A-Alert Exterminating Service Inc

I was originally told that I can have two followup visits. (Within 30 days) First visit, they sent two young men out, who had a pretty good idea of how to handle our mouse problem. They identified potential mouse ports into our house, and lay day prolific traps (none of which caught mice), and foam blocked some of the obvious passages, and where we saw mice chewing. The problem got worse. We were all woken up at 5 am by the incredible volume of the chewing at our cabinetry. A second more experienced fellow came out, and found a pile of mouse droppings under out kitchen sink. The worst stopped, but we still heard scratchings next to my sons bedroom. A repairman then found dead rats where there were mouse traps. Rats they said are a whole different ball game, and would cost around 400$ to manage. Our problem is not completely resolved, but I think the mouse issue might have been.

John showed up early but that was o.k. He got right to work spraying and putting down traps. He was professional and very knowlegeable. He was very patient and nice in addressing all my concerns. I would definitely use this service again.

The total cost was $225 but they gave me a ten percent off because of Angie’s list. So I paid them $202.50. The rodents are now gone. They are still in the wall somewhere and they weren’t able to totally get rid of them. They were there when they said they were going to be. They took care of the business and they looked it over. They were decent and I would use them again. I would tell the others to use them and make sure they get the ten percent discount. I will use their services again in the future.

They did a good job. Overall the job went very well. They came on time and they were quick. They would have come back but they didn’t need to. They were good. I guess they’re dependable and they gave me a quote over the phone. Their quote was a proof of whatever they said it would be. They were a little more expensive than some of the others. We will use their services again in the future.

He was excellent. He initially told me it would be about $150, but then came out to tell me it would only be $75 due to the the size of the problem. I really appreciated his honesty, and the fact that he did not try to overcharge me and take advantage of me. I would definitely recommend him.

I talked to Kevin on the phone and they quoted a price that was about $400 cheaper than the other quote I got. Inspector arrived on time and was very polite and professional. Homeowner has to prepare house for bed bug treatement - all closets emptied, beds stripped down and furniture moved away from wall. They then look for bed bugs and spray house twice - one spray kills any bug it contacts and the other is a longer lasting spray that kills bugs that touch it later. I have not seen any bed bugs since they sprayed. I did find some bugs that kind of looked like bed bugs so I called A-Alert. They sent someone by to pick up the bugs to identify them - turned out to be not bed bugs.

Well, the project never really had a chance to start. I can't give the company an overall score of F.

They were excellent. They were good and reliable and they took care of the problem for me. I couldn't take care of the problem myself and I couldn't afford their fee, so they gave me a discount. I think they gave me a discount because they have a good relationship with my management. They did tell me I had one type of bug when I actually had a different type of bug.

He checked everywhere around the outside of the building thoroughly, then checked any areas close by and all the common areas. He found them nesting in an area, set traps and showed me what needs to be done to keep them out.

They were very informative and helpful on the phone. They didn't have the traps available at the time, but I would use them in future if traps were available.

Excellent. The technician showed up at the early part of the time window they provided. He gave me good advice, pointing out which control devices he thought would work the best. Basically, he focused on our individual needs and did not over sell.

Happy with the service and that they use low fume chemicals as I am pregnant and we have a cat.

Have been using this company for 8 years at one building and many years at a prior rental property. I noticed a decent roach problem at this building while we were emptying out the tenants. I'm a little unhappy that A Alert didn't recommend an abatement regime for the problem. Had them come specifically to spray empty units and basement because of this problem. They were fine at showing up every month and good at giving me a call that they were 20 minutes out. I realize now, after some research that a stronger approach was warranted for the infestation.

While I have been pleased with every other service I contacted from Angies list, I found A-Alert to be unreasonable and unprofessional. I chose them based on the reviews, our initial conversation, and price. However, while the technicians were friendly, they initially showed up with only 1 trap (while the contract stipulated 2). I was told another would be brought within a day or two, but they never called. After I called, they returned nearly a week later, and the 1st trap had a squirrel. As they charge by the trip (not by squirrel)I offered to pay half price for the removal (as they were coming anyway and I might have caught 2 squirrels had they brought both traps) but Kevin, the manager, refused to even speak to me and would only talk through his assistant (which was annoying). In the end, I decided to discontinue service. It has now been several weeks since I informed them and was told I would receive a call, but have not.

Their price is very fair. They are professional and the show up on time. They are very thorough. They are willing to work around your schedule.

THE PERSON ON THE PHONE WAS HELPFUL IN ANSWERING MY QUESTIONS. THE TECHNICIAN WAS ON TIME, EXPLAINED EVERYTHING AND PUT MY MIND AT EASE. HE USED A SPECIAL SPRAY SINCE I HAVE PETS. WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY MORE ANTS. HOPEFULLY, I WON'T HAVE TO USE A-ALERT AGAIN, BUT IF I HAVE ANY 'PEST' PROBLEMS, I WOULD DEFINITELY CALL THEM.

GEORGE SEEMS TO BE AS INTO BUGS AS I AM. HE KNEW HIS BAITS, AND KNEW HOW TO FIND SIGNS OF THE INFESTATION. TOGETHER WE HAD A GREAT TIME SETTING OUT A SMORGASBORD FOR THE ANTS THAT WILL CONTROL THE PROBLEM WITHOUT RISKING MY PETS OR MY CHILD.

BUT THEY SAY THEY USUALLY DONT HAVE TO. SO FAR SO GOOD WITH US.
