I fell on the hardwood floors and they sent a whole crew and I was very sick. I am very pleased. The price that I get and the quality of service that I get is excellent. They are here on time all the time. She always sends a confirming email reminding her clients that they have an appointment that week for the cleaning girl to come. I think that is terrific. They are very professional. The young ladies that she employs are very professional.

Unfortunately, I was honestly very disappointed in American Maids. The women I spoke with on the telephone to schedule the service were professional sounding and friendly. I specifically chose this company because of their supposed experience cleaning window blinds, and my apt. has numerous blinds. However, the women sent to do the cleaning actually destroyed some of the window blinds -they pushed or rubbed so hard that the slats were bent out of shape. They also did not speak or understand English, so, despite being told to stop, they continued what they were doing. They did also clean the kitchen, and did a good job. However, when they finally understood to stop on the blinds, they tried to fill additional time by unnecessarily going back over what they had already done in the kitchen. I brought this issue to the attention of American Maids, and they were very willing and quick to have the damaged blinds repaired. However, they still charged me for the full time the women spent in the apt. I complained, and they did credit me with a 10% cost reduction. (However, I did not receive the Angie's List discount.) I really feel that I should have been given a larger credit to compensate for all of their time except for that used to clean the kitchen. I'm sad to have to make this report as everyone I've spoken with at American Maids on the phone and via email was very nice. I had initially hoped that this company could provide ongoing cleaning services for my apt., but this is now out of the question. Net, this was a very disappointing experience.

It went very well. After this visit ( I used the Angie list coupon for the first visit) I decided to use them on a monthly basis and I have been very happy with their service. Its important to me that they are on time and they are.They are efficient and work rapidly but don't cut corners. They begin on the second floor and work their way downstairs. The cost is $100/ visit.

Consistently on time. While some language challenges, they attempt to have same team every time who clearly know what to do. Very satisfied with end product.

This is the second time I tried American Maids. I have a 1200 sq ft apartment with two bedrooms and one bath. Typically cleaning services can do a complete job when they have 4 cleaning person hours, as they did in both times I used American Maids. Their customer service to schedule and pay was friendly, organized and excellent. Both times the cleaning team was punctual and one person was able to communicate in excellent English. They did a good job of dusting all rooms including cleaning baseboards as I requested. They also asked questions. They worked with energy and care and didn't make phone calls or leave early. However, both times I had to wash all the floors again when they left (and the rinse water was black). Although I reviewed the problem of the floors not being clean the first time with the second team, they weren't clean the second time either. I don't know if I'll try them again. If I do, I'll discuss with both the scheduler and team that they need to rinse the floors until the water is clear. Or I'll have them do something else other than wash floors.

I contacted Ilona by email and arranged a suitable time and day. I was called beforehand by someone who must have thought I spoke Polish (my surname is Ukrainian but it is my husband's name and neither of us speak Polish). He then spoke some English to say when the cleaning women would arrive. They did arrive and set about their work. I had given a detailed list online of the work I wanted done but one of the women seemed not to know what was on it and asked, for example, if I wanted the bathroom clean. Later she said that she had a copy of my list. The cleaning was well done. They are very thorough. My only complaint is that neither person spoke much English. One of them tried to communicate with me but she had a hard time understanding. I felt pretty frustrated at this since I wanted to communicate which areas needed more attention and which less. In the end, it worked out but it was a challenge.

