Ambir and her assistant Amy arrived at home promptly at 9 AM. The task involved cleaning and organizing my 2.5 car garage and loft above the garage. The were organized and efficient. The assessed the situtation determined a "game plan" and executed the plan with great efficiency. They were respectful to my decisions to keep some items and purge others. They called the "junk man" for pick up and hauled away the donations. I would recommend this company highly!

Amber arrived right on time and she did not waste one second from beginning to end. She knows exactly what she is doing and was amazed at how efficiently and quickly she worked. We first started in the laundry room/closet. We have shelving units installed on the wall and my husband and I packed everything onto the shelves. But with Amber's help, she was able to clear out 2 shelves for us for additional storage! We have still yet to fill it in with our "stuff". Next we moved onto the kitchen. Again, after our move we packed in all our kitchen items and pantry food items into any space we could find. Amber, again, created 2.5 additional shelves of storage for us! She is wonderful and very pleasant to work with. I highly recommend her to anyone and the price is definitely worth it. She also gave great storage tips along the way for two other rooms in my home. I will be using her again in the near future to help organize our toy area and office.
Description of Work: We just moved into a new townhome in May 2010 and needed desperate help getting my kitchen and laundry room organized. Our project is ongoing. Amber first stopped by for an initial consultation and spent about an hour walking through our house, evaluating the problem areas. She then gave us an estimate of how many hours she thought each room would require. Her estimates have been accurate. So far we've had three sessions (two with Amber and one with one of her associates). We've accomplished a lot in those three sessions, each of which was ca. 3-4 hours. Amber is extremely efficient. She arrives ready to work, and she works quickly. In our first session, she worked with us in our family room, helping us sort through toys, clothes, magazines, books, etc. She has a good sense of what can be donated and what should just be thrown out. Her associate came on a Saturday (which was great) and worked with us in our basement. She was great, too--pleasant and very efficient. In our third session, Amber helped me begin to tackle our paperwork, which tends to accumulate in our kitchen, dining room, and office. She knows what should be kept and what can safely be shredded. And she helped me set up a system for dealing with incoming mail, etc., which has helped keep papers from piling up. I appreciate her no-nonsense approach, though of course it can be hard to be objective about things that have sentimental value (e.g., my kids' old toys and books). This kind of work can be exhausting and overwhelming, so it's great to have someone with a lot of energy and enthusiasm helping us. We have more work to do, and Amber has been patient, letting us set the pace of the project. Unfortunately, work sometimes gets in the way of life, but we want to have her back soon to try and finish this project once and for all (I'd say we're about half done). I highly recommend Amber's Organizing to anyone who needs help clearing clutter and/or organizing a room or a whole house!

I was diagnosed w/cancer just about the time I moved into my new home. With little time between chemotherapy treatments and no energy, I was completely overwhelmed by all the boxes and the prospect of unpacking. Amber came to my rescue! I've never seen anyone work with such diligence or intensity! She toils at "full tilt" from the moment she walks in until the moment she leaves, never stopping to take a break, much less a breath. After only two 3-hour sessions, she transformed my spare bedroom into a warm and welcoming guest room! Then we moved on to tackle smaller tasks. Amber is a consummate professional and was never judgmental of my seemingly slovenly ways. She was a master at helping me realize that I could, indeed, part with many of my precious possessions. :-) Without a doubt, replacing the chaos and clutter with calm and serenity has given me a new lease on life! Amber was fantastic! She listens to you, understands what you want, makes suggestions you would never have thought of on your own and then gets it done. She is so energetic which is wonderful considering how difficult it is to move with little kids. Amber brought professionalism and fun to a task that had is normally quite exhausting. She promptly returned my phone calls and was always on time. I used her because of her excellent reputation and the many great comments she received on Angie's List from members (the last reviewer must have been having a bad day since I did not experience anything of the sort from Amber) and I would recommend in her in a second to anyone.
Description of Work: Over the course of a weekend, Amber organized the unpacking of our "pod" and all of 50+ boxes as we moved into our new home. She also installed elfa shelving and closet organizers throughout our house. Not only did she unpack everything, but she organized and stored our belongings as if we had been living in the new home all along.

