Another amazing job by Ismael and his crew. This is the fifth room that Ismael has transformed for us and everything was perfect. The original floor that he worked on was completed in 2004 and it still looks like he just finished the job. Artistry and pride are evident in his work.

Called to setup a date and time for an estimate. Ismael gave me an estimate on the phone for my square footage. I asked if staining was included and he said yes. When he showed up for the estimate, he said it would an additional $300.00 because I wanted a dark stain. He said he wanted 4,000 of the 4,800 on the first day before he started the job and would need the rest when he finished. I said this was too much and tried to get him to agree to half, but he started to pack up his stuff and said I was welcome to choose someone else. I said ok and then he paused and said he would agree to 3,800 on the first day and would let the check sit on my counter and wouldn't cash it until he was finished with my floor. I agreed to this and Ismael started my floors on the following Monday. He cashed my check the first day and I didn't say anything to him since he was making good progress on the floors and the sanding looked good. Later in the week, Ismael stained the floors and put the first coat of vanish on them. He told me to take a look at the floors and leave him the last of the money. I took a look at the floors and told him they look wavy to me and it looks like his sander was out of balance, but he assured me the floor would come out great after the next coat of vanish and I was just looking at an area with a lot of grain in it. He applied the last coat of vanish and I let the floors dry for a few days before inspecting. When I walked in, the floors were wavy in every room. After doing some research, I had what's called "chatter" this happens when a sander is out of balance and leaves ripples in the floor. Ismael said the floor looked great to him and said he had an expensive sander and there's nothing wrong with it. After pressing him for a while, he finally admitted to the waves in the floor and said it was because my floors were weak. I told him... You knew the condition of my floors before you started the job and mentioned nothing about them being weak. He said if he sanded them again, they would probably look the same and didn't seem to want to remedy the issue. He said after I mopped it a few times, the sheen would go away and I wouldn't notice the ripples. Ismael did a good job with the stain and varnish, but with a bad sand job, this was meaningless.

It was a good experience. The floors of our new construction house were completely botched. Ismael and his team were able to redo what had been done so horribly by the original floor guys. They were able to match the color of the other wood perfectly and the work was completed on time and on budget. Approximately 900 sq. ft.

I have had floors refinished in the past and have always been disappointed. This time was different! The floors have a rich look with no splotches or bubbles. There were some unexpected problems with the banisters but Lester came up with a solution that I am very happy with. The workers started on the date promised and were there everyday long hours until the job was finished. My questions were answered respectfully and any concerns were addressed with a positive responsive attitude. I had planned to renovate the kitchen but had not had time to have cabinets, etc. removed. For a very reasonable price, the guys from Traditional Quality Hardwood Flooring removed all the kitchen cabinets and even managed to salvage the granite. It was a pleasure to have work done by competent, friendly professional people!

Ismael is very professional and easy to work with. He answered all my questions up front and completed the work on time. My only complaint was a little bit of excess finish was seen on the stairs. But otherwise he was clean and did quality work.

I used Ismael to refinish the hardwood floors in my living room and kitchen. He sanded them down to get rid of some scratches and stained them. Ismael did the estimate and gave me the best price. He also was able to squeeze me into his schedule and get the work done before any of the other estimates. His crew did a great job and did not leave any kind of mess. They even stained some vent coverings to match the floor without me having to ask. Ismael was straight forward and friendly. I highly recommend at the very least getting an estimate from him.

Ismael's team is fantastic. The work was completed on time and in an exceptional manner. Additionally, Ismael had to work around a number of other crews performing other repairs and services, and he did this with no difficulty or complaint. The pricing was also very reasonable considering the work that was done.

They were great. It looks fantastic and like brand new. They squeezed us in at the last minute and they were super accommodating. They were very clean and didn’t make a mess at all. They did a really nice job and it looks really beautiful.

Very good quality overall. The floors had a lot of inlays which needed to be sanded by hand. He then applied a clear coat which really made them standout (previously they were stained the same as the floor). You'll always have the smell which isn't pleasant and sanding which creates dust everywhere but I am very happy with the results.

I previously used Ishmael to finish the floors in my home. I have a two flat, one apartment of which was going to be vacant for a month. After the previous tenants moved out, I noted that the floors looked terrible. I wanted to have them finished ASAP so that the place would show well. Ishmael moved his schedule around to accommodate the job on two days' notice. Probably not the rock bottom price, but extremely fair given the circumstances.

Ismael did a wonderful job. He promptly came to my house to assess my floors and give me an estimate. We agreed upon a price and set up an appointment to do the work which was done in two stages. He always showed up when he said he would, was patient and informative, and took great care with my furniture, some of which are valuable antiques. He is honest and friendly and, best of all, my floors (which hadn't been cared for in decades by the previous owner, look terrific).

As usual, Ish and the team were on time, under budget and so clean even my Mother-In-Law would have gladly eaten off the floors! They are not only one of the best kept secrets on the North Shore, they will travel for their favorite clients - which is good for us since we are moving to Cleveland!

Fantastic. Ismael and his crew are highly professional and take great care to keep the dust to a minimum. The floor looks like new. This is the second room that they have done for me and I couldn't be happier.

We initially thought we might have to replace the entire floor but decided to get estimates on refinishing, as well as replacing the floor. Ismael was a pleasure to deal with. While he provided an initial estimate over the phone (based upon sanding and refinishing per square foot), he came out to look the job over, give us his recommendation (replace vs. refinish), and provide us with plenty of information about the process and products he uses. He felt confident that the floor did not have to be replaced and that we would be pleased with the sanding and refinishing. Once the job was scheduled, everything went as expected, if not better. The floor came out great at a fraction of the cost to replace the wood!

DUE TO OTHER RENOVATIONS GOING ON IN THE HOUSE, ISHMAEL HAD TO SCHEDULE REMOVAL OF THE OLD FLOORING, INSTALLATION OF THE NEW OAK FLOORS, AND FINAL SANDING, BUFFING AND FINISHING WORKS SEVERAL WEEKS APART. HE KINDLY ACCOMMODATED US. THE FINAL FINISHED FLOOR IS BEAUTIFUL.

I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THIS COMPANY. I STUMBLED UPON THE WEBSITE AND ALMOST DIDN'T CALL BECAUSE I THOUGHT THEY WOULD BE TOO EXPENSIVE. HOWEVER, THEY OFFERED ME THE BEST PRICE (AND THE BEST QUALITY) OF ALL THE VENDORS I RESEARCHED.
