It rained for two days and finally the men were able to finish it up. It looks great and I am very, very pleased with the work. I stopped by the first day (before the rain) and the workers were hard at work. From my point of view, there were no glitches besides the rain.

The painters are friendly and do go work unless they are trying to meet a deadline. I explained before the job that I had a date in which the job absolutely had to be finished. The rooms completed earlier in the job are nearly perfect. The rooms completed the day before I needed the work to be done were completed in a sloppy, rushed fashion (streaks, walls painted around moveable floor vents, etc). I had to leave town before they could finish. They asked me to pay them prior to the work being completed (mistake) and they promised they would come back. They came back to "finish" the work and correct issues when I returned to town. Even after their return there were many issues. I called Drake and they sent the painters out again to correct the work. They corrected some and missed some and in a most frustrating turn, they created new work to be painted. In attempting to wipe paint off of the baseboard there is now about a six inch line of paint that has been removed from the wall. I will fix the new things myself because I am anxious for the relationship to end. (I added photos after the Company's response, so that you could judge the work for yourself. These aren't even all of the examples.) The key is if you allow the painters an opened ended schedule for completion, they will do a beautiful job. They don't work well with deadlines and they are not good with correcting mistakes they make when rushing. The other problem is that the painters are independent contractors, so if you're not happy with one, they're not going to send out another.

I schedule an appointment with the provide for the first week of June. They finally come to my house the third week of June, I was told that they where behind due to the rain, which caused them to push my project back. I was understanding, but felt since my project was indoors it should have been completed sooner. I was very confused on the number of painters that where coming to my house. I asked for two because of the amount of work and time it was going to take. Only one guy came out the ceiling in my kitchen and living room look great. The entryway ceiling was done in a metallic paint and look really bad for a professional painter. If you did not know how to use the paint I would have preferred for him not to do the job. Now I have to pay someone to redo what was done.

Greg was very personable. He offered tips and tricks in a non-condescending way, and was very willing to do all sorts of touch ups throughout the house. Work was high quality and he made sure to take time and pay attention to detail. I'd use Drake Painting again without hesitation, especially if Greg would be the painter they send. One thing I will note is I had some trouble working with the way they schedule jobs. I don't know if this is because I did the "painter for a day" deal or what, but they're usual practice is to call at the end of the week and tell you which day they will call the following week, which will be the day before they come out. I do not work from home and doing so requires lots of planning -- so the "play it by ear" approach didn't work for me. They understood and were able to work with my schedule, though there was some confusion throughout the process. Not anything that would make me hesitate to use them again, but worth noting for others who consider using them.

?The overall experience with company was beyond terrible. Dan, the owner came to give mean estimate. I wanted the wallpaper removed & either new paper put up or have walls painted if I could not find paper I liked. I explicitly told him the plaster walls were terrible, cracked & when we tried to remove paper in the bathroom that huge chunks of plaster came off with the paper. (Just how much worse can be described!) Vincent came to do the work & when he was about 3/4 done removing the paper he told me the walls were much worse than expected & he could not do the work for the price quoted. He was going to just leave & not complete the job. I told him I would not pay for what was partially done & he said fine. I explained that I told Dan how horrible the walls were. He replied that he needs to be paid for his work & he won't do it. He wanted another $380 to complete it. I contacted the company & told Dan & Bob another company person that I felt this was a bait & switch. Dan was made aware of the condition of the walls when he gave me the quote. I agreed to pay to get it done & as Vince continued to work, he told me again, now it would be even more to finish. He told me he would also need to take frequent breaks as it would be dusty. (at $40/hour). I replied that this is his job, wouldn't he be wearing a mask & using a sander with a vacuum attachment He & Dan said that on the bottom of the quote it says for additional work $40/hour + supplies so they think it's OK to charge more than twice the quoted price. Oh, I was also charged for plastic to cover the counters & cabinets in the kitchen! I told Vincent & the company I now felt stuck. I needed it finished as my kitchen was now not usable & I had tile contractors coming. Vince just did not care. I was very upset & felt stuck having him finish the job. It could take weeks before I would be able to find someone else to come in & complete the job. I really had no choice but to have him complete the job. After the 1st day I noticed plaster splattered all over my new faucet set that left a discoloration. He had been using my new sink as his slop sink for the plaster. The next day I asked him to use the basement sin The next issue was the paint. I was told to pick out either Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore paint. I bought a SW quart sample & put 2 coats on poster board to sample the color. Vince got a BM paint. Said that they use each others formulas but the color was not the same. The color I picked was a soft blue grey. The color on my walls is now Easter egg blue. He wanted yet another $300 to repaint. I now will do it myself. After he finally finished & left I noticed that my transom had been painted closed. My stove top dented in from where he was leaning on it & a puddle of plaster water under the garbage can under the sink which ruined the finish on the cabinet bottom. My plumbing does not leak. It was not from that but from Vincent's carelessness. I did not contact the company about these things as they just would not care. I read reviews before using Drake & I hope my review will help. A job should not cost more than twice the quote. Again, I explained how horrible my walls were at time of quote.