It was overall a very negative experience. She was very judgemental. She had a bunch of rules. She didn't work on anyone's home if someone smoked. She tried to lighten this by saying she would send one of her other people to do to the work. I wouldn't use her in the future.

Amber is always good about returning phone calls (which I'm finding rare lately) and promptly scheduling the appointment. She showed up and we started in on a project I had been procrastinating on for a long time. We got the whole thing done in just under 4 hours. Since we had to get rid of some chemicals (old paint, remover, oil, etc) Amber recommended a salvage company that was able to remove all of the garbage plus the chemicals.

Amber did a great job, digging right in and getting the job done. She doesn't waste any time, and has a very orderly way of looking at the organization problem and deciding what to do first, second, etc. She is very hands on, and worked harder than I did! She helps you look at your stuff with an independent eye, but doesn't waste time convincing you something should be donated or thrown away if you push back, she backs off and moves on to the next thing, so you don't feel pressured to get rid of stuff, unless you want to. I tried many times in the past to get organized, but just didn't have the ability to get much done, much less finish the job. I will definitely use her again, in fact I already have used her for the kitchen and laundry.
Description of Work: Amber helped organize my master bedroom and closet and get all the stuff in my bedroom to fit back into the closet on her initial visit. It was so successful that I have had her back several times to work on other areas, including the kitchen/pantry and laundry areas. She will be coming back to work on the kid's toys and the garage next.

As good as it could have. I am so pleased and dare I say, excited, to complete my tax prep in an office that has nearly tripled in size. We loaded four garbage bags full of unneeded paper and manuals for recycling as well as completing several binders--she completely organized and filled them year by year--for tax purposes. I would recommend her in a heartbeat because we all just keep putting it off. She probably saved me two to three days of pushing stuff around on top of the future time savings of an intact system.
Description of Work: Amber was contracted to help me make sense of a home office gone mad. She was extremely efficient and motivated to help bring me relief and sanity from my overgrown paper tiger. We dissected folders, boxes, piles, opened mail, moved furniture. She straight up rocked! Now I have dedicated stations for incoming mail, bills, urgent and non-urgent tasks, etc etc. It is such a relief.

Working with Amber was a terrific experience. I think most people dread the idea of organizing and cleaning up spaces that have gotten out of control. For me, a few spots in our home became extra cluttered and disorganized over the holidays, and subsequently I felt helpless on where to begin. Having Amber come over to team with me, and show me the way out, was a real gift to myself. Instead of being a chore, I felt very empowered and in control of my space again. Amber has boundless energy and coaches you through your session as you make practical decisions on what's needed, what's not needed, and how to best use your space and possessions. She was able to use many of the containers and storage items we already had which kept extra purchases to a minimum. The time seemed to fly by because we were accomplishing so much. I am amazed at the progress we were able to make in two sessions. I highly recommend using Amber's Organizing for any type of home organizing project you have. This type of personal home service is truly liberating if you feel weighted down by clutter. I needed the extra support to get the initial systems in place, but now feel like our family will be able to move forward and stay much more organized.

Amber arrived on time and ready to work. She was professional, polite and hard-working. We began going through each box and determining the disposition of each item. Along the way Amber made great suggestions about how to store the items we were keeping. She helped me make good decisions about what I really needed to hold on to. She suggested a company I could call to haul away all of our donated goods as well as the trash. The company happened to be available the same day and they arrived just when Amber and I were finishing our work. Amber is professional, hard-working, friendly and helpful. I would recommend her to anyone and I hope to work with her again. I was amazed at how much we accomplished in three hours. My husband was blown away when he saw our newly organized garage.

