They were able to fit us in and come out with a few days notice (because the weather was getting cold and we couldn't use our furnaces without any way to vent the carbon monoxide), and worked hard to solve the problem enough to be able to use our heat again at least temporarily. We found out that our chimney had more problems than a block, the block had been building for years and the trapped gas had condensed and had been doing damage to the bricks. There was no terracotta tile lining the chimney to protect the brick so we now have to replace the furnaces and hot water heater for high efficiency models that can direct vent (no more using that chimney). I'm glad that they were able to look inside the chimney to find the problem. Unfortunately because of the lack of access to the chimney they couldn't do anything to line the chimney; but they were able to tell me how to solve the problem before more damage was done to the bricks (replacing the appliances that vented into the chimney).

Upon arrival, the company brought their equipment in. The first thing my husband noticed was that the equipment was new and of commercial grade. The process in which the ventilation was cleaned was very efficient, cleaned the ductwork, did not allow any of the dirt/debris back into the ventilation system or into the house, and did not harm the duct work. After cleaning an antimicrobial was put into the ventilation system. The technician noticed chimney damage and wrote an estimate for this as well.

Shawn was on time and was willing to answer my questions regarding the dryer vent. He shortened the dryer line and repositioned the dryer so that it vented to the outside better. (At no charge.) He was polite and nice to work with. Since annual cleaning is recommended, I plan to use Kingsborough in the future. Gave a 5% discount for Angie's List.

I was disappointed considering their reputation. The chimney collapsed into my bedroom and 1st floor and the Hispanic mason failed to inform his office. A tech was supposed to come out anyway and did clean up a major amount of brick in my bedroom. However, I had chimney dust & soot everywhere and had to hire a cleaner. The tech tried to claim it wasn't their fault, when I asked the mason later he admitted to dropping the bricks down the chimney. The mason also dropped the brick off the house and was hitting my neighbor's air conditioning units & killed most of my plants. Later, when the project was supposed to be complete, I had rain dripping through the actual fireplace & ceiling into my newly plastered bedroom. The owner stated he would come out personally so I took off work, but then sent the same mason. The finished chimney looks nice, but wasn't worth the several days of missed work. After the water issue, I lost my temper, they gave me free waterproofing. Oh boy!

Sean was as professional as they come. He was very polite and neat. Since he could not get the vacuum unit close enough to some of the vents, he rolled the machine around the house to the individual ducts. He did a thorough and meticulous job.

Company was very professional. Flexible with scheduling. Showed up on time. Did inspection and installed screen for $123. Said cleaning was not necessary. Recommended replacing chase cover and storm collar. This was replaced approximately 6 weeks later. Very helpful in explaining what was needed.

They showed up on time. They did a pretty good job and cleaned up after themselves. I was happy and would use them again.

Fantastic. Sean did a great job cleaning everything up. He got an old bird's nest out of the dryer vent and even warned me about the wasps nests on the roof. Turns out the chimney didn't need a cleaning so he only inspected it and didn't charge me for it. He also warned me that the wood holder was to big for the fireplace and a major fire hazard.

I had never had air duct cleaning before, and was impressed with the professionalism of the service person. He came in, worked quickly and quietly, and then it was done. I would hire them again. They were pleasant to work with and competent. There was a little miscommunication about the arrival time of the service person. Go for it! They seem to know what they are doing.

They were professional and thorough. He told me other things that were helpful as well.

I haven't had my chimneys cleaned for several years. I expected to have 2 cleaned, but was told the second, lesser used unit wasn't dirty, and didn't need to be cleaned. I sure appreciate their honesty.

This is a husband and wife team (she answers the phones) and they were very nice. I was very pleased with them.

Shawn is wonderful. Very honest & trustworthy. Did a visual inspection inside and out (I opted not to have him use his camera equipment). Made a great recommendation for the chimney cap and let me know that from what he could see, it didn't need a cleaning now. He also, took the time to answer ALL my questions!

Kingsborough allowed me to select the brick for the new chimney, which matches my 60 year old house better than I would have thought it could. The chimney looks beautiful and works perfectly now. It will be safe to use for another 60 years.

Excellent. Got appointment within 2 days of contact. Called an hour before the appointment window and was prompt and thorough. They also did camera evaluation of chimney and suggested repair, but referred to a specialist as they didn't feel they were capable of doing the best job for the need. This was refreshing to hear as previous chimney inspectors have tried to sell us expensive new liners that may not have been the best solution.

I'm sure any company have charged the same. I'm very happy with the work. People need to be aware that if they have animals in the chimney, the chimney sweeping does not remove the odor.

Very honest. Advise you if anything needs attention. They're the best I know of. Keep up the great work. Comes highly recommended.

Shawn arrived early and did an excellent job.

The technician arrived early within the time-frame I was told to expect someone. He quickly brought up his equipment and was able to clean the chimney/fireplace with no problems. He did correct the connection to the dryer vent but was unable to complete his check of the vent since we couldn't find where the vent to the outside of the building was located. I gave their business card to one of my neighbors and hopefully when they book a service, I can have my dryer vent checked out if they can access the condo above mine.

Technician (Sean) was suppose to arrive between 8-10 am, actually arrived at 11am. After the late start, Sean immediately started with air duct cleaning. He kept his work area clean and worked efficiently. Duct cleaning took approximately three hours. He inspected the chimney sweep and determined no work was needed. Last he inspected and cleaned the dry vent and determined there was a problem with the piping. Found the problem to be a cracked pipe which he replaced. Dryer vent work took approximately one hour, including the repair of the pipe.

He came and looked at the problem to determine that the whole line needed replacing. Gave an estimate and we scheduled the work. Showed up promptly and performed the work. He was very professional and courteous. Had to rip open the ceiling but he made sure I knew that they did not do drywall work. In the process I called another firm on the list to fix and paint the basement as long as I was at it. Also got to run some speaker cables and hide some other cables in the process (I guess an added bonus to me). Would definitely use them again if needed.

It's not often that I feel comfortable with a new company, but I was immediately comfortable especially when I saw the huge, professional, clean equipment being hauled into the house. I knew that there would be no trail of filth left behind (like with the last company I used).