It went very well. They called to confirm the day that they would be out to my house. I was out of town but my grown son was there. We had picked up the paint but it was too shiny. Sam, the Forman was able to take the paint back and exchange for the correct sheen. They painted the window frames, door frames, soffit, fascia, and garage. They had to do a lot of scraping and cauliking around the brick. Sam and Serge did an excellent job.

Estimate to perform work was for $3220 including all materials which I specified stain, paint & caulk to be used. Drake Painting had these details in the quote. Communication & punctiauality was good. The caulk I specified has to be ordered online. Robert's crew was very professional, I could tell right off that they took pride in their work to do a high quality job. They were careful of items around house as to not damage & making sure stain/paint did not get on newly installed deck. They did a full day of prep with a 6 man crew removing & replacing caulk as well as caulking cedar siding boards that needed it. Robert suggested replacing some very worn & cupped cedar siding boards on the back of the house & that I should consider a second coat of stain on the southern & western exposures of the house. I asked Robert to let me know what that cost would be. Painting/staining took place the next day with an 8 man crew. I did have Robert replace the worn cedar siding boards with extra boards I had in garage. Robert showed me what the second coat of stain would look like on one of the removed worn out cedar siding boards they had replaced. I decided to go ahead with the second coat of stain on the southern & western exposure of my house. I believe this amounted to approximately 2/3 of what had to be stained. Robert informed me that additional coat on the two sides would be $1200. The cedar board replacement was $120. The quality of the work by Robert's crew was outstanding. Robert made sure I was a happy / satisfied customer in everything he did. Even little landscape statues the crew moved to ensure they were not damaged were back in there place after the cleanup. This was the best stain/paint job I ever had done.

From my first phone call with owner Dan Malenfant to the finished product, I was completely impressed with this company! Dan was prompt in returning my call and scheduling the work as soon as his crew was available. We did the work in two phases, strip/prep/prime first and final painting second (we were having other renovations done and wanted to have the painting done after the other messy work was completed). Every room of the house had wallpaper that needed to be removed, including a horrible one in the main living area/halls that had a rock salt texture embedded in it. He met me at the property with the crew the first day to confirm all the specs of the job. We were comfortable having the crew let themselves into the home while we weren't there for the remainder of the work. They were very meticulous about all phases of this project, and we couldn't be happier with the finished results!

I purchased a Big Deal and paid in advance for one day and two painters. The offering asked me to supply dates in April. However, after several emails here on the site, the owner finally called me and said that the person who had posted the Big Deal did not realize that exterior painting can't be done in rainy April, so it would have to be rescheduled, probably in May. May was too rainy, also--which I understand is out of the vendor's control. However, during this period there was little contact with me. I asked several times for the owner to come out to the house to assess the project and tell me how much paint and other supplies I would need to buy in advance. He never came to meet with me. Never. Finally, one of the painters called and explained that they would buy the paint, etc., and I would reimburse. He didn't feel it was necessary for anyone to meet with me in advance. When they finally showed up, the work they did was excellent. But the overall experience made me uncomfortable. I had even mentioned that we would be looking for someone to do the whole house next year--this was a sort of audition. I would not feel comfortable contracting with someone who isn't customer-service oriented. Stress--the work performed was excellent and the price was, too.