I too purchased Groupon deal for American Maids---BIG mistake! I have NEVER been SO incredibly disappointed w/any work done by anyone, EVER. 2 young girls arrived for 2 hrs. They were asked to clean 2 small bathrooms (not that dirty--but I wanted that "shiny clean" look), then start in kitchen & basically dust their way thru house until time to go (no big expectations). I'm exhausted mom of toddler twins w/LOTS of dust (not filth), desperate for some cleaning assistance. Cleaning girls looked around & just kept saying my house was tooo dusty/dirty. Then I was told they don't "do that" (dusting, moving/touching/reaching things...), only "General Cleaning" & seemed rather stunned that I was really asking them to "clean"(??!). Again, we're only talking dust here; nothing gross, sticky, messy or stacked up. Girl 1 did bathrooms. She cleaned sink, toilet & bathtub. Nothing else. Base of toilet dirty, faucet & knobs murky, tub walls still streaky, & nothing else touched in room. Water ran in bathroom no more than 3 min (how do you scrub a bathroom w/no water?). I sent her back 3 times. That is all she did in 2 hrs & it did not shine when she left. :( Floors untouched. LiquidSoap dispenser still covered in soap. My husband does a better job in 30 min.! Our bathrooms are tiny. Girl 2 worked kitchen. Very basic wiping (no cleaning/ no scrubbing). Sink was left dirty. She saw my disappointment & did put some basic effort into some general dusting of surfaces as time moved on. She was sweet & meant well, but I don't think either girl had ever "cleaned" before. Its not brain surgery---just requires some initiative and effort (I "thought" that was what I had paid for..?). At one point I was literally showing them "how to" dust; and not facetiously. It just made me sad. The last 45 min or so, Girl 2 did make some effort. She made a quick swipe thru 2 bedrooms upstairs on top surfaces, not items (frames, book tops, nicknacks, shelves in our room still dusty). NO other rooms in house touched. No floors done (I didn't see the point anymore). Many things not replaced or just all mixed up. They were very quick to leave when time was up. Yes, American Maids can say this was only a "deal", but they "advertised" their services as a "full visit" (I'm supposed to want to hire them again!), and our home did not even get a $50 cleaning out of this. [Note: I had a different cleaning service frm Angie's List here last year: 2 girls/2 hrs and they "cleaned" floor-to-ceiling 2 whole floors of my entire house, and my bathrooms were gleaming! They did break a couple things--they moved FAST--but everything just Sparkled!! So I know it can be done.] AM owner may respond any way she likes (however, this is a forum for customers opinions, that we pay to share w/others who have hard-earned financial decisions to make regarding services we need to purchase. I have nothing to gain or lose (except my very precious time in writing this). But the truth is, I frustratingly wept when they left today, and my 4 y/o came up & said "Don't worry mommy, I'll clean the counter for you" and got the step stool, a wet sponge & Method cleaner bottle & wiped my island counter that hadn't been touched (& did a better job, with a smile to boot!). So it is my opinion that there are much better cleaning services available out there, if you are looking for a REAL house cleaning (not just a wipe down).

The experience has been exceptional with American Maids since the intial Angie's List Big Deal. Izabella and Ilona have worked within their office management to accommodate any appointment time or special requests. All of their associates have been timely, professional and provided extremely quality work. They provide a checklist allowing each client to go through the details of each cleaning to verify the work done. I would like to make special mention of Tetiana and Oksana, who have both done an exceptional job at my residence and are a testament to this company's quality.

I bought the service through Groupon. It was supposed to be 4 Man-Hours of cleaning. They sent to young women who were late, but not egregiously so. Due to the time constraints, I asked them to prioritize the kitchen, bathrooms and floors. One hour and 45 minutes later, they announced that they were finished. Since they had taken the time during the 4 man-hours to find eachother on different floors to chat, I assumed that they must have been running ahead of schedule. But no -- none of the rooms had been thoroughly cleaned (no wastebaskets emptied, floors untouched, shower uscrubbed, several dusty surfaces). I pointed out to them that the two hours had not yet lapsed and that the work was not completed. They shrugged and told me to call the owner. Then they gave me a form to sign. I went through the form and identified each point on their checklist that had not been completed. I also made a notation that they left early. Then I called Ilona, the owner, to discuss the service. Her response was that she didn't believe me, didn't care and that because I purchased their services at a discounted price, I shouldn't have expected them to do a thorough job. She also stated that they were probably discussing "cleaning" on my time, but because they spoke in another language, I could neither confirm or deny what topics they covered. Her final argument was that I signed the form, so American Maids was exonerated from any fault-finding. She said plenty of people like them, so my experience was of concern to her. I was floored!!!! I have never witnessed such poor business ethic in my life. When I saw that they were on Angie's List, I felt it my duty to warn people AWAY from this company. I feel I have been cheated and am deeply dismayed. I would not recommend their services to anyone! Please consider removing them from THE LIST!!!!!

American Maids has an excellent communication system in place; they were very thorough in making sure they knew what was needed, and made sure I knew what to expect. They were punctual, professional and did a very nice job.

I had used American Maids several weeks earlier and they did an OK job but not great. I contacted them after the service and they asked for details regarding everything I noticed that was not OK and were very eager to ensure it was corrected if they cleaned again. So decided to try one more time. The company is VERY responsible and professional. But the cleaning was about the same as the previous time. Things I mentioned were addressed better but other things missed again. My standards are not THAT high... but there were foot prints visisble on cleaned floors... grit/dirt left on bare floors that could be seen. Obvious areas around windows/blinds that were not dusted. The several of the blinds were dented/bent from being too rough when dusting. Again the refrigerator was completely missed. My frustration is mainly that the checklist they provided listed these things and the cost was VERY HIGH compared to any other maids I have used or contacted for estimates. My house is less than 2500 sqft and rather modest. It seems very high to pay $200 for it to be lightly cleaned. I had really high hopes for American Maids. They were not terrible just not nearly good enough to justify the high cost.

