So if I would asked to rate AWE Air Water & Energy's services in one line, I would say, please find someone who is more reliable, professional and having better business ethics, and customer service oriented. This is what happened, after I found AWE on Angie's List as "A" rated company with some good fancy reviews, that is probably, because other customers who didn't had similar experience as mine with AWE didn't write a review, thinking more waste of time, which does makes sense to me as well, but at-least I would like others to be aware about this company and don't get to suffer what I just experienced over the weekend. Though I have home warranty but forced to find an outside vendor as there wasn't any of their in-network vendors were available same day, When I called AWE to make an appointment, thought I am lucky to get the same day appointment with very reasonable service charges, also I explained the situation about my home warranty and agreed to pay as soon as job is done, in-turn it will be my responsibility to claim with home warranty based on proof of payment from AWE Air Water & Energy. That's how I can illustrate appointment call, with AWE Air Water & Cooling. • Operator at AWE confirming the appointment time between 02:00 to 04:00 PM CST on 09/23/2017, though they want visiting charges to be put on-hold on my credit card, unfortunately during the time of call I didn't had my credit card details as I wasn’t at my house, so we agreed to pay as soon as their technician arrives before starting the work. • While I was awaiting for someone to come over I got a call from AWE's technician named Mark, around 03:55 PM CST, asking me if I can wait a little longer as his previous call took more than expected time, without having any choice I had to say ok, and "now here is the surprise" next thing he asked me to pay $129.00 instead $89.00, when I questioned why, and the answer was "now since the time is going to be past 04:00 PM CST which is out-off regular working hours, though he had no regret or courtesy of being late instead he was trying to blackmail me, and made very clear that he can come over only if I accept to pay him $129.00, where I left with no choice and I had to agree to his condition. • But that wasn't the only surprise, I got another call from the same technician within next 10 mins, where he cancelled the appointment stating, he has other things to take and wouldn't be able come over, there wasn't anything left for me say and I hung-up the phone. And now since it was end of the day on a Saturday where other companies I could have possibly contacted were also closed for the day with having almost next to impossible to find someone next day being Sunday, unless I am willing to pay high premium, for those companies who work on Sundays. UPDATE 9-27-17 A response to AWE’s comments provided on my review from 09/25/2017. I would like to clarify few things. So AWE mentioned that I was suppose to call back with credit card detail to secure the payment method this is just they are trying to hide their mistake by providing an excuse and the fact is “they agreed to collect service charges during the visit and the condition was I had pay first before they start the work”. Other thing which was mentioned, AWE’s team member tried to reach me out for the payment prior to service visit is another false statement and it’s not hard to prove this as well, with the technology we have available now a days. What is mentioned by AWE’s team member make me strongly feel that company if has the policy to ensure payment method is in place, prior making the service appointment, even if that is the case why did they scheduled the appointment, not just this, I have a audio recording of the call with one of the AWE team member which can prove what I mentioned in original review and in this response is true to every word and I feel really sorry for AWE team members, at first they were incompetent, unprofessional, with no business ethics, instead trying to fix what they did wrong and more importantly making sure this shouldn’t be repeated, but still busy making false statements to mislead other customers and hide their mistakes.

