Talked to Debbie on the phone who was very nice and friendly, made the appt, Shawn came out right on time, checked out the chimney...said it was fine. in pretty good shape. a couple minor things, nothing huge...was charged exactly what they said it would be...Very nice people... honest reasonable and prompt...definately use them in the future and would recommend them in a heartbeat

Shawn was the tech who did the cleaning in my home. He brought with him state-of-the-art cleaning equipment, a very impressive three part vacuum sytem with hepa filters etc. that is assembled in the home. This stainless steel monster sucks up all the junk from air ducts. Shawn was very friendly and like Chuck ready to answer all my questions. It was clear to me from the start that that Shawn was an expert in his field. Once the job was completed it was like no major cleaning operation had occured. Actually while the cleaning was going on I was able to do most anything I wanted. The only sign that something was going on was the noise coming from Shawn's monster machine. I had heard horror stories from neighbors/friends about how disruptive air duct cleaning can be and all the dust that is left floating in the house when its over. It wasn't that way with Shawn. I was a very satisfied customer when Shawn left.

Just OK. The technician, Shawn, was knowledgable and pleasant and professional. When I called to make the appointment, Debbie, the lady taking my call, told me theat it was a fixed price for cleaning all vents as long as it was a single furnace home. Imagine my surprise when I was about to pay them, I was informed by Shawn that the total price was $100.00 more than what I was quoted . I was told that there was an additional $10.00 for every additional vent over 14. I would not have had a problem if I was informed of this stipulation at the time of making the appointment. I was not.

Fantastic. Easy-to-schedule, called to confirm appointment, called again the day of appointment to let me know he was on his way. Showed up right on time, and proceeded with very thorough interior and exterior inspection. Pointed out what actually needed correction vs. what was simply an aesthetic issue that could be easily solved without his involvement. Removed dated fireplace cover and provided multiple options in a range of costs that fit our budget. Removed debris growing in chimney cap. Also checked stuck gas line that was a concern, and estimated replacement with new valve. Recommended staging the work seasonally to fit our financial needs, starting with exterior first, and then interior (extensive corrections were needed to repair hazardous cracks in the heat tiles and masonry). I highly recommend their services.

Kingsborough was very thorough, efficient and prompt. I had them add a chimney liner in November before winter; at that time, they also performed a temporary patch to the chimney to make it through the winter. In spring I had them finish the repair by rebuilding the chimney from the roof line. They did a fantastic job and it looks wonderful. I had no problems with their customer service.

Great. They showed up on time, did a thorough job and answered all the questions I had during the process. They estimated it would take about 4 hours and that's what it took. I'd use them again.

Still getting smoke smell in house, both upstsairs and basement fireplaces. Kingsborough returned on March 22, 2007 and found "gapping where metal part of smoke chamber meets brick". Repair cost: $308.00, 2 months after $4500.00 worth of work. Still Smoke smell in house when have a fire. Service call 2-1-2008($50.00) gave some hints which sounded resonable. Basically, have stopped having fires. March 2009, top- sealing damper on basement chimney has warpped, now there is a wind noise coming out of the basement fireplace when it is windy (the upstairs topsealing damper is tight, no wind noise). Damper supposed to be under warranty. When I called Kingsborough they wanted $50.00 for a service call. When two of the same dampers are next to each other, and you push on the corners of the upstairs topsealing damper, and it doesn't move, and you push on the corners of the downstairs topsealing damper, and it moves you don't need to pay $50.00 to Kinsborough to tell you that the topsealing damper should be replaced under warranty. Seems like everytime there is a problem with their work it is going to cost you. I certainly cannot recommend this company.

Shawn was on time, very thorough, well spoken, and informative. Overall, he is a person I'd have back in my house to do work. We did use KCS for a chimney sweep in the past. They did a very good job for us.

I was pleased with their service. The owner was actually the one who came out to do the job, and he was an honest, down-to-earth man. I trusted him, and he referred me to another contractor that was also able to do the work that I needed properly. He really went above and beyond.

They were very helpful in showing us problems with the air ducts, furnace and crawlspace. Didn't try to up-sell any additional services and gave us an angies list discount of 5 percent. i would recommend this company for people who want to have their ducts cleaned properly and professionally.

Shawn came here previously to clean our chimney. We were so impressed with him that we called him back to clean our air ducts. He is professional, competent, knowledgeable, polite, personable and very neat.
