I called with the problem...we set a time--they were running late because of traffic but they called ahead. Arrived and fixed the door. I had used them a couple of years ago for more extensive work and they were very good.

These guys are fantastic! Extremely knowledgeable and extremely prompt. Fees are quite reasonable for what you are getting, and they stand behind their work.

They were prompt (came out the same day I called) because my garage door was making a horrible noise and eventually got stuck and would not open. I was not able to wait for them so I left my garage key with them. They gave me an estimate over the phone, explained the problem thoroughly and I made payment all over the phone. When I got home, my key was returned, everything was perfect and has been working beautifully for over a year. I would definitely use them again.

I thought I needed a new garage door opener for a single car garage, but the serviceman from AA noticed that the door was simply fitted with the wrong spring. Quick response (same day), friendly replacement, all at a good price. Thanks!

He called again in the morning to let me know he would be there at the end of the window. Arrived on time. Were very knowledgable and professional and gave us options. Quality work. I love these guys - they are SO helpful. I called on Saturday, and he called me back between visiting his family in Indiana on EASTER weekend. He's great, helped me diagnose over the phone what might be the problem, let me know what amount I would pay extra for emergency service, and then helped me figure out how to get my car out of the garage until he could stop by first thing Monday morning - also warning me where/when to be careful as to not get hurt. Also, he's incredibly friendly, professional and reliable. I've had service for broken springs and new openers installed three times over the past ten years, and I've always used these guys.

My automatic garage door would partially close, then stop and return to the top. It did this on an intermittent basis, but it was becoming more frequent, so I called Derek to see if he could fix it. He came over the same day, diagnosed the problem, replaced a part and tuned up the automatic garage door opener system. He did a great job of diagnosing the problem and was enthusiastic and pleasant.

They realigned the door and fixed the belts. They were reasonable and helpful.

The problem: The bottom of the gate was getting caught behind the guider plate, a small piece of steel not attached to the gate. At some point, the gate moved passed the back of the guider, getting stuck behind it. The discussion: Called AA Chicagoland Garage Door Service on Wednesday afternoon. I explained our condo unit has a 6-car carport enclosed by a large wrought iron gate which is run by remote control. I spoke to Derek, who provided me with an estimate for the work based on what I described as the issue. We set an appointment for the next day. He arrived promptly at the agreed upon time. The work: He and his partner went right to work and Derek provided an overview what seemed to be the problem as he overlooked the gate and motor. He completed the work in about 2 hours. He stated he thought the issue was fixed 45 minutes earlier but noticed an additional issue as he began to wrap up (the hardware and gears were loose on both sides, not just one). At the end of the service, he provided me with future maintenance tips and a detailed invoice describing the work performed.

Car stuck in the garage on a Sunday. Within 3 hours of my initial call the door was fixed and worked better than it had since we've owned the house! Service as good as it gets!

It went very well. They called me because they were going to be late. They are quick and very professional.

Unfortunately, I cannot report having had a pleasant experience with these guys. We found them on Angie'sList and saw they had a great rating. We solicited them for a quote to repair a broken garage spring and their estimate was the best of three we received - so I would definitely give them an A for price. But when I called back to ask if they guaranteed their work, the conversation quickly soured. He said he would only guarantee the work for 1 year. I explained that one of the other companies were guaranteeing their work for 5 years and that I would need to discuss our decision with the condo association president. He complained that he had already cut the springs for us and said there was no way he could warranty his work beyond a year UNLESS HE RAISED THE PRICE. If you guarantee your work, you guarantee your work...it shouldn't be tethered to the cost. Apparently, for the price he quoted, he was planning on performing shoddy work that he could only guarantee for a year. But if we paid him more, he would do better work that he could guarantee for longer. I explained that we weren't looking to haggle price with him, we just wanted to be sure his work came with a reasonable guarantee. He clearly felt we were trying to squeeze him financially or something because he gave an ultimatum of "30 minutes" to make up my mind, at which point I told him I was not interested in doing business with his company if this was the way they handle their customers. Honestly, I was polite and civil throughout the conversation and merely asking good questions in making sure we had a good partner in this repair project. For some reason, these guys did not want to guarantee their work beyond a year (red flag) and tried to rush me into making a decision (red flag). We have since found another company that has agreed to meet the price these guys quoted, and is offering us a 5-year guarantee on their work. They're also more pleasant to speak with on the phone.

