I called AA Garage door opener at 10 and they came at 3 or 4 that afternoon. The man who was driving called ahead of coming to let me know he was on his way so that I would be home. I did not ask for an estimate given I had no idea what was wrong. They gave me a base cost for coming (can't remember what it was). The 2 men arrived - they immediately introduced themselves and gave me a card to prove who they were. They came in to see how the garage door was from the inside first. Then, they raised the garage door (and it did not raise the first time). The men asked me a number of questions on when the problem happened, how often it happened, whether I tried anything and whether there was anything else. They then examined the entire garage door opener to determine what was wrong. The only problem found was on one side of the garage, the electronic eye was almost embedded in the wall and the wall had had some water damage. They suggested the eye would not work properly if it was getting wet. They suggested moving the electronic eye up so it would 'see' the bumper of a car if it was backing out when the garage door went down - as it was fit right now, it would not stop the garage door going down. They also suggested moving the electronic eye away from the wall - therefore, the water issue would then go away. I didn't understand how they meant to mount the electronic eye - so they got out the different pieces they would use and showed me exactly how they would mount it. Then, they told me everything else they would do just as part of the visit (oil wheels and garage door joints, check spring). I said to go ahead and do the job. While the other man worked, the owner made suggestions of other things I could do to prolong the life of the garage door. He was extremely nice and easy to talk to. They got the job done within an hour and said they would come back if the garage door malfunctioned again - which it has not. They did not charge me any extra for the time it took to answer my questions or explain in detail what they were doing. I felt very comfortable that they were doing a good job. The 2 guys were really nice - I just can't remember their names.

The worker who came out was very efficient. He was a very kind person. He fixed the immediate problem and also fixed the anticipated problems too. He also asked us the other things we needed him to fix and fixed that too. The price was reasonable. He was a personable person.

Derek was very professional and thorough, explaining the options and not over-selling any service or product. We asked for an estimate on a door replacement as well during the service call. He was frank about the products he sells and prefers to service. He provided a quote for the replacement at the end of the service call. This repairs were promptly conducted after an initial estimate for the repairs were given.

I was referred to Derek by my uncle who uses him on several rental properties. I called in the evening and he returned my call within five minutes. He scheduled the appointment the next day, around my schedule and showed up promptly when he said he would. He even called to let me know he was on his way. Derek and his partner were so friendly and professional. The main problem was my sensors, which they fixed and adjusted. I asked him about the height of the sensors, which my home inspector had mentioned should be lower, but I never took the time to look into. Derek adjusted them a little higher, even than they were, and explained why (so the sensors would span the entire car length versus just the tires, in case snow builds up to the height of the sensor- which did happen in the winter, and so kids can't jump over them to avoid them). After having had a car gate spontaneously close on my car at my last home due to faulty sensors, and thousand of dollars in repair, I agreed with him and appreciated his thoroughness. He found a couple of other minor things wrong with the installation of the motor, which he fixed for me - he installed a cross bar to make the opener sturdier, increased the tension a bit, and some other adjustments. I also asked him why my lock button on the opener wasn't working. Wouldn't you know it, it was as simple as loosening the screws that hold it in place just a bit! He even recommended I purchase a surge protector for the plug. What I appreciated most is, Derek took the time to show me how everything works and made appropriate recommendations without trying to sell me something. A garage door opener doesn't seem like rocket science, but I truly understand more about it now.

I phoned them late in the morning; by 3PM, Derek and Jeff arrived to take a look at what was wrong. Throughout the entire process, Derek was very informative and educational. They also took the time to lubricate the tracks on the other two garage doors. It was a pleasure working with AA Garage; I even recommended him directly to our neighbour across the street, who needed some sensors adjusted for their door.

I called when my garage door began acting funny - they came out that very afternoon and took care of it. I have used these guys since his uncle owned the business years ago. They are prompt, reliable, courteous, professional, they clean up any mess and do great work. I recommend them to anyone I know who has a garage!

Our previous door opener was over thirty years old, and started to perform erratically. Derek came out to look at it, and said that we could get more use from it. He was very courteous and honest. We decided that thirty plus years was enough time for the old device, and asked him for a quote. After examining the condition of the door, tracks and springs, Derek gave us the quote without trying to sell us any unnecessary "extras" (i.e., a new door, new tracks, etc.). The following day, he arrived on time, and had the new opener installed within approximately 90 minutes. It works perfectly, with no problems.

THEY WERE VERY RESPONSIVE, AND QUICK IN COMING OUT TO ASSESS OUR PROBLEM WITH THE GARAGE DOOR. THEY IMMEDIATELY SAW WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE, AND FIXED IT RIGHT THEN. THE REPAIRMAN WORKED QUICKLY AND ACCURATELY.
