Gregg arrived promptly. He was friendly,responsive to my questions and explained what he was going to do. He executed well...with little or no disruption, inconvenience or disturbance. Afterwards he explained what he did and answered my questions. He appears to have done a fine and thorough job. Very satisfied ( again).

went well. Darryl was a true professional. He was detailed, organized, efficient and neat. Friendly. Explained his diagnosis and his remedy in detail and in terms i understood.. The service we have received over many years from AWE has been outstanding. THere have been several situations ( air conditioning, heating and plumbing ) where management took extraordinary steps to get us the repairs, parts and service that we needed....even during a weekend, evening, holidays. Truly and excellent service -oriented /customer -centric company.

AWE gave me a break in the pricing due to the earlier motor replacements. I am so impressed by their professionalism.

AWE was one of 4 firms I contacted for estimates when my central AC failed. My 20-year-old furnace needed replacement, too. AWE was the highest cost, but the salesman Jim S was willing to come back and compete. His solutions (80% efficiency, poor choice of vent locations for higher efficiency unit) were not acceptable, so he studied the other quotes and matched the best. (Note: it PAYS to do your homework, get multiple quotes, and work with the firm you find to be the best qualified). I also negotiated two years of free seasonal inspections on furnace/AC, which gives me peace of mind. AWE sent four top-notch technicians who completed massive work in two long days. Brett, the plumber, was particularly outstanding. He came back immediately when hot water flow was poor, to drain the new system, and fixed several venting issues with the new furnace/AC, at no further cost. When one sink cracked with the new faucet AWE installed, they replaced the sink, also at no cost. When they say "satisfaction guaranteed," they mean it. Footnote: Because I was spending so much money on these improvements, I refinanced my 2010 mortgage and was VERY happily surprised when the assessment of the home's value skyrocketed $40K because of the upgrades/repairs AWE made. I am 100% satisfied with the company and the work they did.
Description of Work: AWE installed a 96% efficient Lennox furnace and central AC, and a Naviens tankless water heater . They repaired many plumbing flaws, from leaking pipes to badly-installed fixtures by a do-it-yourself former owner.

We picked A.W.E. to do business with after going through the usual process of obtaining multiple quotes from 3 or 4 highly rated local suppliers. Tony, the salesman, did an excellent job of reviewing our requirements and walking through the various options to design a system that balanced the right mix of functionality, quality and price. A.W.E were not the cheapest option but they were willing to work with me on the price and in my view their proposal delivered the best value. Installation was scheduled within a week and completed in a day. The installation team did a great job. Steve's crew were all very professional and courteous They explained all aspects of the system to us, left no mess and cleaned up all debris. Overall we are very happy with the high-efficiency Lennox system that we had installed. The house is warmer, the air quality is much improved with the new air purifier and we have already seen a positive impact on our energy bills. I would definitely recommend A.W.E to anyone looking for a quality firm to work with.

We were really pleased with the installation. We have been using this company since 1986 and have had a new furnace installed, tankless water heater, non electric back up sump pump and new air conditioner. I would use them again but encourage the management team to improve communication with the office and installers. We had a couple of no phone calls and a missed appointment but I won't let this affect my report.
Description of Work: Provided estimate for three different models of air conditioners. Pricing appeared to be competitive. We choose the high end model and scheduled installation. Installers were professional and competent. All steps of the installation were explained and new air conditioner was installed. New thermostat could not be installed due to internal wiring problem. After some appointment mix ups, thermostat was installed.

all the techs were polite and on time, however something went wrong the first visit with pricing, but I must say that they do care about the customer and want to make sure that the customer gets the upmost service and care. I spoke with a customer service manager that I must say was very professional and concern about my situation, he assured me that the company was going to make sure that everything will be fixed and up to my liking, Dave sent out a supervisor by the name of Tom, and I must say he was very polite and concern and he along with Dave handle the situation excellently!!! I also met a tech by the name of Mika that was very professional and sharp!!! I would use them again just because the management took care all issues and made the customer happy!! they do care about their customers and want to make sure they get the very best of service!!! still a little pricey but worth it!!!!!......I am in the customer service business and to me customers are king and that's what I expect from contractors I hire and this company lived up to the expectation.......

Called this company when looking for estimates for an entirely new HVAC system. I first left a message and then received a phone call to set up an appointment later in the week. I then received a call from another employee asking to set up an appointment. After explaining this, they then apologized and hung up. Then, I received a call explaining there was a break in the schedule, and if we would like to meet now. I accepted and was told they would be there at 12:30. The salesmen arrived at 1. Unprofessional moment #1 The door was open due to the weather, and he walked in after knocking without me getting to the door. Unprofessional moment #2 He then asked if I was the primary decision maker. I said my husband and I would make the decision together. He then asked again if he would be joining us. I told him no because I was handling the estimates. He asked if I was comfortable with that. I chose to ignore this comment and continue with the estimate. Unprofessional moment #3. As I showed him around, I explained everything that I was told by a previous company. He asked for me to clarify what I was saying and then never discussed what I talked about. It seemed that he did not know what to say. He then measured our home and took out a laptop and printer. He explained some of what he was entering in the computer, but mostly just made choices and then showed us a price. He did not give options of explain his choices. When he was finished, he seemed to focus more on the discounts the company offers through Costco than the actual equipment on installation. Before I could ask a question, he asked me to fill out a financing form. When I declined and said we were still getting estimates, he seemed shocked. After the appointment I received 3-4 voicemails even though I told him we would not be making a decision until after the weekend.

