Each time the repair person comes here, he is courteous, thorough and cleans up. IF they are going to be delayed, someone calls to advise us. Everyone that I speak with over the phone or via email is helpful.
Description of Work: They originally did some repair work on our air conditioner and furnace, and we now have a seasonal maintenance plan with them.

Adam did a good check of my furnance, checked out related parts and gave me an assement of what he recommended to be changed and why. the igniter and a capacitor. igniter was very rusty and capacitor was putting out lower voltage than normal. no problem on what i needed but te pricing was a little high for those two items. He said that labor was included with the parts, however he spent a total of about one hour and 20 minutes thats a heck of a labor charge for replacing a ignitor and one small capacitor!!! although the service was great, i just found it a little to pricie for the parts and the amont of time spent in changing the items. I asked for a veterans discount he said the company had none. although this was a little pricie, i will still go with this company because of the good service provided by Adam., I would recommend to the company that a veterans or senior discount would be nice to have.
Description of Work: Adam was my tech, was on time and very courteous and professional. he checked out my furnance and related parts to include dusting the inside with a rag.

I had received estimates from a few companies and they had the best price for the quality of appliances installed. I did go through Costco and received additional rebates from the $6800 I paid AWE. The installers were top notch and the work was completed in a 12 hour day. No need to take and additional day off from work and that was appreciated. The installers were very trustworthy, clean, and hard working. The company also followed up with a quality control check soon after the work was completed. Very impressive.
Description of Work: They installed a high efficiency furnace, high efficiency air conditioner, humidifier, and thermostat.

Ian the tech arrived on time and was professional and courteous. He worked without disturbing our family as we ate dinner. At the end he signed us up for a 3 visit package for $289 and counted the current visit as the first. I was impressed by AWE and looking forward to working with them in the future.
Description of Work: Routine checkup of our multi stage furnace. Explained what was wrong with our whole house humidifier and fixed the filter.

AWE and Randy who came out to install our humidifier were fantastic!
Description of Work: I did a lot of research to find a quality and well priced humidifier for our home. I called AWE and they were great! Not only did they give me an estimate but they also asked me the right question with regard to installation. I made an appointment right then and there. Randy showed up on time for the appointment and he was very professional. He took the time to explain how he was installing the humidifier (bypass system). It was refreshing to have such a professional! The quality of the humidifer they put in our home was wonderful. It's great not waking up in a dry house. Randy had to work in a semi-tight space and he was quick and complete. I highly recommend them for price, quality, service, professionalism and knowledge of the product and installation. I give this company an A+++++. Thanks AngiesList!

I was referred to this company through Costco as a Premier Lennox Product/Installation company. From the phone interactions, personalized in home quote to the actual installation & follow-up, this company truly focuses on delivering extremely high quality service to its buyers. Shoe covers were always worn in my house, tarp was laid to protect my floors, wall, etc., a comprehensive description of the services provided were just a few of the extras that this company provides. I was especially impressed with the knowledge of the workers who installed the units. My contract also included a spring check to charge up the units and a fall check to shut the units down for the season. I probably will use some of their other offered services (plumbing, air duct work).

We purchased a boiler and installation for our deceased brother's home in Chicago. Awe came out and not only delivered and installed the boiler, they fixed and put to code a number of important items that were not part of their job. . They revented the hot water heater venting, found a gas leak or two in the piping ...and put the water heater and the boiler to code. The installers spent hours just regulating the system and running around getting the air out of the radiator system which circulates in 2 floors. The next day the same team came back to address a concern I had on the gauges. The house has never been so comfortable and the boiler is so smooth in operation.

It was installed perfectly and they did a really fine job. They were neat and the job was left neat. The ducts were all sealed properly and the job included a new thermostat which has worked perfectly.

AWE Air Water and Energy for my air conditioner. The only thing that seemed disturbing, was every time they came out, they kept finding something wrong. We replaced our air conditioner and furnace 4 or 5 years ago. The other one was 20 years old and never had a problem. Then we get a new one and suddenly having problems. For routine maintenance, I have the off season contract.