We did not know where to start with this project, it had gotten so out-of-hand. Amber jumped right in and immediately had us working together to make sense of what needed to go and how to go about getting it out of the house. She helped us make good decisions about what to keep and what to throw away. It quickly became obvious that we were going to throw out far more stuff than we anticipated, and she was able to draw upon her extensive contacts to find us a junk hauler who was able to come the next morning to take everything away. Amber's friendly and persistent style kept us all moving and we accomplished far more in two days than we ever thought possible. We honestly would never have done as much and had such a thorough cleanout without her guidance and experience. She has obviously done a lot of work like this and we benefited greatly from having her. We were reluctant to ask for help for a long time because we were embarrassed by the mess we had let accumulate. Amber never made us feel bad about it and we are so glad we hired her.
Description of Work: Amber provided assistance with a major basement cleanout project over a two day period. Amber came in an coached me immediately, rolled up her sleeves and wasted no time getting started. I had as my goal (for years) cleaning out certain file cabinets and closets and actually organizing our home - I could not have accomplished it without her. She is absolutely terrific, a pleasure to work with. She lugged 4 or 5 car loads of donations for me and helped me dispose of things that were not usable. When we move into our two new homes, Amber will help us unpack and organize those homes!! I cannot rave more about her.

It went very well. I had dreaded it because of an experience with another organizer that left my Mom upset (she thought the organizer threw out too much). Amber was very professional and worked non-stop. She went through every piece of clothing and all of the knick-knacks with my parents. She explained why things should be thrown out vs. kept or donated. She was also trying to teach my Mom new behaviors to keep things from getting out of hand in the future. She helped carry out the garbage to the aly and then helped me take everything to Salvation Army. I want to hire her to do the whole house now! What really made me happy was that Amber's goal was not just to get the task at hand done, but to make sure that things would remain organized going forward. She clearly had our long term interests at heart.
Description of Work: We needed to clear out my parent's upstairs bedroom and 3 closets. It had become a messy storage area for 32 years worth of stuff. It went great. I was totally overwhelmed by the towering boxes the movers dropped off when I called Amber in a bit of a panic after finding her website. She got a small crew together and came the very next day! We all worked together, unpacking, breaking down boxes, "purging" (which I wasn't able to do before moving), organizing, and putting things away. It wasn't just their physical labor that was so helpful, but their advice and suggestions and organizational expertise (lots of "that dresser would work better over there," "let's put all the baking supplies in this cabinet," etc.). They were great at nudging me towards getting rid of the superabundance of junk, especially toys. On the other hand, I have just tons of kids' books that I couldn't cull very well, but they didn't make a big deal out of it. I thought I could do all the unpacking myself. I could have, but I probably would have met an early death -- that or my 2 kids would have watched Madagascar 245 times. Instead, we're pretty much settled, thank goodnesss. They were super nice people and fun to have around, and I am so grateful for how hard they worked to get us moved in. Bonus: they even took tons of things to donation drop-off for me.
Description of Work: They (Amber plus 2-3 other helpers depending on the day) unpacked and organized our new 3-level 5 bedroom house over the course of only three days. They helped me purge lots of junk and put everything away. I was essentially combining 2+ households, and the movers weren't able to put things in the right rooms (or even on the right floors!) when they came, so stuff was absolutely everywhere. Everywhere. Totally overwhelming. Amber and her ladies came, and with amazing efficiency and energy, they (with my participation--there's a lot of decision-making you really have to be there for) got everything unpacked and put away in 3 days. I'm telling you, it was awesome, they even checked the expiration dates on all my toiletries before they put them away. They ran boxes and even some heavy furniture up 3 flights of stairs until they were physically exhausted and did so with a good spirit and an excellent sense of humor. I worked with them, and it took us three days, but now I actually feel like we are pretty much moved in. It would have taken us months and months to accomplish all this ourselves.

