Response from Alternative Home Improvement
[Member Name Removed], Before we even started the work on your deck, we discussed (at length I might add) that because the wood was damaged and discolored due to you having items on the deck such as storage bins, flower boxes and a few other items that a Transparent stain would not look good and it would NOT cover those areas correctly, to which you said, and I quote, "Yes Sam, I understand and I'll be fine with the outcome". I repeatedly suggested that we use a SOLID STAIN, this will cover all the discolored areas to which you said, "No, my wife does NOT want a solid stain, she wants a Transparent stain" Then you went to the paint store, picked out the stain I recommended against and said this is what I want applied, so we did exactly what you wanted. After all is said an done, you said at the end of the work that you were completely satisfied and sent me the remaining balance. I'm am very disappointed that I can't post MY photos of your deck before we began to show my side of the story and how dis-colored your deck was! This review is the first time that I am hearing that you are dissatisfied. I am surprised you didn't contact me first to discuss this, but everyone sees things differently I guess. After all is said and done, this can be corrected with applying a solid stain over the current stain. 21 years in business and no complaints until now. We stand behind our work and always have. Please feel free to contact me at any time. Thank you and have a great day!