As luck would have it, just when it got hot outside, my central air conditioner stopped cooling. It would run all day but the temperature wouldn't budge. I found the Air Conditioning and Heating Company in the yellow pages and arranged a service call. I was traveling for work so I left my assistant in charge of getting the A/C fixed. The Air Conditioning and Heating Company technician found a woman alone at home and thought he could take advantage of her. At first, the technician claimed the entire unit needed replacement and quoted a price of nearly $10,000!!!. When my assistant protested, he offered to perform the requested service - which was to refill the refrigerant. The technician quoted a price of $150 - a fair price, in my opinion - but after he performed the service, he created a bill that totaled over $350!!! ...he tacked on several line items that were not delivered/performed. I filed a BBB complaint and while the initial response was swift, after I made my complaint known, the company stopped responding to my calls. The money was never refunded and the A/C stopped cooling again a couple of months later. Stay away!
Description of Work: My central A/C was not cooling so I needed the refrigerant topped off. I thought I was calling a local business who would do the right thing at a fair price....instead I got ripped off!

They were professional, fast, efficient, and did a good job. The main reason that we use them is because the technicians always explain everything that they are doing. If there are two way of doing something, they explain that to us thoroughly so that we can make a choice.

I had arrived home late one evening to find my water heater leaking all over the floor. I got the name of this company from a friend (not found on Angie's List). Because of the late hour and potential damage to the surrounding flooring, I did not attempt to contact friends or shop around for best price. The company contacted me right away and arrived within the hour as promised. The installer was professional and friendly. I had no issues with the service or the quality of the product. The replacement was completed within 1 hour. The next day, I talked to friends about the repair and most seemed to think I should have paid around $600 for this same product and service. I did some research and found the exact model of this water heater (Bradford White MI40T6FBN) was available for around $450. Friends who had similar services recently paid around $600 for both the product and labor. The quote was $1313 if I had waited until normal business hours for the repair, so still more than double the price other friends had paid. $1000 for labor + product market seems quite excessive. For this reason, I would not use this company ever again.

I have nothing but great things to say about this company. We have used them for a couple of years now for maintenance and repair. EVERY technician (especially Ian) that has come to our house has been professional, knowledgable and always arrives within the timeframe given. I truly appreciate someone that takes the time to do a great job so that we do not have problems down the line. A.W.E. is awesome!
Description of Work: We called A.W.E. because our air conditioning unit was not working. Ian came out and did a thorough inspection, diagnosed the problem and corrected it. He explained what he was doing throughout the process. We only paid the service fee.

Started out great. The technician/sales guy arrived on time and did a thorough evaluation of our furnace needs. He quoted a reasonable (albeit somewhat higher than the competition) price. When I started talking to him about the fact that we were deciding between his company and another one, that's when things changed. He called the other company I was considering using "a bunch of hacks" who will "screw things up" and are being sued by the state (not true). He also misrepresented their warranty. This is in a rental home I own and was within earshot of our tenants. The other company is A rated on Angie's List, has received several super service awards, and has an A+ rating from the BBB. All of this I had to explain to our tenants so that they would know the company we chose isn't a fly-by-night operation that will result in more furnace problems. It's one thing to explain why you're better than the competition, it's another thing to bad-mouth the other guy in front of your tenants. Unprofessional.

First off, I just want to say ?Wow?. The whole experience with the crew and personnel from this company was awesome from the very beginning. From the first call to schedule the free estimate (which I ended up rescheduling-thinking that we were eventually going to go with another company) to the final walk through, it was professional with a ?personal touch?. I wanted to split the upstairs & downstairs by adding a second unit & this was the only company that sent out: 1). An engineer 2). Someone that actually listened 3). Someone that didn?t steer me to buy a certain product. Eric was the engineer that came out to quote me and explain every option I had available. He answered all my questions without hesitation or making me feel stupid for asking. He was responsive before and after the work was started. He visited the site every morning to review the work performed and to see if I had any concerns or questions in person (I wish all contractors would do that). They also have a quality control inspection in which a separate individual from their company comes out about a week later to check things out ? nice to know that they care enough to make sure that your system is running fine and that a ?tail-light guarantee? is not the way that they conduct business. To quote Eric, ?I treat every job as if it was work done on my own home? and I can confirm that he did treat my house that way. There was a lot of work performed because they had to install a new furnace, A/C, & air exchanger (my wife has terrible asthma), which meant adding new runs and connecting the upstairs returns & supplies to the new unit. The crew (Billy, Kevin, and Randy) was excellent, clean and considerate. There were some loud times, but I think I?d have been more concerned if there hadn?t been. Upon review, both my father (who used to work in HVAC as a commercial tech) and the town inspector said that it was high quality work. My only gripe that I had was that the new unit has a lot of condensation due to the humidity in my basement (which was out of the scope of the contract- I didn?t specifically state that as an objective when asking Eric for the quote), so I can?t really fault the company on it. When I questioned Eric about it, he was prompt to reply and recommend how to resolve on my own & offered to quote me if I wanted them to do the work. I?ve already recommended them to a family friend and will use them in the future.

