AA Best Appliance Service

I contacted AA Best Appliance Repair because of their high satisfaction ratings and numerous positive comments from Angie's List users. I spoke with Jane to set up the appointment and she was very friendly and helpful. She explained about how to use their coupon during the service visit. Ivan arrived exactly on time for the appointment and diagnosed the problem very quickly. He located the broken part and explained the reason it broke. He called when he had the replacement part and came back the next day, exactly on time again. Installing the new part took minutes and Ivan was very careful about cleaning up. He even adjusted the soap dispenser and corrected the front panel installation which apparently was never done right at the original installation. Overall a very positive experience from start to finish.

Ivan was very nice on the phone, prompt and gave an estimate which was same as the final cost. He came the day after I called.

This is the second time I've used Ivan and it's always an easy experience. He's very competent, knowledgeable, and sweet. He's great with my toddler and dogs, too. I'll never call anyone else.

My elderly washer was leaking and I fully expected to learn that it would need to be replaced. Ivan arrived right on time (actually a little early), and found a fixed the leak. Aces to AA Best Appliance repair!!!

I called AA Best Appliance twice to repair my GE Washing Machine. The first time Ivan came, he simply re-plugged in the machine and it worked fine (imagine my embarrassment). He wouldn't take a penny, not even for coming out to my house to look at the machine. Several months later, the machine broke in earnest; the company was extremely responsive, paid a service call on a Saturday morning, and Ivan found the problem by ruling out the easiest and least expensive thing first, and he was right! It was a simple clogged tube which he cleaned out with his own ingenuity, and the machine now works again, good as new.

They arrived on time and worked fast to find the source of the problem. It involved dismantling part of the fridge and they seemed to know exactly what they were doing. I was surprised by how quickly they worked. They replaced a broken valve and everything worked great. In terms or speed, knowledge, customer service, etc., it was definitely one of the best repair jobs I've ever had to deal with.

Very excellent - all work completed on a Saturday when I was trying to get out of time. Responsive, prepared and timely. Great experience.

Ivan was professional and knowledgeable. When he fixed the dryer so quickly, we asked him to look at our dishwasher that had not been emptying completely after running it. Ivan was very knowledgeable about the make of the dishwasher. He showed us how to open and clean the filter, something we had not been doing properly. The filter was quite dirty and clogged so Ivan cleaned it and ran the dishwasher to determine if it would now empty properly. He offered to wait to see if it emptied properly but felt that it should. I told him I would call him if it was still not emptying. We did have some more trouble with not emptying after he left so we called him to come back and look at the timer, something he suggested may be contributing to the problem. He came back out at no additional charge a few days later and determined the timer was not operating correctly, but it was so old the part could not be replaced. The dishwasher is about 20 years old. We decided to use it until it stops working altogether and then replace it.

The serviceman arrived on time. He quickly identified the problem then left for a short time to get a part for the dryer. He returned, installed the new part, and the dryer has worked correctly since then.

They were on time and courteous. They explained what they were doing. It was an older refrigerator and he gave some advice on buying a new one. He suggested what brands to look at.

No problem with the company's responsiveness or punctuality. He charged $70 for the call, which he told me prior to the call so this was no surprise. Prior to installing the part he told me the part cost $120.00. I questioned him about this but he said this was the cost of the part. Since I would already have to pay the $70.00 for the call, I agreed and he went ahead with installing the part. After he left I checked on line (using the part # and same brand-using the box for the part he left) and discovered the part cost $40!!! I understand he needs to charge a markup but 300% is completely taking advantage of the consumer. I will never use this company again nor would I recommend them to anyone I know.

After doing a load of wash, I opened the machine and the cycle had stopped at the end of the wash cycle. When I reset the machine to the beginning of the cycle it worked until it was time to drain the water for the spin cycle. He came and pointed out to my husband where the switch that allows the machine to spin when the door is closed was broken, telling the washer the door was open when it was not. He explained how it could happen and ways we could prevent it in the future. He was prompt, worked quickly, did not leave a mess and was very helpful.

We were late getting into Chicago from a vacation. I called the office to explain that I would not make the appointment. The tech waited and fit us in anyway;.

Ivan arrived promptly as scheduled. He moves very quickly and was very knowledgeable. I appreciated his honesty as he explained that the commercial washing machine was not worth repairing and saved us lots of money. He repaired the other washing machine in short order and was on his way. It was one of the best experiences that I have had with a repair service.

They came out in a timely manner and, upon dissembling the dryer, quickly diagnosed the cause of the problem as being a piece of jewelry stuck in the drum that was thumping every time it rotated.

It went great. I called over the weekend, and they responded before 9am Monday. They came that same morning, within the hour window they gave me, and repaired the machine quite impressively. I would definitely use them again, though I would prefer not to have the dishwasher break again. :-) Clearly there's a reason they are ranked so highly.

I left a message for them on Sunday, and they were able to come out the following day. This is second time we've used them, and we've been happy with their work both times.

Everything went perfectly. We scheduled the service, he showed up on time, diagnosed the problem, got to work, and gave recommendations for continued care.

My experience with AA Best Appliance / Ivan has been wonderful. It is very easy to book an appointment with the company and Ivan is always on time. Further, he is very experienced in large appliance repair and easily solves the mechanical problems of my washers and dryers. I have used AA Best Appliance multiple times and I have always been very satisfied.

We called on a Monday and they were able to come that Wednesday. While the repairman was about an hour late and they seemed to have problems located our service order. The repairman was very professional and knowledgeable when he arrived. The service call took less than an hour and he took a part and cleaned the entire machine. The repairman also gave us good advice to call our electric company regarding a possible surge in our electricity. It's been two months, and we've had no more problems with our dryer.

I called this company when my dryer died, and Ivan arrived within a day of my call, diagnosed the problem as a clogged vent, removed and replaced the vent, and cleaned the external vent. The total charge: $129.00. Ivan seemed intent on teaching me how to avoid this problem in the future by showing me how to clean out the vent periodically and even how to clean the external vent (outside the house) and make sure it's fully open. He also suggested rinsing off the lint-catcher weekly. He was brisk, professional, and had a good sense of humor. A month after the dryer quit, the oven did the same, so I called again, and this time Ivan's co-worker, whose name I can't remember, came to the rescue very quickly. Once again, I was given a crash-course, this time in how to clean my burners properly so they don't clog up and create the false impression that they need a new ignition switch when they don't. He also explained how ovens can best be cared for so as to avoid having to buy a new ignition switch too often. This man was a comical non-stop talker, joking and carrying on as he wriggled around on the floor to get under the oven. He worked fast and, like Ivan, seemed to want me to understand what he was doing and how I could avoid having to call again too soon! Total price: $224.00.

Went well, person on phone very courteous and prompt. Was able to schedule the day I called which was a great help! One comment, the person on phone explained the service call charge and discount but did not give the hourly rate-would have liked to know that up front. Ivan did a great job but did not provide an estimate - would have liked one from him as he would have a better idea of the cost. Phone person (Jane) said 10% off service call, which didn't happen. Ivan took 10% of parts & labor instead, my impression was that 10% discount applies to total cost.

Very nice. Showed up on time. Explained and showed me what was wrong. Had replacement part with him, but it was defective. Got another one really quickly and installed it. Couldn't ask for better.

Working with AA Best Appliance could not have been easier.
