AA Best Appliance Service

It went very smoothly. Luckily the pets did not bother him (one large dog and 2 cats). He was courteous when he came and listened carefully to what I had to say before taking the dishwasher apart. He had a sense of humor. He explained the options available for fixing the dishwasher. When asked, he also gave his opinion on what brand to buy so it would last longer (which is what we did). He cleaned up before he left and I thought his price was very very reasonable for the amount of time he spent with us.

Very well, on time arrival, clean repair, excellent review of bill, timely departure.

The seviceman arrived on time. he quickyl diagnosed what was wrong with both appliances and took the time to explain and show me what was wrong. He informed me of the options and provided a written quote for replacement. Unfortunately an electrical short had fried the compressor on the fridge. He tried to replce some wiring and brought in parts from his truck. Only after testing it three times did he confirm that the compressor was truely dead. Because of the cost of replacement for the compressor and it not being a high end fridge he wisely reccomended replacement. He properly diagnosed the issue with the washing machine as well. He asked if I had a purchased an extended warranty for the washer from the store (I Had) and he reccomended I have them come out first and see if they would repair it. He said in the event they would not he would come back and repair it with no additional service charge. He even took a few minutes to look at a leaking humidifier for me even though AA does not service my particular model. What a pleasure to deal with the serviceman.

Fast, professional, affable. The person who took the original call was very clear about the $69 charge for the service call, and also was very clear about the policy as to whether they would fix or replace. It was a no surprises situation, which is exactly what everyone wants.

My husband made the phone call, so I don't know the details of that contact. We were given a 2-hour window on the date of the appointment, and about 20 minutes into that period, Ivan called to say he was on his way(It's always great to get a heads-up call). When he arrived, he came upstairs with his tools and immediately began work. When he was done, he asked for a couple towels to test the spin cycle. He explained that the base plate was in bad shape and described what repairs would probably cost in parts and labor. Then he answered my questions about whom he'd recommend to clean our dryer vent and what brand of washer he'd recommend when I am ready to buy a new one.

Ivan was very professional and helpful. Not only did he recommend that we go a route that essentially made him lose money (opportunity cost of not fixing our dryer, because he recommended that we buy a new one), but he went around our house and told us all of the "trouble signs" to look out for on the rest of our appliances. I strongly recommend Ivan and AA!

Gas oven with electric ignition did not light. Called AA BEST. Appointment made for four days after call. Service performed as expected by Ivan.

I had the unfortunate experience of a gas leak today. Thankfully I called the gas company and a serviceman came out immediately; confirming the leak was coming from my dryer. He was not authorized to fix it so I called this company due to its stellar reviews. The FIRST question I asked the woman who answered the phone is DO YOU SERVICE MY AREA? I live in River West in the city, she enthusiastically said YES. I explained my problem and she said a repair person would call me back to confirm this was work they could actually perform. When the man returned my call he said they DID NOT SERVICE MY AREA. If you can't do the work there is NO NEED TO LIE ABOUT IT. I can understand not wanting to take on a job, I can't understand telling a LAME LIE. Maybe he thought it was an easier way out...but really he just lost a potential customer forever. If I give him the benefit of the doubt and accept maybe he wasn't lying I still don't understand why he wouldn't service the someone living in the middle of the city?

They fixed it very quickly. They came out promptly. He was very friendly. They were very professional. They were very knowledgeable and had all the parts.

I called another company to have them give me more information about the Kenmore machine. They gave me a high quote. So I looked up this company. This company was close in location. They had good reviews on Angie's List and the people were right. The technician they sent was competent and efficient and cleaned up after the work for less money than I was quoted at the other company.

I had to wait a couple of days for my appointment because the dryer broke down right before the New Year's holiday. Mr. Velez arrived within the 2-hour time window specified. He diagnosed the problem, got the replacement piece from his van, and repaired the dryer.

The piece of clothing that got stuck behind the washer drum was removed and the washer now runs normally. The burner posed a bigger problem. The service tech said that the burner would need to be replaced and the part would cost $175 - $250. It would also require a lot of drilling and work to remove the old burner. I told him to forget it and that I would keep lighting it manually. He said he felt he could fix it and worked on it for about 20 minutes. It worked until I cleaned the stove about a week later and water washed away the product used for the repair. The problem became worse than before the repair because the clicking didn't go away even when I lit it manually. I called within the warranty period and was told that the part that stopped the clicking was removed by the tech and replaced by an apoxy that is not waterproof. He said there was no way to replace the removed part. When I asked how I could stop the clicking the tech offered to come back and cut the wires but that it might prevent all the other burners from lighting - it was at my risk. I declined since I felt 4 good burners were better than manually lighting all 5. I called another repair company and found that a Jenn-Air burner would only cost me $40 - a big difference from the price quoted by AA Best. I think service after a sale is very important and if work is not performed satisfactorily, a consumer should not have any issues calling the company back within the warranty period. I don't like hearing a lot of excuses. I don't understand how the tech could be so far off on the price of the needed part. I'm not sure if it was an honest mistake or he just didn't want to make the trip back with the part. Would he have charged me $200 for a $40 part? Apparently others are happy with this company but I'm not sure how they have acted with call-backs. I would also have given them a good review right after the work was performed. I am taken back after reading AA Best Appliance Repair's response to my report. According to my receipt he did not do any repair for free. I am sorry, but if he thinks that I am "stingy" after paying $200.00 for 35 minuets of work, he is not the repair man for me.