Service provider is not able to pinpoint a date for scheduling. I was told that it would be 2 weeks out, but is not sure what day. I am not able to take off from work at the last minute, nor do I want to do last minute work. I don't understand how they do business like that. I don't recommend them.

No callback, and the unit is occupied now, so the unit can not be painted.

They came in and they were quick. They did a good job. I think the price is high but they came in and did it quick. They did a beautiful job.

Drake told us what week they?d be painting, and said they?d call the day before to say exactly what day. That was inconvenient as it left my schedule up in the air, but I understand that it?s likely a dynamic of the painting business; they don?t know exactly how long each job will take. Four painters with a clear foreman among them (Derek) showed up at 7 AM on the appointed day, and called when they were going to be slightly late. The second day they had four painters again, and the third day two. In my mind it wasn?t a simple job with different wall and ceiling colors and finishes throughout, but they got it right. The quality of the painting was very good, and the caulking was excellent. My only complaint is that there were a few paint splatters left on our tile floors here and there, but they cleaned up easily. Billing was also fair. We added some items beyond the initial estimate, and I was worried we?d be overcharged, but we weren?t at all. I?m OCD about paint, and I'm happy.

The 2 painters they sent did a excellent job, cleaned up after themselves each day. They were very professional and polite, we couldn't have asked for better service from the two of them.

The Drake team was amazing!! What a fabulous job they did! I can not say enough good things about this company. They are reliable, organized, detailed, and the quality of work is A+++. The ceilings were crisp and well done, the walls looked amazing?.the patchwork they did on the previous owners window hardware removal?and fixing the cracks on the crown molding was fabulous! I have a fresh new looking house thanks to them! They were also very meticulous about covering the carpets and floors?.and left the house as good as it was when they first started working. Fabulous work! I highly recommend you use this company for any of your painting projects!!!

I have used them before, during the early part of last year. The guy was very good. It was one guy and he was excellent. I was really satisfied with the service. But this time when I used them, they came with three people. The guy said that he was only going to charge me for the crew that he brought along with him. It was a two bedroom unit and I felt that in eight hours they should be able to get it done but they did not get it done. I bought paint from the hardware, showed it to them and gave them the tree gallons of paint. But these people used all the paint and when I when to the store to get something for them to drink, while I was gone and on my way back they called me and said that they were out of paint. I did not believe them because they were just painting for two hours. I was very unhappy with this group. I want to use the company again but I just don?t want the people that they sent. So I had to buy paint and had to rush back because I know they were leaving in four hours. I think they used too much paint and it was small rooms. I told them that they have to get the job done in four hours but they did not. I just finished the job myself. I was unhappy because they left two rooms undone. I did not spend more than the big deal. However they were on time and were flexible with my time. There were two guys and a woman, they closed the door and I could not see what they were doing. I would not hire these group again. I have been happy with Drake except this particular team that they sent over, I will never have them again. The price was good for what I was having done. They did good work but they just did not complete it. I think they wasted my time. They were on time.

They were very professional and did a great job. They showed up on time each day and worked hard all day. I will definitely use them for future painting jobs and will recommend them to my friends.

I have used Drake painting 5 or 6 times now over the last 12 years in this house. Always excellent work, reasonable price, responsive scheduling, great advice, flexibility, and polite painters who take pride in their work

They came out when they said they would. They were going to charge $60 an hour for labor and they didn't give me a good enough sense of how much time they would be working. They gave me a firm cost on price of all the painting. They were professional.

Thank you for sending such a wonderful professional painter. Other than the mixup on the schedule the quality of the work was superior. We will definitely be using Drake again. Thank you!
