From the the first call to Debbie arranging an inspection, to Shawn the technician, we was pleased. Shawn did a yeoman's job explaining the issues and the repairs necessary, with no hard sell. That in itself was a factor in our deciding to hire Kingsborough. The work was completed as scheduled and contracted, minimal mess and clean-up flawless. Jose did the mason/concrete work and he did a great job. He removed the fireplace doors for me prior to Shawn showing up to do the other work and that gave me time to repaint them. They were both friendly, personable, and did excellent work. We're very pleased. Don't let the inspection charges stop you from getting a quote, because they are amenable to waiving these charges based on the work contracted.

Scheduled the appointment with a 4 hour window. Shawn the technician called one hour before coming and arrived just about an hour after the call. Both the call and his arrival were in the scheduled window. He was professional and courteous. He looked at the fireplace to quote us on getting glass doors, the quote was a bit high but helped us to know what we were looking for and we were able to find the doors online for 1/3 of the quoted price. The chimney cleaning was fast and they left the living space very clean. Inspected the the chimney and let us know that the chimney was actually not tall enough and gave a quote on the spot for them to fix it (although that would need another appointment). Thought that quote was very reasonable. Told us why the chimney should be taller but also said that it did not have to be done, but if we experienced some of the symptoms he warned us of, then we would know why. We were very happy with the service. Fast, efficient, professional, and clean. Even though the price seems a bit higher than others I had looked into, the service level we received was well worth it.

They showed up within their time window, and called approx. 1 hour prior to showing up. Service was prompt and efficient. Pointed out a few items that will need to be watched over the next few years, and wrote up an estimate. Was charged a lower inspection-only fee on the two fireplaces that did not need cleaning. Looking forward to being able to use our fireplaces for the season!

We've used this company before in our last home that had a pre-fab fireplace so decided to use them again to inspect/clean the chimney in our newly purchased home. Just as before (when we were pre-Angie's List) we were very pleased. The lady who answers the phone and schedules the appointments is friendly and knowledgable. Shawn came out to our new home just as with our previous home. He was on time and provided a very thorough inspection and explanation of what he was doing. He found cracks in our chimney cap that were missed by a previous service. He explained to us the cause of the cracks and the repairs that will be possibly needed down the road. Additionally he showed us how the ash dump works but also cautioned us against using it and the reasons why. (Evidently it wasn't up to code and could cause a fire.) We were especially pleased as Shawn noted that the previous owners had barely used the fireplace so there was no need to clean it. It's nice to find a company that provides honest, reliable service. We will definitely use them again!

Kingsborough is a high-quality professional organization. Previously, I've used them to do a steel pipe drop down the chimney, and this was a rebuild of a 90-year old chimney. It looks fantastic, good as new!

He did a really good job with the chimney sweep and worked hard. He kind of talked me into adding a stainless steel chimney liner that I didn’t actually want. I agreed to the service, but called two days later to cancel that additional service. They were good about the cancelation and returned my money promptly.

Our total project would be in the $7500-$10,000 range and they wanted to charge me $125 for just the estimate to be done. Not impressed and will take my business else where

We were having some draft issues with our fireplace, and I also wanted to know if our chimney was capped properly. Rather than try to talk me into lots of unnecessary work, I was given some DIY tips. Waterproofing was applied to the chimney. On a separate note, I asked if they would check the airflow on my dryer vent and they did it without hesitation (and let me know that everything was fine - no pressure to have them cleaned).

Arrived on time, very neat and conscientious. Our chimney had no issues or problems, so he was able to service it relatively quickly. They are very clean - laying down tarps and vacuuming so things in the house don't get dirty. We will use them again!

I was in contact with Debbie and we confirmed an official appointment after a few emails. I waited 3 or 4 weeks to have this job done and the day finally came for my appointment and they simply did not show. I contacted them and they accused me of not sending my information and address to them. I absolutely did and have record of it.
