Was very clean, worked within a pretty cramped space.

We'd had baby birds living in our stove ventilation since early spring this year. As advised by the Illinois wildlife bureau, we waited until the birds left the nest before getting it cleaned and blocking it from future nesting. After using Angie's List to find Kingsborough Chimney, we called to get an estimate and set up an appointment. The reception staff who set up the appointment were friendly and courteous. It was clear from the start that their intention was to work in a way that was convenient and helpful to us. The appointment was set up for less than a week after my initial call. Estimated amount was $175 for one duct to be cleaned plus $10-15 for the vent cover to be installed. They gave us a 3 hour window for the service call, with a promise to call us about an hour before arrival. As promised, the service person called about an hour before he would arrive. The arrival was within the promised window of time, and the service person was professional in appearance and demeanor. After getting a description of the issue and our concerns from me, he went to work right away. While walking around our house to the back, he noticed our upstairs ducts had moss and other foliage hanging out, indicating nests were likely up there as well. He pointed this out to me and gave me the option to take care of those at the same time. I agreed, and he gave us a small discount for doing all three at once and did not charge us for the vent covers he installed. (Even though the final price was higher than the original estimate, the work done was 3 times that of the original estimate, and the cost was less than 3 times the original estimate, so we were very satisfied with the cost.) Before he left, he showed me the work that was done (as best as he could from the ground for the second floor ducts, but I could see the vent covers and that the mess had been removed). Overall, I was very pleased with the experience of working with this company, and I would certainly use them again, as well as recommend them to others.

I called them for a cleaning of the chimney. They came out and inspected everything top to bottom and determined that the cleaning was unnecessary. The inspection cost $60 where the whole cleaning would have been $180. So right off the bat - by being honest - they saved me $120. They then pointed out that the chimney surround was heavily damaged (The ceramic faux brick in the fireplace). There were cracks all the way through and informed me it was a safety issue that needed to be addressed ASAP. They quoted a price for the part to be installed and I went with them. That part with installation was $330. Now its like brand new.

Had a 10am appointment, called at 9:30am to let me know they would be about an hour late, I really appreciated the phone call. Showed up did a great job and everything was kept very clean and explained everything he was doing. Shawn even helped me try to figure out why some vents were having low output and reconnected a duct he found lose after further inspection. He checked the dryer and it did not need to be cleaned. He also noticed that the air filter in our furnace was a few inches to small and we should use another size next time we buy one. I would Highly recommend!!

I hired them based on their great rating on Angie's list. When I called for more information, Debbie was very helpful and knowledgeable. She explained the procedure, and gave me some good information. I made an appointment for a couple of weeks later (worked around my schedule.) Right on time within the window they gave me a very pleasant young man named Shawn arrived at my house with a truck load of equipment: air compressor, huge Hepa vac, etc. From the first few minutes, it was obvious that Shawn clearly knew what he was doing. He did a great job, it took about 4 or 5 hours total. He is very pleasant, polite, and personable. After all the work was done Shawn even gave me some good pointers on another project (unrelated to air duct cleaning) that I have in the works. I would use them again and I recommend them to anyone needing air duct cleaning.

Shawn was punctual courteous, friendly and efficient. He explained what he was doing, answered questions and got the job done on schedule.

I was pleased with the service. When I called for an appointment, the process was explained to me over the phone which was helpful. On the day of the appointment, all of the ductwork was cleaned and the registers and air returns were removed cleaned. The process took several hours.

Arrived on schedule informative, but not chatty very diligent and professional equipment was big & looked pretty new. Was careful with furniture & walls. More expensive that others, but worth it.

The whole experience was a positive one. When I originally called the company, the woman I spoke with was very helpful, took my information and said she would call me back with an estimate and appointment availability. She called later that evening with all the information I needed. On the day of the appointment, Shawn arrived on time and ready to work. He laid tarps to protect my floor and carpeting, explained what he was doing and cleaned up quite thoroughly when he was finished with the job. Shawn is very personable and was willing to answer the questions I had.

Service guy arrived promptly and did excellent work. Cleaned our chimney and mainly gave us peace of mind! We had a crack in the back of the fireplace and he assured us it was functioning properly. And he gave us the Angie's List discount which is always appreciated!

Because we mostly use gas, none of the chimneys needed cleaning. We originally had them out because one of our fireplaces was filling up the room with smoke. He said we just needed to create an updraft, and there would be no smoke. He started the fire to show us how to get the updraft going, which he didn't need to do. He was very pleasant, took his shoes off when he came into the house, and checked other things out. It was very reasonably priced. We would definitely use them again.

Overall, I was pleased with Shawn's attention to detail. He left me with a detailed report of his inspection and said he would be mailing me a proposal regarding the work he felt should be done. We used this company because of the high grades it earned on Angie's List and after dealing with them I felt I made the right decision.

Sean is very nice and made sure everything was working well with the chimney. He looked around the house to check if anything else needed done. He did a great job and the fireplace is beautiful. They're very helpful and knowledgeable. They advised me on ordering smaller logs to be sure everything fit well. If they were an all-service company. I would never use anyone else.

This firm definitely lives up to its reputation. Debbie in the office was not only knowledgeable about the work to be done but was conscience about calling to confirm appointment dates and times. Shawn Scholfield came out to review our situation, explained what needed to be done and prepared the estimate. He was straightforward in his presentation; extremely knowledgeable of his product. We did agree to having Kingsborough do the work but at no time did we feel pressured to sign a contract. Within four weeks, he was back to do the liner installation. Again, very professional and all debris was cleaned up when he left. A couple weeks later, Jose the mason arrived and over two days dismantled and rebuilt the chimney. He too, was very professional and did excellent work. We would definitely use this company again.

Very well - they were pleasant on the phone when the appointment was made and were on time on the date of the appointment. The man who did the work was very friendly, knowledgeable and informative. We are considering the recommendations they made for liners.

We replaced chimney liner 9 years ago, and I was wondering if we should have the chimney swept. I called up the company and the lady was very honest, she told me that sweeping is not necessary unless I have a blockage (which I don't). Honest people.