Ivan was extremely personable. This is a family run business and you can tell. He even offered to show me how to replace myself, for no cost. He arrived for the initial review, ordered the parts and called a week later to schedule the follow up visit for actual repair. They were always willing to offer me whatever day and time fit my schedule best.

One guy came over & took a look at it & told me what I needed to do. It is an older oven & it needed the fuse replaced. He went & got the piece & replaced it.

Definitely recommend again!! The guy was very nice, professional and quick to solve the problem. With the first part replacement, the dishwasher worked, but he went and made it work better. Also, gave us tips on how to run the dishwasher more efficiently - like running the faucet until the water is warm then turning on the dishwasher. We also asked if they fix dryers and he said, "it depends." They don't clean vents, only repair the dryers themselves, but recommended someone that could help us out.

I left a message for Ivan on Saturday, he returned my call Monday and did the work on Tuesday. He was able to accommodate the time I requested which was greatly appreciated. He replaced the water valve in my washer that was only a year old. He showed me the probable reason for the needed repair was a sediment buildup in my plumbing and alerted me to a potential problem with my dishwasher or other fixtures. He was very professional and answered all my questions.

I wish it had gone better. I guess I'll have to find a different company.

To start with, AA's dispatcher was very nice and she returned my phone call less than one minute after I left her a voice mail. AA was very flexible with their availability, and they were able to show up within 2 days of my call. As for the workmanship, Ivan was great. He was very good about explaining what the problem was and how he was going to fix it. He was very thorough in his work and very personable as well. He fixed the problem and explained how to avoid similar problems in the future. It was very clear that he was more concerned about doing the job right than just completing the job and going on to the next one. I will definitely use their services again.

Ivan was clearly very knowledgeable, quick, friendly, and professional. He told me how to keep the gas ports clean in the future to make sure oxygen got into them. He repaired the problem quickly, and charged me only $40 on top of the charge for coming to evaluate the problem.

The dispatcher at AA was very helpful and was able to accommodate me the same day of my request due to a cancellation on their end. Ivan did the work and was on-time and very professional - also very pleasant to have around. He took the time to explain what was going on with my fridge and what he would have to do to fix it. The estimate he provided was exactly what I paid. I'm not skilled enough to be able to fix my own refrigerator, which is why I needed a repair person. So, it's hard to shell out $200 for anything that seems so easy to someone else. But I don't have a choice. That's the only reason I rated price a B - which is still classified as good.

Ivan came for a service call when my dryer stopped working. He determined there was nothing wrong with it. He gave us some background info on the dryer, like how old it was and how we could expect it to perform in the future. There is a 3-month warranty on the $69 service call, so if something goes wrong in the next 90 days, they will come out for free. Since he has been to look at the dryer, it has been working fine. This is a very good and responsive company. I recommend them to all my friends who have appliance problems.

I got a prompt call back to schedule an appointment, which I did. As it turned out, I needed to reschedule due to some work conflicts, but AA Best was able to accommodate the reschedule when I called back into their office. I was given a time between 10am-12pm, and Ivan showed up as promised within the early part of that time frame. Ivan determined that the legs on the machine had not been properly set at the time the machine was installed. He repaired the legs, leveled the machine and then checked the drum for damage. The drum appeared to still be functioning properly once the machine was properly leveled. Very pleased with all of the information he provided while he was working, as he let me know what he was checking on the machine and why he was checking it. Also appreciated the feedback on the better brands of washers and dryers.

He was great. Very knowledgeable as well as helpful with our problem. Fixed the problem in no time and even taught us a couple of things.

Excellent. No issues here as Manny is very punctual & knowledgeable about his work.

I have used this company several times, most recently to replace a garbage disposal, and previously to fix a non-working oven/range and replace a switch on a dryer. They are ALWAYS professional, prompt, and courteous, and in each case they also performed work above and beyond what had been asked of them. Can't recommend them highly enough.