I selected American Maids because they were one of the highest rated on Angie's list. They were VERY responsive and immediately had someone out to perform a review of my house and provide an estimate. The provided pricing for a first time cleaning and then for ongoing cleaning. During the past 10 years I have had 4 different maid services at my home. American Maids were 30-40% higher than any other. But I was very impressed with their approach and thought the cleaning might be worth the higher price.The "initial cleaning" was supposed to be far more detailed than regular ongoing cleaning. They provided a checklist and were able to get their work completed in 4 hours. (All 4 other maid services I had used never exceeded 3 hours for same house). And the cleaning was good... not great and some things were missed. For the VERY high price I really expected far more.

They did a good job, they were in house about 3 hours from start to finish. The company seems good and reliable however they have yet to call and set up regular day and time for future cleaning yet. Their workers were polite and prompt, and did a quality job for a first cleaning. The test will be how the outcome is on future visits.

Two maids arrived within the time period they told me they would. As far as I could tell, they performed a good job and did everything I asked them to do. Since there were two maids they stayed for only 2 hours instead of the 4 hours, which was good, because they were finished faster. I would hire them again in the future, if needed

The work they did was very good. I purchased a Big Deal with them through Angie’s List that was good for 6 months. I called and asked them if I could extend it and the woman I spoke with said I had 1 year to use it. I called them, about 7 months later, and they said they wouldn’t do the work for me because it was expired. I then asked them for my money back because they told me the wrong thing and they refused. They told me they would give a $55 credit towards the full price for a job. Though they did a really wonderful job, I will never hire this company in the future because of their poor customer service.

This company is fantastic! The crew that comes to my home is always punctual and professional. They consistently ask me if there are any special projects that need their attention each visit. Also, not only are they thorough, but they do a great job of putting things back in their proper places. We’ve been working with each other for over a year, and they’ve never damaged or broken anything in my home. The company is very flexible with scheduling, and open to rearranging our regularly scheduled appointments. I think the owner is professional, and I would give her company my recommendation.

Overall, everything was good. Two women arrived; they were prompt, courteous, and efficient. Basically, they took care of everything I needed help with.

They always do great work, and I think they are a reliable company. I’ll definitely continue using, and recommending, their service.

My experience went well. The folks that came arrived on time and did good, thorough work. This was the first time I had used a cleaning service, and I’m happy that everything went so smoothly.

I ended their services after noticing several pieces of jewelry missing and determining that the only explanation was that one of the cleaning employees was responsible. (The company sent different people to clean on different days.) I notified the company, and essentially their response was that I mislaid the pieces. I also filed a police report though it is unlikely the items will be recovered.

They weren't able to clean the kind of windows I have. Before they came out I explained what kind of windows I had. The windows open up, and they didn't know how to tilt the windows to clean them, leaving them dirty on the outside. I didn't feel that they did a very good job overall. I feel that if I would have explained a little more in detail what I wanted done, they may have done a better job.

They showed up right on time, and brought all their own supplies. It was a very thorough basic cleaning. I had been working seven days a week for a while and had gotten behind on my house cleaning. This was a perfect kickstart. Cleaning materials had very little scent. The only other time I had a cleaning service (a different company), the cleaning materials scent was not very pleasant. Overall a very good experience, and would use this company again.

My first experience using My American Maids was excellent! They were incredibly responsive: easy to schedule the appointment, reminded me via email and phone. Iryna and Martyna did an amazing job. The two of them came for 2 hours (equivalent to 4 man-hours) and did a meticulous job cleaning my apartment. They were so polite, and I'm really looking forward to having them come back next month to clean again. I would wholeheartedly recommend them. In fact, I've already told my friends how great they were.

I learned of this company from an Angie's Big Deal back in February, but only recently got around to requesting their services. I had a hard time setting up the appointment with them for some reason and had to contact Angie's List to finally get a response. We set a day and time frame within which they would show up. I waited within that two hour time frame and finally received a call with about 10 minutes to go that the team was running late due to traffic. However, once the two women turned up they cleaned steadily for a good two hours and did a marvelous job. My home looks sparkling. I think they even tackled the blinds over the kitchen sink which i had not requested but which do look better. It seemed that they spoke English only a little but that did not present any problem. My only reservation is that they did not wipe off the dlight switches nor the fingerprints around door knobs on doors, but that has been true of other cleaning services too unless I have specifically requested it. Still that is something I can do easily while the level of floor cleaning and the quality of their work in the kitchen and bathroom would take me a long time. My kitchen cabinets look practically smudge free! They were also kind to my aged cat and did not mind her at all. So I have no complaints. When finished, I was given an invoice to sign to verify their work. And then they left me to appreciate the fruits of their labor.

It did not turn out well. The ladies who came broke one of my curtain rods. I had told them to continue cleaning and I would deal with the rod but they continued to try to fix the rod, and therefore neglected some of the cleaning. I don’t feel like I received my money’s worth of cleaning done.