I replaced the air filter and water filter myself and save more than $90. I was forced to renew the maintenance contract..
Description of Work: My wife is quick-temper, because the good review on angislist, she went to AWE to purchase a new unit of furnace which cost 1/3 more than market average price, what is worse, we have stick to the maintenance plan because the warranty will void immediately. The plan is $199/yr, any supplied replacement materials are far more expensive than others. For example, the furnace air filter is 3 times than I can get from Amazon, the water filter is $59 while I got the same thing from Menards for only$6.99 and put it on in 1 minute! Unbelievable, right? Overall they're professional (some technicians are not necessary knowledgeable) , but the cost is just too much. If money is not your concern it is fine to go with the company, otherwise, you better walk away.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We have been going back and forth for a year about the unit that you purchased from us and we thought that your concern had been resolved. However, it seems that it isn't. You Googled the cost of an install. For the amount of work that we did and fixed from the other company you had out who installed your air conditioner, plus the amount of free items that you received, we were VERY fair with our pricing. As for the warranty, that was all approved by you as that is how we do business. EVERY manufacturer requires annual maintenance that is NOT part of a warranty. It's like the oil changes on your vehicles....always chargeable. We are honoring n additional 9 years onto a labor warranty if you stay on our MVP And we make sure you never miss a visit. We also realize that there is a little confusion here. Our water pads are not $59.00. We did not charge you $59.00 for a water pad for your humidifier. Our water pads are $14.00 on the MVP. The $59.00 was for a pad and a cleaning. In business, there is a cost to do business. There is overhead to have a Client Care Specialist answer your call, the building, the lights, the insurance, the tech, the vehicle, etc.....If you find the exact manufacturer's filter, please, be sure that you get it from that manufacturer because they make them to fit their equipment. A lot of the ones sold at local stores are NOT the correct size and cause leaking. However, we will always be here to help in that too! We know that we are very competitive in price as we continue to research costs in the industry. We charge flat rate prices and that means that whatever you are quoted, is what you will be paying. No hidden costs. No hidden fees. Upfront and honest pricing. We see that a similar situation happened back in May 2017 when you posted the same rating on a different review site and we discounted your repairs $50.00. It seems that your units are from 2004 and 2005 and that you have payed quite a bit in repairs. We will ALWAYS give you an option of repair versus replacement and, being of the age they are, the repairs are adding up, that's why it has been so costly to you. However, it's a GREAT thing that you are on our Member Value Plan so that you are saving 20% each visit that we are called out to your home for service, and getting the diagnostic fee waived when you decided to go with the repair. We are so grateful that you are our client and we THANK YOU for continuing to trust us in your home.....since 2002 or before! THANK YOU for your continued support! The team at AWE was outstanding. The sales team, customer service, and installation group was stellar. The installation itself was fine. I originally went with AWE because of all of the comments about great customer service. After using a brand new AC unit for 2 months, the unit stopped working, leaving an error code about a blower malfunction. I called the code in to the office, where someone instructed me to turn off the unit (which cleared the code), They sent a technician the next day. When technician arrived, the unit was working fine - with no sign of the error code. I was charged an $89 service fee because there was no code. Not sure why I needed to pay for that - did they think I made up the legitimate code number? They said if the code ever appeared again I wouldn't be charged. How about not charging me this time and charge me if the issue persists? Especially for a client who dropped 12 grand on a brand new furnace/AC unit, plus another grand for a sump pump, and also pays monthly for the maintenance program. Can you say "nickel and dime?" Very short-sighted of the company to collect the $89, but lose the support of this client.

got an estimate to replace almost everything on the system for about $2000, paid the inspection fee, about $89 Called another ac outfit I used before, they came out right away, added freon for about the same cost as the above inspection. Freedom AC & Heating

We certainly thank you for your feedback. In reviewing the invoice from 6/14/17 and the recommendation sheet left, there isn't any pricing that adds up to $2000.00. It is our responsibility, as the trustworthy and honest company that we offer repair versus replacement. The highest amount quoted was for the leak search and R22 refrigerant. There was an option sheet given with 3 different options to repair your system the correct way, not to just add refrigerant, leave and have you call us because it leaked out again, which seems that this other company may have done. We have policies and procedures that our highly trained technicians follow and we do it right the first time, or you get a manager to come to your home at no charge. Install took around a day for both and the workers were extremely very professional. They took out the old units, installed the new and cleaned up everything before leaving.
Description of Work: The air conditioner in my home began to fail, I called AWE to come out, they let me know that both my AC and Furnace were on their last legs (over 60 years old each). They let me know what my options were, gave me their recommendation and told me to seek other's opinions as well. We ended up getting a new AC and Furnace with AWE.

It went well. When they came out, the plumber was courteous and respectful and he quickly assessed the issue - a flapper. He replaced the flapper and told me that I may need work in the future since the other mechanisms were showing signs of wear. I asked him to just replace it all now since I was at home (having taken off from work). He had the parts in his truck and it took him about 10 minutes and everything works perfectly - so much so that the Village called me wondering why my water usage went way down. It was because of the toilet mechanism replacement! I had no idea that a constantly running toilet would add up to an additional $200 a month in water!!! Thank you AWE! You are AWEsome!
Description of Work: My toilet was running non-stop initially and then it stopped flushing regularly. I needed them to look at it to determine exactly what I needed.

I've been a customer of AWE for over 13 years. It was at that time that I was shopping around for an new furnace and air conditioner. At that time I chose AWE not only for the best price quoted but also for the professional sales approach. Since that time every time that i have had any type of contact with this company it has been an A+ experience. Every Service Tech that has come to my house (mostly preventive maintenance) has been polite .. personal and has shown obvious knowledge of the product. AWE will remain my vendor of choice for all my HVAC needs. And although I have not used any of their plumbing services I will not hesitate to call them when I do need a Plumber.
