We have had our ducts cleaned before by another company and the work was not nearly as thorough. Sean carefully cleaned all of our ductwork, vacuumed out the vents and cleaned off the registers. He did a great job. Sean was very thorough. He explained everything he was doing for me. He was very nice and it was easy to have him in the house for several hours. Definitely worth the price.

I got there info and number from Angie's List and it said that they serviced Kane county. I called and left a message, which was returned promptly, they asked me what the problem was (which was an inspection and odor problems), they then said they didn't come out to my area and gave me the number of another company. I checked this company out on Angie's List and they checked out OK but I found another that was closer and had better reviews. It strikes me that as soon as this company found out that the job was only a inspection and possible clean, it wasn't interested in traveling to do such a job, they really should state that they will only travel to a job over a certain distance if that job is over a certain dollar value. Very disappointing as they sounded like a very good company.

Scheduling the appointment was a breeze, and the company called to confirm the appt. Sean called that morning to ask if it was OK that he was early! He showed up with a smile and proceeded to check the chimney and recommended that it be swept, since it was fairly dirty. He did the work immediately and didn't leave a speck of dust in the house. He also climbed up on the roof to inspect the cap even with the ice and snow built up from the storms this week! Sean patiently explained the results of the inspection and recommended a minor repair that I could make to better keep critters out of the chimney. All in all a wonderful job, and I highly recommend Kinsborough for chimney work. I will be using them again!

GREAT! They were very professional and prompt. The inspection took about 30 minutes. I will definitely be using them again for our annual fireplace and chimney inspection.

I called and made the appointment on a Saturday, which was nice, and they called to confirm a few days before the actual appointment. He was punctual, on the day of the service, and told me I did not need a cleaning, which saved me money. At my request he put a new screen on our chimney cap as he said ours was very ill fitting. I asked if it was possible to order new doors for our fireplace through him and he informed me that the company that made our fireplace no longer exists. He recommended that the chimney be inspected once a year which I will probably do with them.

We recently moved into a house and called Kingsborough to do a chimney inspection. They let us know that the inspection would be $75.00 but that it would be applied to any other work that needed to be done. Shawn's inspection was very thorough and he was very knowledgeable. He suggested raincaps for the chimney and flue, which we agreed to have done that day. He said that the chimney was not dirty enough to require a cleaning at this time. The cost for the cleaning would have been $175.00. We appreciated his honesty. Shawn also checked our appliances in the basement to see how they were vented into the chimney. He found that the water heater flue was oversized and said that, over time, it could cause extensive damage to the chimney. He gave us an estimate to have the appliances sleeved with the proper size stainless lining system. Shawn also gave us information on converting our fireplace from wood-burning to gas and also on installing glass doors.

I kept getting somewhat different and very expensive solutions to a problem that I did not think I should be having. When I moved into the house, the previous owner had used the fireplace daily during the cold months so when I had very smokey fires which set off the fire alarms and smelled up the house, I couldn't understand why. This was the 4th fireplace company who came to diagnose this problem. The first three had elaborate and very expensive solutions including one company who told me the entire chimney had to be torn down and rebuilt. Thousands of dollars!! Kingsborough listened carefully and did some looking around.... in the fireplace, up the chimney and up on the roof. He told me to crack open the outside patio door before starting a fire....and get the fire going with newspaper so the smoke really gets going up the chimney. He also fixed a safety problem that one of the previous companies had told me was completely unfixable!! So.. open the door... not spend thousands.

They were more careful than other companies that I had out for an estimate. Their price wasn't the lowest, but they were so thorough with their estimate that I thought they'd do a better job. They offered to seal the chimney with a spray, which no other company offered.

Although I had to wait a few weeks for them to come do the work, their serviceman was very polite, did the work that was ordered, and was very neat, when he was in the house.

They did a great job. They didn't use the white brick, brown instead, but now that I see it I'm glad they didn't use the white. They said white is unstable (maybe that's why it fell apart in the first place?).

For the first job, Shawn arrived as scheduled and was very professional. During the inspection he found broken bricks in the firebox and the flue was cracked. He took pictures of this for me to see. He cleaned the fireplace and installed the chimney cap. I am scheduling another appointment for the other work. I am very pleased with this company. On the second job, Shawn arrived on schedule and did the work as proposed. He kept my floor clean and was very nice and professional. I am pleased with their work.

It was a totally positive experience working with Kingsborough, from the estimate (they actually video taped the inside of our chimney so we could see the problem, fascinating and helpful), to the scheduling, actual work, cleanup, and follow through. Everyone Shawn, Chuck, Jose, and Debbie, was polite, professional and responsive with a great attitude. There was a minor error in the work that we did not discover until the job was complete and paid in full. Shawn was back out within a week to correct the problem, apologetically and cheerfully. I will continue to use Kingsborough for maintenance of my new chimney.

They were very professional and thorough. They spent quite a bit of time on the original estimate. I was very clear on what they planned to do. The work was done well and they double checked that we were satisfied with the work and color of the bricks.

Shaun was very courteous and polite. He explained his work and cleaned up after himself. I am having him come out for more work.

He had to pull the heavy machine up to our second floor to clean the ducts upstairs but didn t scratch my wooden stairs. He then checked out the ducts and didn t charge me for the second floor ducts and furnace because it wasn t that dirty, so he didn t have to do the cleaning. He cleaned the ducts on the first floor and in the basement which he informed me was quiet dirty. He cleaned our dryer vent and told us that it also really needed done. This company was a little more expensive than their quote, but the final price was about the same. I would use them again!

The service person was on time and polite. He knew exactly what he was doing and answered questions I had on other things in the house. He took his time and was thorough. However, I think overall the job was over priced.

They were on time, fast and performed the work at the price quoted.

Technician called during scheduled period to advise he was running about an hour late. Arrived just about the amended time he advised me of. Explained what he was going to do, how long it would take and then did the job. Technician removed his shoes before entering the house and used disposable slip ons while inside. Work was performed as stated and within the time frame. Technician then explained his findings and asked for any questions I had. All questions were answered in a professional manner and charges were explained. Dryer now performing as good as new.

Original call was for a leaking problem. After all work was completed, still had the leak. Turns out it was coming from my furnace humidifier. Chimney is old and did need the liner and tuckpointing done, but I was still mildly irritated. Seemed to do good work though and cleaned everything up.

Its $75.00 for an estimate. You get the money back if you use them.

From the receptionist to the man actually doing the cleaning of ducts and vents, they were totally professional and explained everything very thoroughly. They may (or not) be more expensive than other companies. However, I felt so comfortable with all of their knowledge and expertize, it was worth it. This was my first experience having this type of service performed in my home and I was quite pleased with the experience.

They were very punctual, professional, on time, and their quality was also good.

Shawn was able to come the same day we called, which was great for us. He told us we didn't need our upstairs furnace vents cleaned because they weren't dirty, which we felt was very honest of him, as we had planned on having both furnace vents cleaned & wouldn't have known whether they were dirty or not. He also cleaned the dryer vent & told us it was attached wrong & fixed that for us, as well. As a favor to us (free of charge) he also correctly attached a vent to a bathroom fan that our inspector had noticed was not attached properly. Finally, he cleaned out & inspected a chimney that hadn't been cleaned in quite a while. Unfortunately for us, he found bad news in the chimney, but we are glad to know that we shouldn't be having fires without some major repair work. He was extremely knowledgeable & explained everything quite well & in detail. On top of all of this, he was friendly, nice to the children & the dog, clean, & a pleasure to have in the house doing work.