Amber is remarkably high energy, and task-focused. Great results in a relatively short period of time. She has a knack for making you do the things you sort of know you should be doing, but without being pushy. She can get you to part with your old clutter and make sure you understand what you're keeping, and why you need it. After moving several boxes simply marked "wires" through three different homes, I finally managed (with Amber's help) to detangle, tie up, and sort them all in just a couple hours. I still have more work to do on a filing system, but all my non-paper work items all have a place now, and everything is where it belongs. My productivity in the home office is through the roof now that I'm no surrounded my mentally handicapping piles of junk. When I finish with the last of the paper organizing, I'm confident that I'll have even more free time, just because I'll no longer waste any time or energy wondering where something is, or where it should go.

I met Amber at the storage space at 8:30am. We started sorting right away. It was difficult for me to get through the boxes to make decisions about what to do with things, but Amber was extremely helpful in assisting me to accomplishing what I needed to get done. Overall, it took us 4 1/2 hours to get through what would have take me 3 days or so to accomplish. Amber helped me use my time very, very effectively. I valued the service she provided because I was able to get through a very difficult task and get it done as quickly as possible without spending more time doing something I had been dreading for quite some time. I had made a three hour appointment with Amber to go through 12 boxes of files with me, but when she got here, I showed her my dirty, damp, and cluttered pantry and we agreed that hitting that would have the greatest impact. She is like a heat-seeking missile. Goes right for the biggest mess and starts sorting and throwing out. She even took away extra food and supplies to a shelter (with my agreement). At the end of three hours, we had cleared the entire pantry and sorted everything, had four large bags of garbage, which she took out to the alley for me, had three large boxes of items to be donated, AND had the pantry measured for new shelves by a designer at a closet organizing company. Amber has tremendous energy, a ruthless sense of what to keep and what to get rid of (and how) and terrific ideas for how to organize what remains. My pantry shelves are scheduled for installation in two weeks and then my life will be changed for the better! I made a second appointment for four hours to tackle the file boxes and then decided when she arrived that my office and files there were more important. She once again was twice as productive as me in actually getting through things and had a number of effective ideas for containerizing and organizing office stuff that I'm still implementing, but have already changed the effectiveness and feel of my office. I've made another appointment to attack those 12 file boxes, but who knows where we'll turn our attention to next!

She is wonderful! She will even take things to the Goodwill for you when you're finished! The price listed is what I spent each time I used her. I have recommended her to several people. She works extremely fast. People might think her hourly charge is kind of high, but she got done in three hours more than I could get done in probably three days. Her prices were a bargain in the end. She even called to check up and see how I was doing in the months afterwards! She gave me advice over the phone too. I plan on using her again soon. Description of Work: I used her two or three times. She came in and made order out of chaos. She helped me sort, pack and repack all the boxes in my basement. She got them so now they are clearly labeled and stacked neatly so I can find everything I need. On another visit she did the same thing in the house. I had a ton of clutter in some drawers and closets. She helped me a lot in the closets with cleaning out, sorting and what we called "editing" a bunch of stuff.

With her help we can now park all 3 cars in the garage and have a system for storing everything there. She recommended an inexpensive yet attractive storage system for getting items off the floor and stored on the wall or in bins on racks. I no longer feel overwhelmed whenever I need something from the garage. It was too much of a task for 1 person but with her guidance and help. I was able to get it done. The kitchen was totally reorganized on a separate visit. Pots, pans and even spices are much easier to get to now. She reworked the drawers, cupboards and pantry in a way that made sense. Now I go to grab a pan and I don't have to go through a giant stack to get to it. Also, now that everything has a place it's been easy to maintain what she and I did together. We are also very pleased with how our basement looks now. During this visit we dedicated ourselves to turning that space from a disorganized area which no one wanted to spend any time in into a clean, spacious recreation area. Now we can use that space for its intended purpose. She also showed me how to make better use of the space we have. Amber is a very hard worker! She always shows up on time and is professional and friendly. She works fast to give you the full benefit of the time she's there. I would recommend her to anyone needing help getting their house organized. Instead of wasting hours of time trying to figure out what to do with things it is very helpful to have her come in and lend you her expertise--saves a lot of time and aggravation. We continue to request Amber's services and consider her an indispensable part of finally getting our house organized! She has made such a difference!