Unfortunately, the service man found an issue with one of the brand new units. He narrowed the problem down, orderd the part and returned the exact day he anticipated the part would come in. The part was under warranty and the labor was included in the initial install price. Will definitely recommend this company.

The installation of the new furnace went well. As for the thermostat...well, let's just say AWE's QC needs some work. As well as its assumption that after completing work at a home, if a home owner calls --even 7 months later -- about something very likely related to that installation, to be more open as to the problem source. On Monday night, I switched the new thermostat over from Heat to Cool. Nothing happened. Nothing. No power. Zilch. Now, I'm no genius and didn't go to HVAC school, but the most obvious culprit struck me as the thermostat. "I'll bet it's a faulty thermostat or they wired it wrong and NEVER checked it out, because, after all, I was only having the furnace replaced." NOTE: Original furnace and AC were also previously installed by AWE back in 1998. This was a 2012 replacement for the furnace only, but the AC was still also being serviced by AWE as part of an annual service agreement. My call (to what I later discovered was an answering service for AWE) was an unmitigated disaster. The immediate response, even after explaining that AWE had installed the new furnace and thermostat in October, was that I would be charged an $89 diagnostic fee for the service call. Whoa! I heatedly reminded the Call Center respondent that AWE had installed the new thermostat in October and that I had never had any reason to "check out" the AC. Got put on hold. When the CC rep returned, he muttered under his breath, "This guy is an idiot." Then he restated there would be an $89 diagnostic fee. Now quite annoyed, and making no attempt to hide same, I reminded the rep that AWE had just socked me $7K for a new furnace and thermostat, so how about its a free service call until they can prove it was NOT something AWE was responsible for. He begrudgingly admitted that it would be free if that was the case, but that I needed to understand it was $89 if not. Then, he pointed out that I should have scheduled my regular maintenance and this could have been avoided. At that point I became even more belligerent and asked when someone could come out. He said the soonest was that Wednesday and again reinforced the $89 diagnostic fee. At that point I lost it, cussed him out, and hung up. Now mind you, AWE had also sent someone else out back in October with a free gift (a coffee thermos cup) to verify the quality of the installation. But they didn't check out the AC either. It was new furnace installation, remember? So after calming down, I called back an hour later, got someone else, explained what had happened, and attempted to schedule my regular maintenance check instead. I figured they could trouble shoot the problem and even if it was or wasn't their fault I'd bypass the stock "$89 diagnostic fee" response. This person seemed truly horrified by my account and promised someone would call from AWE the next day. They did. Kristi from Customer Service called, was apologetic, and promised to investigate with the answering service, which even given my boorish behavior with the first call respondent was deemed inappropriate. Turns out that my annual service contract entitles me to a 24-hr service for emergencies. She did confirm the $89 diagnostic fee if it was not an AWE problem. So Scott, their tech, did show up that evening. The diagnosis? The thermostat was wired incorrectly. He switched it around and--poof!--the AC kicked in. Okay, so to sum up. AWE should have performed a quality check back in October to make sure the AC also ran when they installed the thermostat. The QC follow-up the next week should also have caught that. And rather than wave a caveat of a petty $89 diagnostic fee--after their last contact involved thousands of dollars with a customer for over 12 years--they should have offered something more in consideration of mainlining and possible future business. My score for them would be lower, but since they did replace the blower on the old furnace previously without any charge, I'll give them some credit for that.
Description of Work: Installed new furnace and thermostat in October 2012. Had previously installed new furnace and AC back in 1998. Had service contract with AWE since 1998 for semi-annual maintenance. Replaced blower on furnace while still under contract. In short, a customer for 12 years.

System was purchased through Costco/Lennox arrangement with AWE providing the system configuration recommendation and installation. We were not quite comfortable with the first comfort specialist sent out by AWE, feeling he was a little glib. When I called and requested they send someone else, I was contacted by both the sales manager and the owner within fifteen minutes! They sent a more seasoned representative with whom we were well pleased and, in fact, we opted for a little more expensive system than that which was originally proposed to gain the additional efficiency/cost benefits of a higher seer rating A/C system. Installation was handled by a two man team with a very experienced lead installer and a capable assistant. The new system required a different venting system which uses PVC for intake and exhaust instead of venting through the existing duct work as our older system had. This added another layer of complexity to the installation but it was still completed in about 8 hours. The assistant installer had to return to hook up the A/C a few days later as it had been too cold to accurately measure how much coolant was just the right balance for our new A/C system on the original installation date. He was again courteous and efficient and provided a professional completion to the installation cycle. A quality control representative from AWE inspected the system installation work a few days later and pronounced it to be a very good installation.Since he might well have been prejudiced in his opinion, I waited until our village inspector came to inspect the installation before completing this report. He said this was the first time he had inspected an AWE installation and said he was very impressed with the quality of the installation. So we are very pleased and would definitely recommend this company.

Our basement was flooded early in the morning. By Monday morning we had our furnace and hot water heater installed and working. Everyone from AWE were very helpful, knowledgeable and concerned. Installation was done beautifully. We are extremely happy with them and have already recommended them to neighbors.

The techinicians were nice and professional. They did not waste time. Just wish they had everything the first time. Hope the third time in two months is the charm.
Description of Work: This was a follow-up to a service visit in January where tech brought out some but not all needed supplies because A.W.E.'s records did not reflect all the items needed. This follow-up came with incorrect supplies due to A.W.E.'s records not reflecting what was still needed or services needed(HEPA Carbon Canister; correct size UV lights). Expect this to be completed within a week. Yet after servicing this equipment since they installed it in 2005, thought they would have internal records which would be checked to see what was needed based on prior work before calling to set-up a service date
