Kingsborough was great. They were easy to schedule and work with. I had them clean the air ducts and install chimney caps at a new home I just purchased. I also asked them to clean the chimney, but they said it wasn't really required and didn't charge me for that service. Would definitely use them again.

Shawn was very careful and thorough. Arrived on time. Advised me on furnace - and double checked dryer vent that had been cleaned by another company. Seems to really care about a good job.

The gentleman that did the work was very professional and showed up on time. He briefly went over the extent of the cleaning and the procedure. He explained he would need to cut holes in the lower level ducts to create the vacuum. From the initial phone call to the final clean up I was completely satisfied with the company as a whole. There is pride in workmanship; all vent covered were cleaned and not a trace that he was in the house. When the cleaning was completed he showed me all of the dust and debris from the ductwork. It is amazing the amount of dust in the system that was removed. Air smell has improved and my need to dust has decreased.

I had used Kingsborough one week earlier to clean my air ducts. Shawn did a fantastic job and was polite, careful and considerate. I had just had the entire interior of my home repainted and Shawn was so careful there was not one single mark or smudge on any walls or ceiling. I had contracted Kingsborough to also clean my dryer vent and when Shawn began to work on the dryer vent he discovered a flaw in the way the original builder installed the dryer venting system. The "run" from my dryer to the place where it vents out of the house is a little over 40 feet. The builder had used flexible venting tube in part of the venting system which should have been hard-piped to comply with building codes. Shawn provided an estimate on the spot for the minor "reconstruction" that would be needed to bring the venting system up to code. Fortunately, my lower level (underneath the laundry room) had a drop ceiling, so Shawn could access the area by sliding the ceiling tiles out of the way. Because this additional work had not been anticipated, Shawn indicated it would need to be scheduled for another day. I was thrilled when Kingsborough's Debbie called me to say Shawn could return to complete the work just two days later. When I scheduled the original appointment, Debbie took time to carefully explain the whole air-duct cleaning and dryer-vent cleaning process. I had never had this type of work done before, so I was very grateful for Debbie's time and attention. On both days of my service, Shawn always called one hour ahead to let me know he was on his way - and he always arrived promptly as scheduled. Shawn was super neat and clean and very, very polite. You can tell he takes pride in his work and wants to do things the right way. I am preparing to sell my townhouse and feel so good to tell potential buyers that they can move into my home knowing the air-ducts are freshly cleaned and the dryer vent is up to code (unlike probably many of my other neighbors in our condo community!). We are so happy that Kingsborough also services downtown Chicago as this is where our new home is...and we will definitely be calling Kingsborough to help us breath fresher, clean air in our home! Everything went well. Shawn, the technician, explained how it was going to work, and allowed me to see all of the dust and yuckiness that came out of the vents. I especially like that he took care of cleaning the vent covers in detail, and knew that the covers that were painted on needed a razor - so that the paint didn't rip off. The process was very easy for me, the client - there was really nothing I needed to do, except to vacuum up a little afterwards. I asked them to check the dryer vent to see if that needed to be cleaned, and he said it did not. Seeing as I would have no way of knowing myself, I appreciate the honesty. The price was on the higher side when I did some comparison shopping, however, I believe that you get what you pay for. From my experience, I would say that it is worth it.

Shawn called to tell me he was on his way, and he arrived promptly by 9 am. We have a big house with 3 furnaces and a zone system. I was unsure of which furnace controlled which zone in my house, but Shawn figured it out. He had to move some heavy furniture blocking various supply ducts, which he did with a smile. I'm sure he also had to move piles of items around, too. He was nice and friendly. While he was here I asked him if he would clean my dryer vent, and he accomplished that, too, increasing the air flow from 1000 fpm to 1550. He cleaned everything up nicely and finished by 3:15. He even fixed a whistle he heard in the attic furnace. As an Angie's list member, he gave me a 5% reduction in price. The cost included the third furnace and an extra 28 registers. I plan to recommend Kingsborough to friends on Saturday who also want their air ducts cleaned.

Sean was on time and went straight to work. He kept the rooms clean during the process. When he finished he discussed his observations clearly stating my options for getting the chimneys operational.

Response to my inquiry, and scheduling were prompt. They did not, however, show up in the promised time slot, but called at the END of the allotted time ( 10 - 1) to say that they would be late.

If you burn more than the average in your fireplace having it cleaned 2 times a year is not a bad idea. Make sure u are burning good hardwoods.

Quote for chimney repair estimate was really really high. I got second opinions from other contractors and they agreed that the repair work quoted was extremely high. Not sure if I'll use them again but the basic sweep was great.

I paid a lot less than I expected. When I called to schedule the appointment, I was quoted something in the $150 range for cleaning. However, Shawn just charged me for an inspection ($50, less 5% Angie's List discount), since the fireplace was in great shape and did not require any major cleaning. Shawn did recommend a couple of things that should be done next year. Great company, great technician!

We got three estimates and chose Kingsborough because of the carefulness of their examination before providing an estimate. They were not the low cost provider (although they came down a little when we told them of a lower estimate) but we felt the quality promised was worth the extra. Kingsborough was very careful to make us understand the it was late in the season and that the outside work might have to wait till spring. But the weather was kind, and the work was done. We appreciated the way Kingsborough kept us informed, the accuracy of their scheduling estimates; and especially the quality of the work,

It was a wonderful experience. Shawn was friendly, explained the work he was doing, and was very nice. He was neat, and performed the work with minimal mess (which I had pretty much figured would happen, but it didn't). I was amazed at how effective the cleaning was, and plan on breathing a whole lot better . I also had an equally good experience with the scheduler on the phone.....kind, patient, efficient.....well, I could go on and on. Liked them so much, I'm having some additional work done on the chimney next month.