We had a service guy (Adam) come out to check out our A/C system in a rental property I own. He arrived ½ an hour later than what he said so I stood around outside just waiting. The problem we were having is that after about 45-60 minutes the unit started frosting up @ the supply lines &also on the A coil. We had already cleaned the condenser & the drain line & also made a window to clearly see the A coil so most of the work had been done for him. He ran some tests with the gauges & thermometers outside and did some temperature tests inside. He told us that everything looked good & could not find any problem. I then mentioned to him that we previously changed the blower unit to run at low speed rather than high speed to see what change it made. I showed him how the wires should be connected & he changed around the (2) wire clips (Took about a minute to do). He then asked if I want to proceed with a Level 1 repair & if so he would give the estimated cost. I became a little confused because just before switching the blower back to high speed he told us that everything checked out fine according to his ?diagnostic? tests. I also explained to him that we changed the blower setting to low after only A/C started becoming problematic to see what effect it would have. He didn?t know this & seem a little confused. We went back outside & he then switched back to his prior ?conclusion? that everything tested out good & that he could not find anything wrong. He then started into his sales pitch asking if we wanted to sign up for a maintenance plan. I refused. He then started writing up his bill. He actually had the nerve to write up a Level 1 repair of around $275. I told him that we should only incur the flat rate $89 diagnostic charge since he basically did nothing but do a few tests. In fact, he never even found our problem. He wrote on the invoice ?Found (?) blower motor speed on lowest setting, switch back to high speed?. I guess he felt entitled to another $176 for switching the wires. He actually never ?diagnosed? the blower to be on the wrong setting but found out only because I told him. I also told him that he never even quoted a charge for the Level 1 repair. He had to agree that I was right & did reduce the bill to the flat $89 diagnostic charge. He definitely had an attitude though. Another bad experience with this guy was that when I was away outside from him he began talking to my tenant on the side. He told him that the furnace & A/C unit that were installed were not efficient & that we should have a brand new Furnace & A/C unit installed. He told him that his utility bills would be less if we did this. I found out about this conversation afterwards. Afterwards my tenant was telling me that he feels I should upgrade both the furnace & A/C unit so everything is more efficient. I now have this problem to deal with. Why in the world would this service guy say these things discreetly to my tenant? This was my first experience with this company & will be the last.
Description of Work: Diagnostic Test. The problem we were having is that after about 45-60 minutes the unit started frosting up @ the supply lines &also on the A coil.

We are always disappointed when we fail to meet a clients expectation. In this case there are several facts that were not reported by the member. This home was built in 1950, the furnace and air conditioner are 16 years old and the furnace is in need of a complete cleaning. The inside of the furnace was black with dirt this can result in the system freezing up. This condition also reduces the performance of the system. Our technician offered to clean the unit but the client declined to have the unit cleaned. The member had also attempted to fix the unit themselves; as she stated they had switched the wires on the motor keeping it in low speed. This can also cause the system to freeze up. The renter had stated that he could not heat or cool the upstairs of the home. Our technician did explain to the owner with the tenant present that not allowing the motor to ramp up to full speed was reducing the amount of air flow to the upstairs. Our technician spent 90 minutes at the home with the client. The client declined to do anything to improve the performance of the system. Our technician only charged the client our diagnostic fee of $89.00. Our technician also stated he did recognize the blower was in low speed when he connected his instruments. Questioning the client about testing the motor is when they told him they had switched the wires. We provide all service calls a two hour window for arrival. We also call the client when the technician is on his way and expected to arrive within 30 minutes. Our technician did arrive within the time window and we did call the client when our technician was on his way. The renter did ask our technician if the equipment manufactured today was more efficient than equipment 16 years old. Our technician did respond that today equipment must meet much higher efficiency standards than 16 years ago. The client did not call our office with any concerns she had or provide us an opportunity to address her concerns. Customer satisfaction is our top priority. Discovered many issues with old furnace. Got a quote and the installers came that afternoon and installed new service. Very clean, very polite and worked into the evening so we would have heat that night.