He arrived and within 25 minutes he had the eye replaced and reinstalled in a better place, Oiled the wheels, and made certain the work was done. Very pleased.

The garage door had been acting up for over a month. It would close half way and then pop back up; however, after a couple of tries it would always close. As I left for work last Thursday it would not close so I manually shut it for the day. When I got to my office that morning I called AA Garage door service. From beginning to end Derek couldn't have been nicer and more professional. On the phone that morning he asked me when I would be getting home and that he'd meet me there. While repairing the door he told me about the various aspects of the door, the mounting devices and the motor. Derek was not trying to sell anything. He was just helping me to understand what I had and what may present problems in the future. By the time Derek left I felt as though I was an informed consumer. It's been many years since I have had a service company who truly puts customer satisfaction as a priority. This company does and I highly recommend them!

My garage door broke, it had been operating rather shaky, so I knew it was a matter of time. I'm not handy, so had no idea what was wrong, I knew the rollers had been breaking due to the wall of the garage being slightly smashed in from our bad driving and the garbage men. I was fully prepared to have to replace the entire door, it's 20 years old and not in great shape. i called Derek and left a voice mail at 7:40 am, he called back 15 minutes later. By 10:30 they were at my house, and by 11:30 everything was fixed. They replaced two springs and a cable and a couple of rollers. the area I thought was a major problem he said not to worry about. He couldve told me he needed $2,000 to replace the door and I would have believed him, instead it was $342, what a relief! This is what a service provider is supposed to do -SERVICE THE CUSTOMER. I couldn't be happier and HIGHLY recommend AA.

Checked out Angie's list to find a garage door company who could come out and fix the problem I was having with my garage door. Called AA Chicagoland over the New Years weekend. They called back after a few hours saying that they were out of town for the holiday weekend but could come by first thing Monday. I was available after 5pm, so Derrick stated he would be there between 5 and 5:30pm. Derrick called at 5pm saying he was running late and would be there by 6-6:30pm. Derrick and his cousin Jeff started their review of my door a little before 6:30pm. I showed them where I thought the trouble area was, they agreed. Derrick also saw a few other spots where he could correct. They were there for about 35 minutes, fixed what needed to be fixed, very friendly. I would use them again and recommend them to friends and family.

Sensors had been continually misaligning. Then one died completely. A neighbor recommended them. We called at 3:15, they were here by 3:30. Had problem diagnosed and fixed before 4. Professional, knowledgeable, courteous, went the extra mile..

Dereck and his peep (cousin?) were super fast amazing awesome - my wife called them in the afternoon and they came within a few hours - they jumped into test mode and discovered the problem immediately, made necessary replacements and were on their way to the next garage. Done in no time at all and super fun to talk to... would call them again in a second. Money well spend. Keep up the good work fellas.

I have a really old garage door and they had to get a specialty spring for me. They found the specialty spring and they came back the following day to replace it. They were good. I give them all A’s for their service.

They did a great job. Derek called in advance when he was coming and was very good about keeping me informed as to what he was doing. Everything was done efficiently and correctly.

We had been struggling to keep our decrepit old garage door working, so when it finally went quite literally "off the rails" we decided to replace it rather than repair. AA Chicagoland Garage Door Service had previously replaced the old motor for us, so we called them again to quote this work. They were prompt (came that afternoon) and professional. They suggested a couple of upgrades that made sense for our installation, and specifically ruled out others that would not have added value for us. The door was in the next day, and we couldn't be happier with our smooth-running, attractive new garage door.
