Description of Work: Called Lanz to get estimate on the non-working heater in my rental home property. They came out, did a "safety inspection" and "red-flagged" my heater due to a cracked heat exchanger. After discussing options, I purchased the "Band-Aid" warranty package and I authorized the replacement of the heat exchanger, so that necessary further repairs could be made. They told be the main gas control valve was defective, then proceeded to repair it. That evening the tenant calls me to tell me the heater would not stay on. After a follow up visit, the techs told me the ignitor switch was defective. When I argued about the service and warranty package for continued repairs, they told me the service contract had been terminated and they could no longer service my heater. I also was sent an email from the office that said: "This contract has been terminated." They gave a partial refund of $170.00, but I had to go to their offices in Champaign to receive it because it was taking too long to process otherwise. I was more than pleased at that point that the contract was terminated, as I had had enough of their incompetence and lack of professionalism. I would definitely go elsewhere, anywhere else, for HVAC service in this area.

Description of Work: They ran a new gas line for my laundry room. Tim was very professional. After he left I smelled gas. I called the company and he immediately returned and spent a considerable amount of time looking for the leak. We determined my dryer was the leak not the new gas line.

Description of Work: Lanz serviced an "on-demand" water heater. Though the technician had never serviced a Noritz On-Demand heater, he was able to perform an annual maintenance. When the unit continued to shut off randomly, the technician returned the next day, phoned Noritz, received a troubleshooting procedure over the phone, and then fixed the problem that had been present at the time of installation a few years previously. The technician then arranged with Noritz to have Lanz become a licensed Noritz service facility. |I was not charged for the second service call. The technician was punctual, courteous, and consummately professional. I might have paid a little more for Lanz' service, but I definitely got high value for what I spent. A "class act".

Description of Work: I contacted them for a furnance mintenance check for winter. Very thorough job, explained as he did his work, as I asked questions too. Discussed importance of having furnace checked for winter and also a spring check of air conditioner. I decided to do a one year contract to cover this check and then the check of air conditioner this coming spring. I had printed discount coupons from their website, so that made the service call a great deal. I will gladly use them again in the future.

Found toilet leaking at supply, water distribution system, and rocking on the floor due to broken floor flange. Repaired floor flange and did a sanitary connection seal renovation, upgraded to a no drip supply system, and replaced water distribution system.

Description of Work: came out for leaking from the AC unit. they did not diagnose properly and sold a start up item and said it would help. My son finally found the problem of duct work that had slipped out of position and the drain plugged up. I did get a refund for labor but did not for the start up item they installed. do not recommend and would not use again.
