Deck cleaning

Sam gave us a bid in late Spring for our front porch. We exchanged emails over the next few weeks as I tried to pin down the details of the job. When we spoke on the phone prior to the original estimate I told him I wanted the entire front porch painted. His quote came back at $1100. I emailed him to clarify that this would include the trim work and I also added in our porch swing and front bay window. He wrote back saying that these items would increase the price to $1825 plus another $100 if I wanted the shutters painted as well. During this time I also solicited some other bids. Based on the Angie's List reviews among other things, I decided to go with Alternatives. I forwarded back our email string and said that we'd like to go ahead with the job for the $1925. The next day I received a new "estimate" that suddenly jumped up to $2650. When I asked him about it he said that this now was the price he needed to charge. When I mentioned that I thought his approach was unprofessional and that I would report this to Angie's list, he responded that I was being "childish." Hmmm. Obviously, we didn't go with this company. We found a wonderful company that did the entire job for $1100.

Sam came out to give me an estimate on the Saturday I called. My patio had become grey with mold. He assured me that after cleaning it would be a night and day difference, and that the cleaning solution they use would not harm the plants. His guys were able to come over one afternoon, and the job was done, and looked as promised.

Sam came out and gave me a bid. I hired him and they started the work almost immediately. After washing the deck, I decided a few boards needed to be replaced - which was not in the original quote.They got the new boards and installed them quickly. Lastly, the whole deck was sealed.

Sam is prompt in returning phone calls and starting the job. Mine had to be sanded due to the type of stain previously used. The crew arrived on time removed all items from the deck, worked hard all day and cleaned everything up at the end. Sam came by to make sure the job was completed to my satisfaction. I will definitely use Sam again next summer as I had some brick work done and they ruined the deck finish! Sam, see you in May!

Very prompt response. Painting was completed in two days. High quality. The owner dropped by to inspect the job. Highly recommended.

He finishes each job perfectly to the clients satisfaction, and we have used him for 3 years uses high end stains and we are always pleased. He comes out on time, gets the job done in a good amount of time, really does a wonderful job. Always comes back and checks on his work. Always accessible on his phone.

Excellent. They power washed not only the porch, but all of the other places where there was mold around the front of my building. They were flexible in scheduling when it was convenient to me, showed up on time and were very friendly.

I called and left a message requesting a quote. Mr. Alt called me back the same day and we discussed the job. He came and evaluated the porches and provided a quote the next day. Within a week from the initial contact, all work had been completed. In addition to cleaning the front porch, Alternatives cleaned the walk to the fence and the concrete along the side of the front of the house. The work was done very well and I would hire this company again without hesitation.

Sam Alt is a very professional gentleman. It is always a pleasure to do business with someone who is knowlegable, does work when promised, and does a great job. I wish I could have said that about the person who built the porch! We will have him back next year for the next sealing. And I would recommend his services to anyone.

He was very easy to deal with and very responsive. He did very good work. His choice of stains might not have been my first choice, but he was willing to come and he was terrific. I liked him very much, he is a neat guy and he was very good.

RETURNED MY CALL FOR AN ESTIMATE QUICKLY AND SCHEDULED THE WORK TO BE DONE AT MY CONVENIENCE. SAM & BRIAN WERE VERY CONSCIOUS OF KEEPING THE INTERIOR OF THE HOUSE CLEAN AS THEY MADE THEIR WAY TO/FROM THE DECK. WORKED QUICKY AND EFFICIENTLY. INCLUDED A MAT TO PROTECT THE DECK UNDER OUR GRILL. GREAT FOLLOWUP AFTERWARDS WITH PHONE CALLS FOR MY QUESTIONS. SAM RETURNED TO SAND THE RAILINGS EVEN FURTHER SINCE THEY WERE SO DRY TO BEGIN WITH. I WOULD HAPPILY CALL THEM AGAIN AND REFER THEM TO OTHERS.
